In the Barrens, on a hill southwest of Crossroads there is a small shrine. On it there is a memorial dedicated to an Orc with the initials 'M-K'. M K was Michel Koiter, a Blizzard illustrator who passed away during the development of World of Warcraft. If you visit the memorial you'll find a spirit healer named Koiter.

I'm Alliance but that doesn't mean that I can't go to the barrens.
I went to the shrine with my rogue and it looked great, the orc looked really cool the way he held his sword, and everything had perfect Graphics.
It was really nice of Blizzard to do this for Michel.

Another thing to post is that Koiter's spirit can be targeted even when you are dead,and is friendly for both alliance and horde.

it is west to XR. when you leave xr on the road, its on the next hillfoot, that nearly touches the street. you need to climb a little, but no biggie.

I hang around Xr alot, and never saw him before. But I'm lvl 40 now and on my mount and he is righ there, I thought it was a quest or something so I searched on this site. He is visible to me alive.

I can see the Spirit Healer when I'm alive if I go to the shrine on my 60 human Priest.

When I went to visit the Shrine on my 20 Undead Priest, I couldn't see the angel. Hmm.

Michael Koiter was a illustrator for Blizzard who passed away during the production of WoW. The shrine and the spirit healer are in memory of him. A really cool memorial, if you ask me.

In the Barrens, south-west of the Crossroads on a hill is a memorial dedicated to an orc with the initials "M-K". Michel Koiter was an illustrator at Blizzard who died during the making of the game. To reach the memorial, follow a ridge to the southeast of the hill. Half-way up, you will find the base of a mound. Go up the trail to reach the memorial. If you visit the memorial in spirit form, you’ll find a spirit healer named Koiter. --Wikipedia

Was walking back from a quest and noticed something up on the hill that I never saw before. Turned on Eagle Eye and checked it out. I saw the shrine and then a few seconds later I saw the Spirit Healer. I walked up there, same thing, waited a few seconds and the SH showed up.
