Bathran's Hair (5)

Description

There is a plant that once grew in the old ruins of Bathran's Haunt to the north. The plant was called Bathran's Hair and was known to cure ailments of the spirit.

There is a sick child in the village, and I believe it is more than just a physical illness. Will you go to Bathran's Haunt and search it for Bathran's Hair? I may need it to properly treat the child.

Bathran's Haunt lies north of Maestra's Post and just south of the border to Darkshore.

What you're looking for is Bathran's Hair...so it would probably be found around Bathran's Haunt, right?&nbsp And you'd be right.

1.&nbsp The Bathran's Hair is found in plant bundles on the ground.&nbsp Just look for em, they're around.

2.&nbsp You can find them at 31, 24, around the Ruins of Ordil'Aron.

Just slow down and read the quest and then look on your map.&nbsp It may seem like it takes longer to do but will save you time in scrambling around...

You get Batharan Hairs from items called "Plant Bundles" on the ground. They are small and they are hard to see.

This is where I found them:

They were all bundles - I have no idea what that other person meant by brown cones (which I imagined to be like fel cones).

They are actually like small stacks of hay tied at the top. I'm a gnome and they were almost as tall as me to give you some idea of height!

30-24 (this one was sorta "buried" in the ground so it was the hardest to see)
31-22 (i got 3 here within 10 minutes, they respawned pretty quickly)right behind the small curved wall.
33-20 (at the base of the slope on the northwest side).
I would assume there were more, but, these were the ones I found.

This was an annoying quest, but very doable. gl!

This quest can be frustrating as the undead roaming at the site Bathran`s Hunt can be make it difficult. There are many of them and there are patrols of two walking around the site. If you want to avoid unexpected corpse runs do the following.

Identify these three locations (all located at thesouth end of Bathran`s hunt area)

31,23
30,25
30,24

A plant bundle should be at one of these. Loot it. Now, travel from one location to the next until a new plant bundle spawns. The plant bundle will respawn at any one of these three locations. There is no need to venture further north in search of more. The respawn rate is pretty fast, about 30-50 seconds.

Follow the road north towards Darkshore. Off the road to the east (right) you will find a plant bundle at 29,23 that respawns about every 30-45 seconds. Just camp that spot 5 times and quest done!

The first time I did this quest (over a year ago now) I couldn't see the bundles unless I was right on top of them.&nbsp Now I have a better monitor and, doing it again, the items are easy to spot.

If you're having trouble seeing them I'd suggest turning up your brightness/contrast as a first step - never know, it might help!

I had no problem doing this with my 22 hunter.. just travel north along the road, and head to coordinates 31,25 ad 30,24.. alternate between these two coords.. they respawn very quickly, so you shouldnt have any trouble.. plus, the spawn is further north, so you dont have to worry about anything killin you! good luck!

This quest is very easy if you have Herbalism as profession and 'Find Herbs' on. So it could be helpfull if you would take a friend with you that is a herbalism-char, he could kill the NPC and stand near the "Plant Bundles".

Ok, so this is my take on them.

Think of the way straw was bundled in "the old days".... it kind of looks like a straw hut - all the straw is standing up and it is bound together with another piece around the top.

These "teepees" are about the height of a gnome but blend into the background real well.
Hope this helps.

this quest almost made me throw my computer out the window.
i would clear the area out around bundles, and then this damn group of 3 thugs would come up and murder me. this happened several times.

This is a very simple quest...did it at level 23 frost mage. Go on the road north from Astranaar to 27,21 turn right down the path to the ruins...you will find the hair growing from the ground in different spots. I only had one respawn in the same place one time, but looked around and found more. Had to kill a few of the mobs with no problem.

I've seen numerous posts on this site, as well as others claiming that this quest chain can be obtainable at level 19. That would be great since one of the quest rewards for the final part of the chain are some very nice shoulders at that level. However, at level 19 I am unable to get this quest from the quest NPC, Orendil Broadleaf. He has a silver ! over his head, which leads me to believe that this quest is truly obtainable at level 20, as the websites specifically state.

My question is.. Can you really get this quest at level 19? If so, am i missing some hidden pre-requisite quest or some sort of trick to it? And if in fact it is not obtainable until level 20, then what are these people talking about when they think and say that you can get it at 19? If anyone knows please fill me in, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
