It's believed he is named after Doctor Evil's cat from the Austin Powers movies.
Also, contrary to popular belief, killing him has no effect on the mobs in the instance (ie, making them harder).

Kel'Thuzad must have stolen him from Dr. Weavil (another Austin Powers nod).
When Naxxramas was first released, it was believed that killing Mr. Bigglesworth had certain effects on the dungeon, such as increasing the drop rate of epic items from trash mobs, modifying boss difficulty, etc. This is false; killing Mr. Bigglesworth has no effect other than making Kel'Thuzad yell at you.

Anyway...When you kill it the lich king yells that you are gona pay for this...Blizzard raelly makes you wana wonder if you should have killed that cat ^^....Trying to get the cat to kill me. since i have no health regen i should die for about a hour if i am nakid with it's 1-3 dmg ^^

Wait a second... It says there has been 0 kills to this little kitten but yet he's been killed by every one of you. (Except those of you who never been to Naxxramas.) So is that number actually monitored or is it just a false waste of space (POS). Reply.

Nope...you get epic drops if you off the kitty. Our guild has argued about it so many times that it's become a running joke. We have had the Servo Arm, Harbinger of Doom ( yay me ) and a handfull of other epic trash drops after killing the cat, so that rumor is null. There was a rumor that when you kill the cat all the mobs health increase 10% but that seems to be BS too.
And if any of these rumors are true a GM will never tell you if it is or not. I think Bliz put the kitty in there to make people argue and scare them when the cat dies in an AoE and you get the big Yell emote...LOL

This is a raid boss! He dosnt drop any loot sadly :(

When you kill Mr. Bigglesworth Iblis has a chance of dropping off instructer in spider wing. i got 5 diff guilds to test it, the 4 guilds that never killed the cat did not get Iblis to drop. the guild that did got 3 iblis. each of them killed instructor 3 times in this test.
