Gains
Upon completion of this quest you will gain:- 8250 experience ( 49 50 at max. level)
Start with northside DM and make sure you have the mats for the ogre suit and the broken trap. Tribute's basically killing all but the named ogres, then kill the king and leave cho'rush the named ogre magi at the end alone. Once you get all of that done, check your tribute chest for extra look, talk to all the nameds you left alive for buffs (excluding cho'rush and stomper kreeg, kreeg lets you buy alcoholic drinks tho). But talk to captain kromcrush who now resides in the center area where fengus patrols. He gives you this quest. Now you have the quest you have to kill the prince in order to get the gauntlets, but if you goto DM from the northside you'll notice he's not hostile and you can't attack him. THat means you gotta go to the westside Instance.
This instance imo is best done with a warlock, a priest, a good tank, a mage and whatever spare character you want to put in. The directions I state are from when you enter the actula instance and not northside to library. Work your way forward and you'll notice instantly a big white crystal guarded by mana beings, you have to kill all of the mobs surrounding the 5 pylons in this instance. After clearing pylon 1, head forward and you'll see a ramp down to Tendris Warpwood, you can kill him for drops or whatever. But head back up and proceed to the right, this is where the priest comes in and needs to shackle one of the spirits, the others must kill or disable them anyway possible. After killing proceed up the ramp, and make a u-turn left. Kill more mobs, more mana creatures (this is pylon 2), skeletons lie past it, you can skip them if or kill them your choice. Make your way down the path to the right and you'll meet the shen'drelar who gives you The Madness Within quest. Take it, proceed forward, kill skeletons, and more mana creatures for pylon 3. After that you will notice a NE hunter with a zombie type bear. Her ranged is tough but melee ain't so bad, the bear charges tho I think. Anyway kill both, and head down to the area you killed warpwood earlier. You'll notice a door to the right, open it with crescent key, proceed killing invisible stalker spirits(these guys respawn like every 10 minutes). Now your choice of left or right, but you'll have to either kill or skip the wind elementals, best to have the lock banish elementals and kill the kid wind eles 1st, then unload everything on the daddy elemental, his damage is a storm based aoe that hurts rather well so keep your healer aware. After that once you clear them, both left and right ends of that area have pylons, clear them and immol'thar is unleashed.
Immol'thar an odd one, big fat weird dog that makes the beast or an ancient corehound look SEXY. Really.. Immol is more power based than anything. He spawns eyes about every 5-7 seconds that cause slowing and other fun stuff, have someone like a rogue or a hunter kill them as their job in this fight, keep the warrior healed and unload on Immol'thar. You can have your priest outside the center area and prolly get little aggro from fugly doggy. Once he dies, you move on to the prince, he's right next door. Open door, head in, then down the ramp and u-turn, you'll notice the shen'drelar treasure chest(looks just like ogre tribute one). But can't interact with it, you need to kill the prince 1st. At this point you'll see him at hostile red color. He's fast, he's nasty, and he just isn't nice.
my experience: 60 sham, 60 warrior, 60 mage, 60 hunter, 58 shadow priest. We fought him, 1st time was a wipe. 2nd time went alot better but 1st time no one went offensive but warrior and we just tried to keep him alive and do almost no attacks. But the 2nd time I decided it's damage time. I unloaded on him and sorta caught my own group off guard, the priest realized it and shielded me and healed. I spammed shocks, chain lightning and everything. But the prince's aggro was mixed between me and the warrior and it went off fine, the mage, hunter and SW:P put in damage and DoTs on him and he died rather quick. We were all backed up against the wall due to his annoying knockback shot. Once he's dead, check the chest next to where he was standing originally and get the gauntlets, make your way back to the Shen'Drelar ghost, killing any enemies in your way, you complete quest, then head back down to the library and pick your treasure of 3 items, hunter helm, decent 2H mace, druid type pants.
Now you have to go back to Northside to return the gauntlets, this here is the problem if you left north to goto west, the ogres will hostile you and you have to do the tribute again, but if you worked from the tunnel in north to goto the library, then west and worked 'backwards', you can get it done w/o having to do tribute again. It seems a bit more tedious but it really isn't. Nonetheless, another tribute or not, once you talk to Krom'crush, return the gauntlets to him and you get your armor specific equivalent of the gauntlets.
The backwards route goes as follows from the doorway of library to west instance. Pylon to the right, pylon far in front of you. Head to the tunnel between the pylons and you'll have to fight warpwood past the tunnel. Kill him, and move up the ramp, directly forward another pylon. Now left of the ramp is a path that goes to the deadside of west DM, kill the spirits and head up the ramp. Make the u-turn to kill more undead and more mana creatures at 4th pylon. Head to the right path, talk to the ghost elf girl for the quest or whatever, head forward, you'll find pylon to the right making it the 5th. Once all 5 are unguarded, then immol is accessible and you can go back and kill him and prince etc.
All in 1 run right? Hehe, enjoy.
