Trial of the Sea Lion

Find the Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility and the Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance. Speak with the residents of Moonglade to learn clues as to where these items may be located.

Form the Pendant of the Sea Lion from the two pendant halves. You need to be in proximity of the Shrine of Remulos to do this.

Bring the joined pendant to Dendrite Starblaze in the village of Nighthaven, Moonglade.
Pendant of the Sea Lion

Description

For the second trial, you'll need the two halves that make the Pendant of the Sea Lion. One half draws power from the agility of the sea lion aspect, gliding through water; the other draws power from the incredible endurance of the sea lion aspect. Druids draw on both these traits equally to embody the aspect of their aquatic form.

Speak with the locals of Moonglade to learn where the parts may lie, and bring both here to join them together. Once formed, take the pendant to Dendrite Starblaze.

HORDE:
If you don't feel like reading 5 paragraphs on where to find these things...
Here are the coords:

Barrens: 56,8 (confirmed) - Center of pond
Silverpine Forest: 29,29 (confirmed) - Right next to an air vent (great sea coords are 39,33) - Both coords are the same though.

There ya go! That's how you comment quests. No BS and straight to the point.

FOR THE HORDE
part DUEX

You do not have to do this quest, but you can if you like.

The items aren't marked on the map because you aren't turning the quest in to the items. They're just objectives the only time you see the item marked with the yellow question mark is when you actually complete the quest (or at least the current step) at the item itself. In this case, the items should sparkle, but won't be marked on the map at all.

Barrens: 56,8 (confirmed) - Center of pond
Silverpine Forest: 29,29 (confirmed) - Right next to an air vent (great sea coords are 39,33) - Both coords are the same though

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance:
This one's a bit harder if you still in the barrens head east to ogrimar. Get the Zepplin in Orgimar and head to Under City. Once you get to Undercity follow the road south until your in silver pine (remember this cause its how you're gonna get a nice blue ring in the Shadow Fang Keep Instance) Continue on the road until you see the road that turns west. Take the road to the west to a village called Spulcher just before you go up the hill to spulcher head north toward the greatsea you should see a shipwreck on the coast swim striaght west of the wreck and then keep swiming untill you get almost to where you fatigue bar appers if the bar appers you've gone to far look aroung there should be a small chest near some sea bubbles (you can breath) there is you pendant. now head back to moonglade connect it near where you got the quest and your done.

The local in Moonglade whom you can to speak with is theThunder Bluff flight master, Bunthen Plainswind.. or the Darnasass flight master Silva Fil'naveth.....

FOR THE HORDE !!

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility:
This one is in Sludge Fen in the north eastern barrens. Easy to see its a nasty green bog being messed up by the Venture Co mining Company. If you dive in to the nasty green water you find a chest in about the middle behind a wooden barricade just swim around and open it.

Second Piece.&nbsp Get on the road to Silverpine Forest head west.&nbsp As the road begins to turn South towards the Sepulcher, head into the woods at a Western Heading until you hit the beach.&nbsp Here you will see a&nbsp Sunken Boat.&nbsp Swim on the Surface alllll the way directly west of it until you see the shelf break off and get deeper.&nbsp You will notice A SINGLE air bubble node with a chest next to it.&nbsp Swim down and it's over.

This quest really took me a lot of time since directions were not very clear at all, especially for the second part in Westfall. By the way here it's how it goes:

1) First part is due north west of Clisspring River. the rocks you have to look for are actually one rock split in two parts with one part emerging from the water high up. It' shaped like a a "V" and the chest stand just in the middle of the junction. If you look at the map it's just north of those gropu of three little islands at 47,14 (but this coordinates are not that accurate...look around)

2) To go to Westfall took me so much time! Anyway for those of you who still keep wondering how to go there i'll try to make it clear:

A) From Auberdine go to the pier and turn left following Menethil indications. This will take you to Menethil harbour. Be sure to talk with the Gryph master in order to open a flight route.

B) Exit the little village and always follow the path eastwards. Stick to the main road and watch out for crocodiles and spiders on the road. They're usually level 20 or higher.
Following this road you will reach a series of tunnels (orcs are nearby). You have to reach Loch Modan. Kepp going ahead and at the fork you have to head southwards and keep walking. At the gryphon station open the flight route. Go ahead and u will see a passage marked by two big dwarven statues. YOu have to turn right here and follow for Dun Morogh.
Follow the road going west. Here it's really much easier. just go ahead and you will end up in Ironforge (again open the flight route).

C)Enter Ironforge and go straight towards Tinker Town where the tram station to Stormwind is. You will pass through a round portal which will teleport u into the tram station. Board the wagon and you'll end up in Stormwind (open the flight route again).

D) Exit the gates of Stormwind and follow the road. It will lead you eventually into Westfall! Yes, you made it! Here all you have to do is go southwest towards the cost where Gold Coast Qyarry area is. Dive into the sea and swim at coordinates 19,32 look down and u'll se an anchor. Now u have to turn and face the abyss. Swim into the depth of the sea until 17,32 and you'll find a bubbling fissure. Just beside it you have the chest with the pendant!

E) Teleport to Moonglade and go to the Shrine of Remulos to unite the two pieces ^_^

Ok this quest is easy once you know it, but a pain to learn it on your own, most info is off somewhere here and there so I will explain it a little better.

Step 1 in Auberdine: follow the road up north till you get to the bridge that crosses the Cliffspring River. Turn and face the beach and run towards the ocean. Crabs are in the area are yellow non agro. Jump in the water and keep going north. You will see some 18+ Treshers in the water which could be difficult for level 14 druids so be careful. Now look for a BIG rock formation that looks like a CRAB CLAW. There is a smaller formation that almost looks like it but that aint it so go past that. The one you are looking for looks just like a claw :D In between the pincers is a chest underwater with the first pendant half.

Step 2 in Westfall: Ok now this is where most of the info misleads or just doesn't quite explain this very well. Head NE to Gold Coast Quarry. Once you are there head east towards the beach. There will be Murlocs swarming all over. There will also be alot of sunken ships you can see those are NOT what you are looking for. Find the anchor on the beach that is half burried in the sand and surrounded by murlocs. Aim yourself in the direction the shaft section is laying (not the hook part, shaft being where the chain would attach if it where still part of a ship) follow the way past a tiny tall island NE. Once you pass the island on the lefthand side, dive underwater. Here is where you should see the bubble fissure after swimming down a few seconds. Just beyond that is the sunken ship which you see as you get closer, you cannot see the ship from the surface. Get to the fissure and fill up with air. Face the ship and open your tabs to your moonglade portal. When ready swim forward over the ship keeping the mast on your righthand side. Now turn around look down the chest is on the floor between the ship and some rocks. Open it loot it and IMMEDIATELY cast moonglade portal. Or you WILL die from exhaustion or lack of breathe. Viola complete, now you can become the Sea Lion and do underwater quests with ease.

I'm a Tauren, and I think what I had to do was a bit different from the previous posters experiences.

The first piece I got was in the Barrens. The location was in the upper right (north east) section of the map. I had to get through a bunch of Venture Co. guys in Sludge Fen (I think that's what it was called...). I just dove under water and searched around til I found the lock-box. Then I opened it and got the heck out of there.

The next one was all the way across the word on the other continent. I took the airship from Orgrimmar to the Undercity. Then I just headed south-west to Silverpine Forest. You jusy head all the way west to the sea edge (North Tides Hollow/Run I thnk was the area..). Along the coast you'll see a ship-wreck in the water. Go out in the water way west. I had to just dive and search around quickly then go back up for it. I ended up way out in teh water where it's really deep (I ran into the sections that give you a 'fatigue' bar that ticks down). There is a bubble clam out there though, so I focused first on finding the clam, then from the clam I found the lockbox just about straight west of that a ways. I basically ran out of air before I managed to get the piece and back to the bubble clam. You might be able to make it by heading straight up, but I dunno...

So, I hoped that helped some poeple. The druids in the Moonglen who told me my info were the 2 people by the "airport." It took me forever to find them...::sigh:: I think they're in the south-western part of the main little Moonglen village.

Ok! I'm done! Good luck! ^_^

Ketsugi and others nailed it....great directions, but I want to add a tip. For the 2nd part, coming from the Bubbly Fissure to the boat, it looks like you can go under the boat (this will eventualy lead you to go around the front).

Do yourself a favor and go right through the masts on the ship and dive down. You do NOT have to die during this part.

Good luck!

I worked my tail off last night getting this. Died once in water (didn't pay attention to fatigue)...deeeeeep and couldn't seem to get my sprite to dive, so had to res in the graveyard and run through (died twice).

Finally got to the fissure again, a buddy cast res on me when i died coming back on my first unsuccessful attemp -- 10 feet from the fissure :P

On my third try, I got it, tp'ed to Moonglade just as it all ran out. Woo Hoo.

A buddy asked "why not use a potion of underwater breathing and a swim speed potion". D'oh.

****EDIT*****
I took a screenshot of myself hovering over the site where the boat is. Ofcourse.. I am the blue dot. :) Side note, beware of reef sharks!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/aj41581/Obsidian%20SOTW/Westfallboat.jpg

Just expanding on the westfall info a bit..

Underwater as you dive past that island you will see another anchor, oriented the same way as said by Teriasis quoting his orientation here...
Aim yourself in the direction the shaft section is laying (not the hook part, shaft being where the chain would attach if it where still part of a ship)
The second anchor in on the seabed, and fairly visible from being "just submerged" unless your object clip plane is really really low.

Past that just a bit down on a ledge before going really really deep is your bubbling fissure.

Note, I swam the long way around and died down below LOL.. I think its allready been said but you really want to swim OVER the ship to its west side and get that box, might give you the seconds needed to gate out, but there is no way you would make it back up to even the bubbling fissure in time, so dont try it, although with a swim speed potion, I think you would do just peachy.. :)

If you don't have cosmos, to find the westfall pendant, start at the beach next to the gold coast quarry. There's a ship wreck there and a small island a little northwest of the shipwreck. If you go northwest from the shipwreck to the island and keep going northwest until you can't see the bottom of the ocean, you should see an anchor underwater. From the anchor go directly west a short distance and you should see a fissure with the chest next to it in the deep water.

Don't go too far west or you'll get fatigued and die.

You can breathe next to the chest and you can easily get back to the top by swimming.

For those of you with out a map coordinate add on try this:

As stated above go to the shore and swim out in line with the "GREAT" in the "The Great Sea"&nbsp title on the map.

Swim just above the small island in line with the T and locate a large boat anchor.&nbsp (Near the edge of the deep water drop off).&nbsp

Look to the shoreline and you should be able to see the Windmill. Now face West and swim out to the edge.&nbsp Yes there is a lower lip you can swim down to where the fissure is located.&nbsp To the left of it is the chest.

This lower ledge also has a shipwreck in the back ground.

Good luck.

I've confirmed the Darkshore coords. There is a rock at 48,12 and another one right next to it at 48,11. The chest is underwater right between them.

For Westfall, there's a ledge on the cliff at 17,32. The chest is right there, with the bubble fissure right next to it.

If you don't have coords, I highly suggest Titan Addon. If you don't want to use add ons, use this macro:

The pendat if easy to find, if you got the right directions. The pendat is located at 48,11 in a small box between two rock. One straight and another leaning.

How to get there..

Follow the road north of darkshore until you reach Cliffspring river bridge. Then jump in the water and just swim straight ahead. You will swim by some other rocks, follow them until you on your left sees the rock rock where on of them is leaning and the other one is bigger and straight.
There are some thrasher around, you need to kill first (lvl 17)

Hope it helped... :)

finished this quest last night. half is in Darkshore, the other half is in Westfall (human area).

the half in Darkshore is north of the Cliffpsring River, towards the sea. there's a rock formation that looks like a hand reaching up. the only parts that touch each other are the thumb and forefinger, and the strange box is on the north side of that formation. be careful, the area is swarming with monsters.

the half in Westfall is east of the Gold Coast Quarry. just past the dropoff into the sea, there's a sunken ship. there are no dangers nearby aside from the fact it's on the bottom. the pendant is located under the ship on the south side, near a wall in the sea. you should try to get close to the box as quickly as possible, because you won't survive the first time you try to get to it (between exhaustion and lack of breath). run back, try to get to the box while in ghost/wisp form, and then revive before your fatigue meter goes empty (you can die as a wisp). snatch the pendant, and cast the teleport: moonglade spell to get out.

your reward is a belt and you learn the ability to shapeshift into aquatic form.

Whether you are alliance or horde here is the easiest way to find the pendants.&nbsp Firstly do a thottbot search for "Strange Lockbox"&nbsp You will get a dozen or so outcomes.&nbsp Click on the map link next to the zone in which you need to find the lockbox (i.e. alliance would be westfall or darkshore and horde would be silverpine or barrens).&nbsp Then head to where the solid yellow dot is on the map and head down.&nbsp For more specific underwater landmarks to pinpoint the position of the pendants just read some of the posts below that describe more about that.&nbsp But at least using the maps you can be sure you are in the right area.

Okay, so far, everyone is right but I still had difficulty finding the pendant half in Westfall.&nbsp The simplest way I can think of to find it would be to go near the large thresher that is beached in Westfall.&nbsp There is no need to go near the murlocs so don't worry about doing that.&nbsp There is an island very near to the shore.&nbsp If you swim around to the other side of the island (you will be near the cliff edge) you will see a reef shark swimming around (if you don't, just wait for a minute) and when he heads north, follow him.&nbsp He will swim right past the anchor.&nbsp When you locate the anchor, make sure you have a full breath and go over the edge right where the anchor is.&nbsp You will see the air fissure and you go stand on it.&nbsp

The one in Darkshore is a little different.&nbsp If you go to the mouth of the Cliffspring river and look at your big map you will see three islands that are a little north of all the other ones.&nbsp Swim out to them.&nbsp The two furthest from shore will have 8 or 9 threshers swimming around them and the box is in the middle.&nbsp You can try to sneak in to get it but the most threshers you have to kill to get to the box is two.&nbsp

I hope everyone finds this helpful.

I'm a horde and I died 3 times when I was doing this quest. I even had double dead (my spirit died too of fatigue) because I didnt know where to look for it. So to avoid this here's a tip I can give especially for those who doesnt have cosmo like me.

1. When you get to the sunken boat. Look at your big map and swim west. Swim straight and look at your big map again. When you see that you're about 1 inch far from the boat, dive down. and you'll see a fissure. You wont see the fissure from the surface so have to swim down. You should be around 2 cms away from the T of the word GREAT of the THE GREAT SEA.

2. When you see that youre having a fatigue, that means, youre getting far from the fissure. Swim a little bcakwards then search the area again. Then you should see a lock box.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

"As a reference, the half-eaten beached Threshadon with the Greater Fleshrippers was my landmark."

To clearify this.
Go to the head of the Threshadon(or what is left of it) and aim for the north end of the island just of shore.(Try clearing a bit first so you won't get ganked by murlocs)
Now swim in this direction untill you hit the continental drop point. Bellow the surface here you should see the anchor the flight masters mentioned.
This is not by the word "GREAT", but rather in by the wort "THE" in "THE GREAT SEA" text on the world map.

Now dive down a bit and see if you can see the bubly fizure a bit further down and far down.

Your breath meter will most likely be rather low when you reach it, so swim around untill you see it and dive down do you don't suffocate dowm there.

Oh, and the ship mentioned is also there. But don't try swiming out to it.
Tried a few times but you can only get to the door and no further if you want to have a chance to return to the fizure alive.
Alternately you could ofcourse dive in and see how far you can come before you die, but i didn't feel like corpse running once again )

The other part of the quest was very accurate tho :)
