Bring 20 vials of Burning Blood and 1 Burning Rock to Grimand Elmore in Stormwind.

Description

I hate to admit that Furen might have really found something. But to be sure I'll need to try his techniques on a new piece of armor. If you help me with the materials, <name>, then you can have the armor.

To make this armor, I need samples of burning blood and a burning rock.

The only place I know to get them is Duskwood. The Nightbane worgen based in the Roland's Doom mine have burning blood, and their leader Gutspill will have the rock.

For the blood part you can kill any of the Nightbanes near the Brightwood Grove farm in Southeast corner of Darkshore close to the cave and they don't poison you like the Tainted Vile Fangs. Only do the Tainted Viles if you have to get the stone at the cave. The reward is a Firehardened Coif for a warrior which isn't bad at this level. It gives agility and stamina as I recall. If I had not already got a rare helm I would have been happy to get it.

This quest is best paired with the third quest of Worgen in the Woods.

burning blood drops from all the nightbanes. but the stone thing only drops from gut ripper (or something like that), witch patrols from inside the mine to the exit, back and forth. easy quest really. and pretty good reward too. still, i cant wait to get the whirlwind axe. 3 lvls to go <3

Gutspill has the rock. He spawns at the mouth of the cave, 72.74

He is near the mobs for part 3 of the Worgen quest. Mobs for part 1 and 2 are north (about 62,40)

Burning Rock - dropped by "Gutspill", can be found in the cave at 72.74 [thanks bluewire]
Burning Blood - dropped by all Worgens, can be found at 62.40 and the area surrounding it.
(More mobs + drop rate is increased)
The other place for Blood is 72.74 at the area around the cave and in it. but the drop rate is very, very poor.

you can get the burning blood from the vile fangs, NOT just the ones in the cave (tainted ones)

looks smaller then the rest
i am lvl 31 warrior and here is a tip how i did it, i camp him on the western part on the high ground, wait for him to show himself and pull him out

The Drop rate is horrible on these things. I've cleared the area 3 times and still only have 10 Burning Blood.

while the drop-rate may seem low, it's definitely not in the 1% range.

I began keeping track of the drop-rate for the last 10 bloods and got 10 out of 46 kills.

~21% drop rate... not bad but you will definitely get some good xp for killing these things.

The location of Roland's Doom is 72, 74. You obtain the burning blood by killing the Worgen outside. You obtain the rock by killing Gutripper, a lvl 32 Worgen inside the cave.

There is a lvl 34 boss in there too but I don't remember his name and I'm not sure what his reward is...

hi guys, I've done all the prereq quests in the list before this one but i didnt get a letter to take to Grimand Elmore, and i cant speak to the previous guys i took quests from. the only reason im doing all these quests is for the coil. Help !

This quest IS NOT part of the Fire Hardened Hauberk quest. This is for a separate armor piece all together to get Fire Hardened Coif. The quest becomes available after you complete the chest armor quest.
