The mechanical chicken looks just like the (NPC #62119) wild pet, and shares the same pet abilities. Because it was a quest reward from (Quest #3721), even if you have multiple copies from different characters, you won't be able to put it in a cage. However, if you still have the original (Item #10398) quest reward that actually teaches the pet, it's only Bind on Use. You can sell that.
