Wildkin Feather (15)

Description

Wildkin are quite unpredictable creatures, <name>. Capable of incredible gentleness, these creatures will show extreme ferocity if something they deem important is threatened.

These beasts are rumored to have been created by Elune, and I am interested in finding if this is really the truth.

Recently, I heard about a population of wildkin living in the Hinterlands -- Vicious, Primitive, and Savage Owlbeasts. They can be found amongst the wildlife there. Will you gather some wildkin feathers for me?

You collect the feathers from the ground. They are not obtained by killing Wildkin

The drops here are feathers that are found on the ground (not by killing anything). They take some wandering around to find properly - however, a lot seem to drop around Quel'Danil Lodge around (33,47).

I don't know if anyone else was as confused as I was about the wording in this quest, but this might help. The quest text sort of implies that Wildkin Feathers are dropped off the Owlbeasts themselves. After spending over an hour hunting these fools, I realized they do NOT in fact drop off the mobs. Instead the feathers are clickable items found on the ground in the areas where these Owlbeasts reside. Hope this helps!

Quest starts in the village that has the teleport to Darnassus, NPC is at 55,92. Really easy quest.

The feathers are red, white, and blue and contrast with the grass pretty sharply.&nbsp So, you should be able to spot them without having to resort to eratic cursor waving.&nbsp It seemed that they spawned most frequently in the area between The Altar of Zul and Agol'Watha.

Very easy quest, soloed this on my level 43 Paladin. All you have to do is run around the Hinterlands and open up the feathers you see lying on the ground. I went over to Quel'Danil Lodge, the mobs there are friendly to Alliance, and I collected about 10 feathers just around the lodge. 15 feathers and not 1 mob killed = easy quest xp.

you should start. you will visit all the places needed for this quest in your search
-witherbark cages
-troll neclace bounty
-preying on the predator

this quest.
favored of elune
-can be started in ruth theran village in tendrasil (i dont care about spelling)
-all you have to do is pick up those feathers that are scattered in the hinterlands
-this is not hard at all.
if you pick up all you see, you should have enough to finish the quest when you finish everything

troll neclace bounty
get all the troll neclace in 23,58 where you can open the cages. you will get all you need if you kill most of the trolls in that area

preying on the predator
-mangy wolves can be found on the way to 23,58 coming from aerie peak. if u kill all the wolves in your way to 23,58 you should have the 10 killed by teh time you get there
-the silvermanes can be found by the 3rd cage, a little to the north of it.

witherbark cages
1st cage- 23,58
2nd cage- 23,58
3rd cage- 31,58

this said, i solod this as a 43 full platewarrior and it was very easy.

Just south and southeast of the city I found tons of feathers all over the place. I'm not sure why this quest is so high lvl, but it gave 1g, 35s and I got 4200 xp as a lvl 47 warrior. Talk about easy!

The feathers are littered all over the ground. Might have to run around a bit, but they're very plentiful and in close distances of eachother. Took approximately 5 mins to collect all the feathers. It's quicker when you have a mount :P

For those that do not know the way to Hinterlands, like me, you need to get to Southshore, which is northwest of Wetlands. Go northeast from there, Hillsbrad Foothills and make your way to the back of Durnholde Keep. There is a path that leads to Hinterlands and is apparently the only way to get there.

If you just circle around Quel'Danil Lodge and look on the ground, the feathers will be plentiful and easy to find.
South and east of the lodge will yeild the most.

I did this quest two days ago and foun it extramelt easy! I don't get all the fussing about this. There were several others doing the same quest and all I did was follw the mountian line over the the Lodge collecting feathers all the way. I finished it up in less then 5 mins even with all the others running around agrroing stuff and dranging stuff towards me. Very easy to do on a Rogue at lvl 44.

As everyone else has noted, you don't need to kill the wildkin for the feathers. They are scattered liberally on the ground. I followed the mountain line northeast from Aerie Peak to Agol'Watha and had this quest completed in about 20 minutes. Watch out for level 45 wolves and level 47+ oozes, and the random 42+ wildkin.

I found the Wintersrping pick-up-feathers quest to be more irritating than the one in Hinterlands. The feathers tend to be much fewer and farther in between, and of course, the beasts are high lvl. I don't know if they spawn in the same places all the time, but in case they do, here's where I picked mine up...

Done. Had to fight 2 Wolves and 3 Owlbears (simple mistake of not letting them walk far enough away).

The above comments are right. They are NOT dropped, they are on the ground. Simply around around XX,50 (where XX is anywhere along that line within 10-20) and you'll easily pick up 15 within 10-15 minutes.

Rogues will have it SLIGHTLY easier, as will Night Elves, simply because they can be unseen and thus bypass the battles.

GREAT quest for EXP if you don't feel like fighting. Certainly worth the EXP if you have the equipment and feel light fighting, too!

These feathers are located on the ground throughout Hinterlands. They don't drop off the Owlbeasts. I fount a great deal of them around Quel'Danil Lodge, a place with no aggroes unless you go outside of it.

When I got aggro, I just ran it off. You have to be careful though not to run in the wrong direction and aggro more mobs. Its kind of like an obstacle course.
