A Gnome's Respite

Kill 10 Venture Co. Loggers, and 10 Venture Co. Deforesters and return to Gaxim Rustfizzle in Stonetalon.

Description

You see, <name>, I'm a member of the Enlightened Assembly of Arcanology, Alchemy and Engineering Sciences, and it's my goal... nay, my DUTY! to show the night elves that a blend of magic, mixtures, and mechanisms can help save their forests.

But it's a hard fought war, and the goblins reproduce like rabbits it seems. I haven't even had time to build my newest inventions!

I need some time to plan and organize. But to do that, I need your help keeping the goblins at bay in Windshear Crag to the east...

The Venture Company is at 63, 60 and further north east
Loggers are spread out, deforesters are focused inside the logging house.

Every time I do this quest, I forget to pick up the prerequisite (Quest #1070). Since it starts in Astranaar, that's a bit of a trip.

Once you do complete "A Gnome's Respite", two more quests open up:You'll need to do both of those, as well as their respective follow-ups, to continue the quest line. "A Scroll from Mauren" sends you to Stormwind, while "An Old Colleague" is in Ironforge, so prepare to do some globetrotting.

If you stray down to the center area of the Logging Mill, you may run into a level 24 Elite named Foreman Rigger https://classicdb.ch/?npc=5931#M0z 
Watch out for him as he hits hard and will net you. He has about 1900 health.

Location 63,55 is correct. Deforesters are more difficult to find. Easy solved with a priest lvl 20. The quest giver is located at 59,67

I was led in to Stonetalon Mountains so I am unfamiliar with the path that leads me back to the questor. I understand he is not on the main road. Does anyone know how to guide me back to him from Stonetalon Peak?

OMFG what a TIMESINK this quest is.&nbsp boringboringboringboring... there are NOT ENOUGH Deforesters.&nbsp I killed 10 Loggers in 5 minutes, and then spent 30 minutes trying to get enough deforesters. for a whopping 1650 exp at lvl 21 :-6&nbsp This is a quest blizzard went way too F'N far in trying to maximize the amount of time it takes ppl to level.&nbsp This is the same zone with at least two rare spawns that are FAR MORE difficult than comparable mobs anywhere else, and then, they both drop nothing but trash.&nbsp I will be skipping this entire zone on all other chars from now on.

Did this late as a 24 Druid found it really easy.&nbsp The loggers appear more then the deforesters but cat form in stealth helped me pick my way through.&nbsp Roughly around 63,55 for those with Cosmos
