Description

Gnolls, brutish creatures with no decent business in these lands, have been seen along the borders of Elwynn Forest. A large pack of them, many more than we can handle alone, have infested the woods south of the guard tower yonder. Another group has infested the areas near Stone Cairn Lake to the east.

The Stormwind Army will commend whomever helps kill them. Bring me their painted gnoll armbands as proof of your deed.

Mobs are near the river...28.0-90.0 and north to the road. Level 10's...its easy to get over taken by them...drop rate is a little slow.

The droprate is awfull about 15%.

The location for this starts at around 70.37, there is 2 camps beside each other, In the first camp you can also pick up things from a battered Chest and in the second camp you find som water in the barrels beside the tent !

They are lvl 9 and 10, but it will take a while to get the stuff as they don't dropp very often..

I found a good drop rate in the camps around 24,91 in Elwynn Forest. Then you turn it back into the guy at the westbrook garrison where you picked it up from.

(Item #1307) what this says, I don't believe the gnolls in mulgore or duskwood drop this. Wouldn't really make sense seeing as this is a level 7 item for an Alliance Elwynn Forest quest. The gnolls in the multiple camps just south of the garrison that you can kill for this quest will drop this. My BF got his off of Gruff, which I'm thinking is pretty rare. I've got it with 2 different characters off of regular gnolls there though.

The camp is actually located North by North West of the lake. I did this one solo at 11. The Gnolls were good xp and dropped about 10c each kill.

Stick to the outside along the creek and river to pull so as not to get overwhelmed. Some will pull in twos or threes so avoid the campsites in solo. This is best done in a party. Try not to go too deep in to avoid accidentally pulling pats.

Do this in a group alongside Hogger. Kill two quests easily. Hogger can also drop an armband. I generally recommend groups go along the bank and kill Hogger first.
