Description

So excited I am!

Three little cages for three little elves! But what shall we do with our lovely tree-hugging friends? Why, let's give them a taste of... what do they call it... forest magic!

I'll need a good mess of Stonetalon sap. From those horrid felines, bring me some twilight whiskers. This calls for plenty of courser eyes, of course -- can never have enough eyes. Oh, and lest we forget, a precious scale from a fey dragon.

Hurry to Stonetalon Peak, <name>, so I can brew some forest magic!

Since nobody has even gave a shat about posting the coordinates after people asked like 4 times I took the liberty of finding the coordinates of the items and creatures required to complete this quest.
Items:

~Stonetalon Sap~
Creature = Sap Beast (not the corrosive sap beasts!)(reasonably fast drop rate)
Coordinates: around 49,36 , 32,16 , 48,57

~Twilight Wisker~
Creature = Twilight Runner (Have patience, retarded drop rate)
Coordinates: around 32,11

~Courser Eye~
Creature = Example: Antlered Courser (also found elsewhere, Greater Courser)
Coordinates:&nbsp 45,25 , 50,35

~Fey Dragon Scale~
Creature = Example: Fey Dragon (also found elsewhere, Wily Fey Dragon)
Coordinates: 32,11

Coordinates of Jin'Zil To either get the quest or turn in the items: 74,97

Enjoy!

All the mobs for this quest are found by walking from Mirkfallen Lake up to Stonetalon peak, the coursers are the Elk type mobs, the Twilights are the cat mobs, stonetalon sap is an uncommon drop from Sap beast and of coruse the Fey dragon scale is from the dragonkin there(lvl 26-27). The eyes dropped 2 at a time for every mob killed so that was easy. Got the scale on first kill. BNut the sap seems to be rather rare, killed 7 so far and no drop. Also, take care as the peak is an entry point for Alliance.

Get ready for low-drop rate madness. The first two items Jin'Zil asks for have a pretty low drop rate. For the sap, kill the various Sap Beasts in the area. There are some north of the lake as well as a lot more in the northwestern part of Stonetalon Peak. However, the mobs in the Stonetalon Peak area tend to be higher level, including Corrosive Sap Beasts.

For the twilight whiskers, kill the Twilight Runners. These are only found in Stonetalon Peak, in the northeast part of that area. Be careful not to run near the Alliance area while hunting Runners.

The courser eyes drop off any courser in Stonetalon Peak, around the lake, or in the valley connecting the two. Thankfully, the drop rate on eyes is 100% and you get two eyes for every kill.

The fey dragon scale drops off any fey dragon, all found in the Stonetalon Peak area. Drop rate is 100% and you only need one.

Two dangers to be aware of. First, there is an elite night elf that patrols down from The Den in the west-northwest. Be alert when fighting those sap beasts and twilight runners. Second, there is a fey dragon that patrols the perimeter of Stonetalon Peak. This mob is level 27, making it the highest level creature next to the aforementioned night elf and the guys in the Alliance outpost. Since this quest is easily done at level 23-24, the level 27 fey dragon can likely kick your butt. Stay aware.

You can easily double this quest up with Cenarius' Legacy, as the mobs needed for that quest are in the same area.

Coursers: are everywhere!&nbsp From the lake to the peak, easy kill, eyes drop every time and for 2.&nbsp good leather.

Oozes (sap beasts): There is a large amount of the saps 12ish to the left when you enter the Peak from the Lake area.&nbsp Drop rate is low, I agree around 30%.

Fey:&nbsp It looks like there are a few spawn spots at the peak:
1: with the oozes to the left.
2: To the right and back as you enter the peak.
3:&nbsp Down the center and to the right behind all the Cenariuns in the forest area.&nbsp You can skim around the peak cliff to the right and then head into the valley.&nbsp Got scale first drop.

Twilights:&nbsp Spawn in 2 places.&nbsp Just as you enter from the south, there is a stone arch.&nbsp To the right is a fallen tree.&nbsp That is spot one.&nbsp To the left is a pillar in 4 pieces, that is spot 2.&nbsp These are random spawn spots.&nbsp I noticed they showed up more often when kept clear of all spawn.

My twilight drop rate:
1 in first 15
4 in last 5

The differnce was I autolooted (shift rclick) the first 15 and just looted (rclick) the last 5.&nbsp Not sure if it really matters, but it seemed to help

Coordinates are helpful for those with the programs, but for those of us who dont use them, area descriptions help.&nbsp Dont stop listing Coords, just list dscrs with them and you will assist everyone.

It took me a while to find him, but the Witch Doctor is located in the the small little village of "Malaka' Jin."&nbsp He is in the very back of the village in the cave.&nbsp
(For thoughs of you who do not know where Malaka' Jin is, its toward the entrance to the Barrens)

As folks have previously posted - there are saps around the lake but I got most of mine in Stonetalon Peak area.&nbsp Seemed to drop about every 3rd kill.

The Twilight cats are definitely more in the far northern part - around 33,8 - 33, 10.&nbsp At first, again every 3rd but the last two dropped one after the other.

(I suggest that you go around the mountain side to stay away from the cenarions - unless you got the quest "Cenarius' Legacy" from Braelyn Firehand.)

There are fel dragonkins to your left as you enter and to your right.&nbsp There are even some in the northern area - but you need only 1.

By all means, kill the coursers in the safe area along the path and they drop 2 every kill.

Easy peasy.

OH! One of the coursers dropped a blue! Dagger called Blackfang 16.3 DPS!

I would agree that this is a pain in the ass for a group. So many items to get and they don't drop each and every time. I solo'd this one at 25 with a 25 pet. The only issue you need to worry about is the level 27 Elite Night Elf prowling the area. since this is a Horde quest you'll be instant KOS with her. So, keep your blades shard and eyes open.

My result:
You gain 2100 experience.
Your reputation with Darkspear Trolls has increased.

Worst drop rate is from the twilight runners which seems to be around 25%. The others items are easy to get. Twilight runners are near the Stonetalon Den BUT be careful, there is an elite roaming there, i got own by her, it's a level 30ish druid npc that attack in cat form. Her name is Sentinel Amarassan.

PISSY GRUMBLE MODE:
I wish people would spend more time looking at the data than asking for spoonfed tutorials...

If you look up Stonetalon Sap (link above) it clearly shows that it has never dropped off of a Corrosive beast, maybe if you only killed the real Sap Beasts your "drop rate" would improve...

Don't bother with the two spawn points near where the road enters the peak area.&nbsp There are not enough cats there to bother and you'll be waiting on respawns all night.&nbsp

As soon as you enter the area, cut to the left and work your way around and you will find tons of sap mobs.&nbsp You will also find a roaming fey or two.&nbsp Be on the lookout for a roaming Sentinel Assassin (27 elite) however.

For the cats, basically go to the opposite side of the Cenarion(sp) area as where the road comes in (around 32,11 as mentioned above) and there will be at least 8 or so in the same area.&nbsp By the time you kill them, more will be respawning.&nbsp

I found the drop rate for the saps most annoying; but I found the best way to get everything is to work your way around the temple thing in the middle of the clearing. Just kill everything you see, except for the alliance guys by the moonpool and in the house(which you definitely want to avoid), and keep and eye out for http://classicdb.ch/?npc=4017 which will kick your butt if you're not careful. I was a 23 druid, and I had problems with it even.

A 'lock and I got all the stuff for the quest in around an hour and a half; it took longer because the sap's drop rate was suck.

The saps drop from the Sap Beasts, which are located around mirkfallon lake, and towards the southern part of stonetalon peak. The whiskers drop from the twilight runners, I found a lot of them on the northern part of Stonetalon Peak. I killed 13 of them and got the whiskers, they drop pretty often, just be patient. Fey Dragons and Wily Fey Dragons are found towards the northern area also. The courser eyes are just about the easiest part of the quest, since they are located everywhere between the lake and peak... and they drop the eyes at 100% drop rate, at pairs of 2 (obviously)

Hardest part was the Sap. Took me FOREVER! I must have gone through 50+ Sap Beasts AT LEAST. Stick with it though, I found a plentiful supply starting around 39,18 and continuing on eastward but I had to farm it a couple of times because of the insanely low drop rate =/

ok this is how i did it and i find this the easy way to start with the corsers cos thay will take the longest i did this at lvl 26 so thay were easy for me the corsers are at the south westish part of the peak and are also on the path on the way up after that go for the twilight panthers thay are at the north and west part of the peak and prehaps some other parts then go for the sap beasts now i have to admit that the drop rate on these isnt very good took me a while to get the sap thay are east of the way you go in and west of the middle (when i mean the middle i mean the part where the daughters and sons of cenarious spawn) and finally the easyest on of all the feydragon whitch will be in random places on the peak well thats how i did it (im sorry if the parts eg east west are incorrect plz correct them for me if thay are wrong).

I agree it is long, but it only took about 45 minutes. I did it solo...25 Undead Rogue. I'm not saying that I'm cool for doing it in such a short period of time, either. Those people are annoying. Get on during peak times in the day, and they will drop. AS for someone saying just to use melee...that was a complete coincidence. I did it both ways, and nothing dropped any faster.
If you go into Stonetalon Peak, and take a left...follow the mountains around. You can kill everything you need that way. I never ran across any elite. Only the one standing guard at the mine shaft....and he was only a 25 elite.
