Fine Crab Chunks (6)

Description

I love crab. Crabs are the fruit of the sea! You can bake it, barbecue it, boil it, and broil it. They're pan fried, deep fried, and stir fried. There's crab salad, crab soup, crab stew, pepper crab, lemon crab, whipper root crab, and Ironforge surprise crab. That's... that's about it.

I'm here fishing right now, so I can't get any fine crab chunks. You can pick them out of reef crawlers and encrusted tide crawlers. You can make a lot with it. You can bake it, barbecue it, boil it...

For those of you who do not have cosmos you can find reef crawlers and encrusted tide crawlers south to southwest of Auberdine on the beach.&nbsp I believe it is considered twilight shore.&nbsp It is way down the beach way past Ameth 'Aran&nbsp At level 17 I killed them easily by myself in bear form.&nbsp They are between lvl 16 - 18.&nbsp Good luck!

I have a level 60 and a bunch of alts who have done this quest, and this time around I acctually read the quest, did anyone else notice the Forest Gump reference? Bubba Gump Shrimp, and the NPC is named Glubber Blumb, and he talks about all the ways to prepare the crabs like Bubba talks about the shrimp. haha that rocks!

This quest is a Forest Gump Knock off. Clearly the part with Making Crab stew, crab chuncks and everything else is from the guy who lists everything you can make from shrimp in Forest Gump.&nbsp This type of series can be related to the quests like Linken's Boomerang in Un'goro, another knock off on Zelda.&nbsp Very interesting how Blizzard puts these quests in the game.

These can also be found off of the "Encrusted Reef Crawlers" and possibly the "Raging Reef Crawlers".. However those are a bit higher lvl (16+). I died on one of the encrusted ones because I wasnt paying attention to their level. If you want to fight those they are further east from the normal Reef crawlers, Loc is 53, 18 and further to the east. Hope this helps!

Has anyone else noticed that the drop for this is after 4 or 5 kills? Not really annoying, I'm all for more XP...just wondering if anyone else noticed.

Ok, I found that it was really easy and I was a level 15 priest. They can be difficult to find but just keep on walking and you'll get there. I found that the Reef Crawlers were easier.

I usually do the Gubber Blump quests first thing when I get a new character to Auberdine. However, after the last patch the "Fruit of the Sea" quest isn't offered after finishing the Blump fishing pole quest. Have they deep 6'd this quest?

I just finished it on Thursday, so I doubt they axed it. But I can't remember if I picked it up before or after the patch. It might be a level requirement.

Some of the level 15 reef crawlers have them--at about the same rate as the 16s and 17s. If you're level 16 or lower, definitely don't waste your time with the 17s. I didn't even need to go after any encrusted tide crawlers.

Definately not axed, as I'm working on it now after picking it up last night.

If I remember right (it was reeealy late) the NPC didn't actually have the second ! over his head until I hit lv15.

Completed the quest with a level 16 hunter (and level 16 pet). I went to the beach by Cliffspring River. The encrusted tide crawlers were about level 18-20, and so I struggled with them. I found the reef crawlers about level 17, killed them easily enough. Drop rate was about 65%.

Good locations for the Reef Crawlers is [49,21] they should be levels 15-17. Also while you're there you can venture just a little to the west at pick up Beached Sea Turtle quest at [44,21]. They turtle body has a few mobs from 14-16 in level around it, they shouldn't be a problem.

I dont know if its just me, but the drop rate of the crab chunks seems to be terrible. This quest took me ~1 hour... Yet wowhead says the droprate isnt that bad.
