If I remember correctly this item was in PTR for patch 1.11 and it was a locked rogue's diary that couldn't be open no matter what skill. I guess they removed it because it rogues seemed more frustrated then humored. The origin of this version I'm not to sure of.
Ah, but as a rogue, you want to be unseen, unheard, and unnoticed. If you can get this rogue's diary, then perhaps someone can get yours, and find out just what you've been up to.
The one thing that makes me think this is one of Blizzard's ways of being snarky is that the book is gray. It's vendor-bait. If it started a quest or had a trade use, the name would be in white. *Shrug.* Just my $.02, but I found one just the other day and am pretty certain it's nothing but a way to annoy Rogues.
Burning Crusade will have a lvl 70 cap so skills should go upto 350, perhaps then yer able to pick it, with or without the gloves, gheh, keeping mine vaulted just in case, i bet blizzard didn't think of that when they made that drop, unless it requires 999 lockpick already orso ^^
Ugh..this sux. I had that book in the bank for a while and hoping to unlock it...now 9/26/2006 ..they changed it to the "All pages are blank" no lock anymore. I think it is a vendor trash =(
It's blizzards way of being funny. It's supposed to be ironic. It's doubtful they ever intended it to do anything other than amuse rogues. Unfortunately, in typical blizzard fashion they managed to anoy the $%^& out of players as well. I'm sure many 60s have searched far and wide for any possible way to unlock this.
It's not supposed to be opened, doh... it's a diary of a rogue with a lock on, it's supposed to be hard to lockpick and even the rogue itself can't do it.
