Shredding Machines

Kill the shredders XT:4 and XT:9, then return to Seereth Stonebreak at the border of the Stonetalon Mountains and the Barrens.

Description

There is a relation to the spiritual magic of shaman and the natural magic of druids. This is why we shaman can hear the plea of the spirits of Stonetalon. Many of their whisperings are lost to me, but one message, one vision, is clear...

I saw a vision of two man-shaped machines in Windshear Crag, northwest of Greatwood Vale, felling trees with impossible speed. These metal beasts must be stopped!

In my vision, the machines were marked with strange symbols:

XT:4 and XT:9.

These two mobs partrol the Windshear Crag in Stonetalon

The XT:4 patrols the North Northwest portion of the Crag. Exact spawn point = (67,46)

The XT:9 patrols the South portion of the Crag. I killed it at coord = (67,56)

They are a slower spawn. Takes about 5 minutes after they are killed.

if you look on your map you will see a tower in the N/NW part of the Windshear Crag. the XT4 will spawn just east of that structure. it spawns sort of on the path east of it. spawn time is 5-10 mins max. there's also an elite there and the XT 4 spawned on me twice once while clearing the mobs around the elite and the once while attacking it lol. luckily the XT4 is a wuss. hope this helps. the XT9 spawns and roams on the eastern edge of the crag.

This one is simple but a pain at times. The two mobs you need are wandering mobs and they tend to wander in the areas with the most concentration of aggro mobs. Surprisingly both were easy to take down with a pet. To hunt these head to Windshear Crag to the clear cut area with the lumber company. You'll need to keep an eye out for a 24+elite mob. Wasn't sure if I could take him but I did. He's human so when you whittle away at his health he'll do the death run at a low level. Just snare him and beat the stuffing out of him some more. He dropped me a nice [Defender Tunic of the Bear]. To bad I can't using.

OK - There is a big-daddy giganto broken down shredder thing at 63,54

The XT9 is around this!

found the x-4 pretty quick, around the building with the crane to the north (marked on your map). then i went looking for the x-9, found it just south of the building with the saw (also marked, just in that place where the river makes a U-turn) butit disappeared before my eyes o.O Found it again after a while though, in the same area...just stick to those areas and they will come around

The XT:4 came around to 67,47 by the tower with the plane.&nbsp While waiting for it, kill some of the NPCs.

The XT:9 started up his patrol around 68,57 - kill some NPCs while waiting for him as well.

He does seem to wander the area south of the river.&nbsp I suspect he spawns near Windshear mine and then walks west from there.&nbsp

Just wait by the spawn points mentioned above and they will walk by in about 1-5min.&nbsp Killed both quickly this way.

XT:4 is easy, just about northwest/southwest to the really big machine tree chopper.
XT:9 is directly west to that, he wanders in a BIG circle, so it may take you a while before either of them come. They found me, so I'm just telling you how I killed them.

Found xt4 at 66,48 there is a small hill peak just kinda&nbsp south east of the heli pad or tower, i sat there for about 2 minutes facing north he finally respawned in front of me.

there are 2 broken shredders one around 64.50 and 66,45

they patrol around these machines. i went to both of these machines and they were right in the area. if you just go random scouting you will be throwing things at the computer. good luck

As you come north through the spider area, the XT:9 is located to your right, before you get to the river. The XT:4 is located to your left after you cross the river.

For the XT:9, you can kill a wandering stegosaurus (I forget the real name) in the nearby foothills and pull the XT:9 to there as it wanders by. Easy.

For the XT:4, I watched the mob pathing for a minute and picked a spot in the middle of everything for pulling. Nothing added during the fight so just be careful and be quick.

Did this as a 23 Tauren Shaman, and could have done it a level or 2 earlier I think.

64.45 to 66.46
He seemed to spawn up by the lake at 64.45 ish,
and started moving towards 66.46 where i killed him, it was the safest place.
1650 XP at lvl 21.

And Foreman Rigger does drop crap, he's not worth the time.

I did this quest solo on my 20 Warlock. Just sent in the Voidwalker to tank and then Immolate, Corruption, Curse of Agony, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt. I did this for both the XT:9 and XT:4 and they dropped like it was hot.

Coordinates that people give may be accurate or inaccurate because they both wander in circles around Windshear Crag. Just walk around for a little while and you will most likely spot them.
