Report about the suspicious prints at the Shady Rest Inn to Captain Garran Vimes in Theramore.

Description

Rows of hoofprints lead away from the still-smoking skeleton of the Shady Rest Inn. There are at least a few visible impressions, with more rows of prints almost imperceptible in the soft mud of the marsh.

The Hoofprints are right outside what was the front door. While you are here you should also grab the Black Shield over the fireplace & the guard badge on one of the 3 grey boards on the floor.

Captain Garran Vimes will send you to the inn to find clue's about the burning. There are 3 that we know of. The Badge, The Shield, and The Foot Prints. You can get all 3 sub quests from these items at the same time. However after you finish all the quests that have to do with James and what heppened to him it seems to end without closing. The only thing I have not heard of yet it what happens if you Follow the tracker! The game makes a big show of him leaving. I think you would need a mount to keep up with him. If anyone else figures anything out about these quests please post them here.. I want to find James some revenge!

If it's a dead end like that quest in tanaris after doing sunken temple? Why do they do this to us? lol, I got some xp so it's ok I guess. Still not cool tho. heh

The Captain sent me out to the Inn, found aBlack Shield on the Fireplace, took it bak to Captain, he sent me to the Forge, to Twopockets, he said it might be a Tauren Shield, sent me back to Captain, he gave 1350 Exp, thanked me, and that ended the Quest

if you found the badge, it leads you to on going quests, the commander sends you to his adjutant (just a few steps below him) to find about the person (Daelin's men), go back to the commander, and he sends you to the quest (The Deserters) lvl 38. Haven't done it yet, location of the deserters is lost point, south of the inn.

There is actually a prerequisite to this quest. The quest 'James Hyal' that starts in Stormwind ((Quest #1301) takes you to the Wetlands ((Quest #1302) then to Theramore up to Clerk Lendry.

After finishing 'James Hyal' at Clerk Lendry, head 20 feet behind him to Captain Garran Vimes and have a little chat with him. After that, the footprints outside the Shady Rest Inn (Which look like a pair of 3-toed distinct footprints right in front of the inn, 5 feet away from where the front door would be, just to the left of the sidewalk) will become usable.

The next part of the quest line is (Quest #1252) Go back to the inn and find a barely perceptible badge lying on a burned board on the floor of the inn. Congratulations, you have found the magic pixel.
