Blackfathom Villainy

Bring the head of Twilight Lord Kelris to Dawnwatcher Selgorm in Darnassus.
Head of Kelris

Description

Strength has left me. Your help is needed!

Long ago this site was a great temple of Elune. But misfortune led to ruin when the corruption of an Old God seeped up from beneath the earth and tainted the sacred Moon Well.

Aku'Mai, servant of the Old God, rose from the waters.

The Twilight's Hammer cultists have allied with the naga to occupy these grounds. The cultists, led by Kelris, sacrifice innocents to Aku'Mai for power.

Slay Kelris and bring his head to Selgorm in Darnassus, <name>, please.

Clarification:

Both Horde and Alliance can get this quest.

Alliance can get in Darnassus BUT you don't have to go there first! Here's why --> Basically, the quest in Darnassus is to find the guy. You find him in BFD. The quest is completed. Done, done, done. He already has another quest, to kill the boss Kelris (which leads to your reward of the Gravestone Scepter or Artic Buckler). **Essentially, you do not have to go to Darnassus first.

To find the guy to get the quest (for BOTH Horde and Alliance), whose name is Argent Guard Thaelrid, you have to see where the turtle boss is (Ghamoo-ra) and check the nodes.

Check this link: https://classicdb.ch/zone=92 and look at where Thaelrid's name is.

You only need to kill Kelris. You can also have the person running you clear everything prior to Kelris. You just need to be there to loot the head.

(If the rewards were all you wanted, you do not have to light/gear the fires. It sends&nbsp aves for each fire lit and mobs come. That activates the door for the hydra boss. You can just leave after looting the head)

TURN IN: for Alliance, it's the Argent Dawn person at the Craftsmen Terrance in Darnassus.

For Horde, it's at Elder Rise at Thunderbluff.

Look for yellow dot!

Have fun.

I did this witha group the other night and it didnt go to well but i came out of it with a few tips for every one.

First off you gotta get to the npc to get the quest. He is hidden pretty well, you have to go under the water in the room with Ghamoo-ra and the other turtles to find him. after that work your way through the rest of the dungeon till it opens up into ruins, here where it got messy for us.

First off have some one stick to healing while every one else fights. Make sure every one is fighting the same guy as many guys will pile up on you pretty fast but if you take them one at a time the adds will really mean nothing. do this till you get to the building in the back of this area that you can go into. This is where we got fed up with this place...

First you gotta clear the entire inside of the place of any thing that isnt Kelris, this is key cause Kelris is very hard to fight with adds and his AoE sleep effect will end up being the death of the group, i know this for sure casue it was the case with ours... after that just go after Kelris and hope to god you are at enough of a range that you gont get sleeped. you should be able to take him out if he's the only guy left.

other thing to note is the fact that if yuo die you have to go back through the cave again but when you pass through the portal you will be automaticly revived. if to long a time has passed this will respawn but it does take a very long time for this to happen and will be very annoying if it does.

Hope this helps every one and i hope to get back in there to get this guys head!

Horde, listen up. Alliance are able to get this quest in the NE city, so none of you horde try to go in there. lol

Alright, both alliance and horde can get this quest inside the BFD instance. Once you reach the turtle boss, you only need to head STRAIGHT north from the location of the boss when you first enter. So if you want to, right when you run into that big room with the turtle in it, just run straight passed him and swim underwater through a underwater cave opening. Inside you should be able to swim up to another little island. On that island is a dying NE which both the alliance and horde can talk to. He will give you this quest to kill kelris.

The quest tells you to turn it in to a NPC in Thunder Bluff for horde. Thats all I know, since I am horde myself.

Hope this helped, Good luck!

You get 20 Argent Dawn rep for completing this quest. I was level 60 when I did it, so I have no idea if you get more AD rep at lower levels. I also got 20 Darnassus rep.

(For the clueless: This quest starts inside BFD. In the room with the turtle "boss" near the entrance of the instance, there is a hidden room with a wounded Argent Dawn NPC who gives you this quest. You must swim to get there).

Acutally it's worth doin just for the rep:
+500 Agent Dawn
+500 Darnassus

As lvl60 you can easily solo the whole instance in 30 minutes, so it's well worth the effort :)

I have solo'ed this at Mage Lv40.
If your level is high enough, you can reach at him with about 10 fighting. Not to kill all mobs on the road you go.

The key is "Going 'edge' of the road", when you enter the Twilight NPCs area.

Yeah the Kelris quest starts in BFD, and is acceptable by HORDE.

You can light the four flames around the statue that Kelris is bowing in front of.
Light them one at a time as each will spawn a grp of mobs.
This opens the door in the room for the final encounter of the instance....the hydra Aku'mai.

Suggestion on how to make getting to Kelris a little easier:

When you enter the room with the stairs going down and the concrete walls, there is a Reaver a Warlock with a Voidwalker then futher to the right a Dwarf Loreseeker and a Troll Mage.

Kill these two at a time. Look far to the right, there is a sand ramp down to the water. Kill the one thresher in the water.

Go back to the stairs. Kill the 4 at the bottom of the stairs.

Stairs to the left have 3 and a chest.

Kill 4 further down the staightaway. You do not have to kill all the way to the end platform. That's just if people need more pendants.

Next: The tendency is for the group to go up the stairs to the right and think they can clear the platforms. Not a good idea

Remember the sand ramp to the water?

Everyone should stand there and the mage or a hunter should draw the first target by sniping from there. The AI of the mob is to run down the stairs then come up and around to you. This will allow you to set up so that you can fight in relative safety on the cave side of the stairs.

Rinse, repeat.

After the first platform is clear, you should only have 4 to kill before the big Tauren. This time, they are too far to snipe from the sand ramp so have the puller snipe and jump in the water. Swim to the sand ramp and set up to kill as the mob comes around.

NOW you can go to the room with Kelris.

Note: Check the AI of the mobs - for the most part, if they don't play in the water (eg fendwellers , murlocks, crabs, threshers, etc), they won't follow you into the water. Always check for crocs or sea monsters.

After my group killed Kelris and cleared out his chamber one of us noticed that if you go right next to the big door it changes what the zone/area name is. One of us wondered if the door could be opened (which you can't), when all the sudden a MOB of turtles and other nasties spawned out of nowhere. Two of enemies at least had a name relating to the area by the door but it all happened so quickly I didn't catch the exact name.

I wonder if anybody else has experienced this? I wonder what triggered this as well.

When we did this I was a level 36 warlock, with a level 34 hunter and level 30 paladin. We breezed through the area with no problem except at the very end with the surprise MOB which we all died at.

as other posts say, this quest IS doable as horde, don't let incorrect information on alla lead you to think you can't get your shield or wand. my WAR got that shield yesturday. Ignore alla, and go talk to NPC inside BFD. hes in bottem left corner from turtle boss. after doing the quest, the turn in is in TB.

extremely good shield, best i could find till lvl33 BoE.
