Blackrock Bounty

Kill 15 Blackrock Champions and Guard Howe in Lakeshire will reward you.
  •
Blackrock Champion slain (15)

Description

The Blackrock Clan must be destroyed. The Enemy has invaded our lands. These mountains fall under the sovereign right of the King of Stormwind. Our sources tell us that the leaders of each unit within the Clan are known as Champions. You'll find them in their encampment to the north, just west of the road to the Burning Steppes.

Magistrate Solomon wants these foul brutes dead. Slay 15 Blackrock Champions and return to me.

The actual location is at 33,6. There are only a few champions on the outside camp, but in the cave there are more.

The coords given above are wrong......the champs are located in the cave at 33, 8, just past the Render's camp at Render's Rock.

And another thing to note, most Champions have a few buddies nearby, it's a good idea to bring along a Tank, Healer, and some support.

The Warlock style mobs in this area are the biggest pain...they are all grouped up in packs of 2-3...Expect to kill at least that many with each pull...another note is that they run...and will bring other party's to kill you just that much faster...grab a friend or 3 and hit this hard...look inside the cave for the escort quest...that should make this worth wild...(hes in the cave follow the left most path round the little pond inside and in the back cave there...)

Ouch.

Basically stealthing through gives you a better idea of gauging aggro-ranges between targets, and checking out the likelyhood of you pulling multiple targets (for Rogues, and once every five minutes, but whatever...) Basically for non Rogues and Druids I suggest getting a group for this one, or at least bring some potions if you're somewhat confident taking on two mobs or more at once.

For Rogues, I suggest stealthing through to the right fork of the cave. Eliminate the Blackrock Champions there, pull one or two from the cave opening, and you can find a few more deeper down that fork. If you don't, you can just wait in that large room there for respawns, as it shouldn't take too long. Voil! Quest complete!

Done as a lv 25 Rogue.

<3~ tcha!

They are in the back cave to the left of the road on the way up to the Burning Steppes. You have to go through a camp of Blackrocks before reaching the champions.

26 priest solo'd, would suggest taking a group unless you can heal.

It isn't as bad as some make it out to be...

As a 23 warrior I certainly couldn't solo through it,.. As is expected of the class.&nbsp Those summoners really get the best of you with 2 others to worry about.

Anyhow,.. I nabbed a 21 warlock, and we fought all the way through the cave,.. Came close to dieing a few times,.. but hell, we are well under the mark of level.&nbsp Was a good challenge.

A full group would definitely make this endeavor trivial, but duo'ing it in your low 20's is definitely feasible.

I'd imagine a 23-25 Hunter, Lock etc.. could solo it if done just right.&nbsp Some of the more powerful classes in the realm of solo play can often do the workload of 2.

As for the location, it is, indeed, at the end of the "road",.. As the quest says, to the west of the road to the Burning Steppes.&nbsp So right before you see the burning steps entrance, just take the path to your left.. It is also marked on the map as "Rends".

Good luck.

Don't go in if someone's just been there.&nbsp Went in the cave and killed two Champions.&nbsp Then EVERYbody respawned, and while running the gamut back out of the area, I had to try to make my way past every single respawn.&nbsp Couldn't keep alive, even with Druid's excellent healing ability.&nbsp The Summoners are deadly with their fire bolts -- avoid like the plague or kill them off FAST!

Oddly the escort quest can be done at lvl19.

It's important to note that these guys are very closely packed and always run for help--which is never more than two steps away. Crowd control is ESSENTIAL; once they run, it's over.

If you don't have good CC abilities or a partner, I recommend waiting until this quest is green for you--at least level 27-28.

Taking this as a shaman is easy: just pull them 1-2 at a time with lightning bolt, watch for the 3 pulls (normally a tracker or two with a summoner as you're running in, and then a summoner and 2 champs as you're inside), because they might get you killed if you aren't careful. Use your stoneskin totem to mitigate the damage and heal at will. Use your earth shock to interrupt the casting of the Summoners.

Should be easy enough, I did it at lvl 25 solo.

Solo'd it as a 23 rogue. Pretty easy, you just have to be really careful with the aggro since the mobs tend to be really close to eachother.
Vanish will be really useful here.
All other classes should bring a group.

quest gives decent experience and is the preq for some nice elite quests

follow the path to the northwest of Lakeshire up to the Render camp. you'll fight a bunch of Blackrock Orcs and at the North end of the camp you'll find the Render cave and its filled with Blackrock Champions

you can also find a Lakeshire soldier inside the cave which is the escort quest "Missing in Action"

I tried this at lvl 23 Hunter with a lvl 24 Rogue - we failed. We managed 2 Champions, as this quest gives good XP, and there are LOTS of Orcs to kill, I say make this a real group quest of between 3-5 lvl 22 - lvl 25 players.

Try around 36,9 -- Render's Camp -- almost the very top of Redridge map

but you also need to enter Render's Rock, a cave system
