Description

There is a dwarven armorsmith whose work I admire greatly. His name is Furen Longbeard, and his skill is unmatched. I need a new shield, and I must have one of his!

The problem is... Furen is far to the south, in the dwarven district within Stormwind. In human lands! I can't imagine why he would live there, so far from Ironforge. The humans must pay him a king's ransom to keep him there!

So, if you want to travel and don't mind making some money, then will you send Furen my request for a shield?

Furen Longbeard is at 57,16 in Stormwind. Pretty much in the center of the Dwarven District, right next to the Journeyman Blacksmith. This quest ends with him.

Fly to Ironforge, ask one of the guards where the Deeprun Tram is, and take it to Stormwind. This is the only way to get to Stormwind from Loch Moden, without going all the way around into zones you shouldn't be getting into yet.

Once you've made it to SW and turned in this quest, head just a few buildings northwest to Grimand Elmore and pick up Stormpike's Delivery.

so you deliver Stormpike's order, Furen Longbeard says he'll get to work on it, but then that's the end... so how does Stormpike ever get his shield?

If you have the quest "Stormpikes Order" in your quest log you will not be able to get the quest "Mountaineer Stormpikes Task" from Mountaineer Kadrell. Just abort "Stormpikes Order" from your qest log and then get "Mountaineer Stormpikes Task" from Kadrell. If you have already completed "Stormpikes Order" then you will not be able to get "Mountaineer Stormpikes Task" at all.

Orange quest that yielded 975 exp at lvl 11 for flying to IF, taking the tram to SW, and taking about 10 steps outside the zone portal. Yay.

the NPC's giving and ending the quest are alliance so it is only for alliance, and anyway we don't get the shield, just some silver lol :)

Furen is located in the Dwarven District of Stormwind City.

The easiest way to find him is ask any NPC guard where the blacksmithing trainer is, and Furen is right there. You will not miss him, I promise.

Take the griffions to Ironforge from Thelasmar.

Take the Tram from the Tinker section of Ironfroge, just ask a guard, they will mark it on your map. The Tram will drop you off in Stormwind.

Just walk around the building directly in front of you when you get off the Tram and there he is!
