Description

I had myself a fine job as a digger at the Uldaman excavation site in the Badlands... that is until those blasted troggs showed up. I escaped with my hide barely intact, and nothing else. In the chaos, I left my most treasured possession. It's safe from the troggs in my chest, sure, but it's right in the thick of 'em.

I'd be in your debt, both in honor and coin, if you could fetch it for me! A chest with my name on it is at the end of the North Common Hall. That's the one you need to get in.

1. Enter Uldaman's front entrance.

2. Walk in and the screen will show you enter "Excavation Center", continue forward and go under tunnel.

3. Screen will show you back in "Uldaman". Continue forward and screen will show you in "Dig One". Upon entering "Dig One", follow the path left. Do not jump off the edge to the instance portal.

4. At the first fork in the road. Go left and screen will show you again in "Uldaman". As the word "Uldaman" pops up; you are again in a fork on the road. Left = Dwarves -*- Right = Troggs. Go right towards the Troggs.

5. Continue forward and the screen shows you enter "North Common Hall".
6. Go through the tiled hallway, and when you enter the room; go towards the far wall in-front of you. Then look towards the right, and the chest is there on the floor.

*Note: Standing on the box. I have these coordinates: 53,62.

*Note: I put a picture here showing the box location, and some tips for rogues looking to solo this quest.

The treasure is not in the Uldaman instance but in the area outside the instance.

i just did this quest and spent ages wondering why i couldnt get option to open the chest. turns out that there is an identical horde quest in SOUTH common hall but we need to retrieve the chest in NORTH common hall... when you do solution to doom quest you take the right fork in path - to get to north common hall take the left fork in path and the chest is at the back of the room behind a pillar. i stealthed in killed two mobs got chest and stealthed back out again.

there're 2 halls in the area outside the instance, they're the green areas on the map and the "north common hall" is actually the one in the south

Finished as a 43 druid. Stealthed in, grabbed treasure, hearthed out, and pulled only one mob. Cowardly? Yes. Easy exp and rep? You betcha.

Those Ranged troggs are a pain in the ass when you're melee, especially when fighting 5 or 6 at once... They just spam net you! :O

I found the chest rather easily (had help getting there with lvl 60 healer :-)), but couldn't interact with it. No 'open' icon whatsoever.

EDIT: Nvm, read this all through and found out north and south are switched. Wrong quest (Horde version with same name), wrong chest.

Just to clarify... the chest is in the southmost green colored room. It has a bit of brown on the south end of it. This is outside the instance. Don't confuse this with the far left room.

Tried to solo as 46 holy priest... Ended up dying and rezzing multiple times, ultimately ending up in the room but my armor was garbage...but I did complete it. To get there, take front entrance and go along path as if going to instance, but keep straight. There will be a fork, keep left. As soon as you go left you will see to your left shadowforges and to your right the stonevault troggs. Go where the troggs are (most lvl 36-37 elite). Fight (or sneak) through into North Common Hall. Chest will be in southwest corner of first room- where there is a blob of rocks on the minimap. There are 3 troggs in hall leading to the room and 6 troggs in the room. If careful you can probably pull to fight one at a time. Good luck.

It is definitely outside of the instance. If you go in through the 'front entrance' it will be in the bottom-leftmost room on the minimap. The treasure is inside of a small chest in a room full of troggs.

Horde: It's not in the instance. It's in the far back of the South Common Hall. (If you have the Uldaman instance entrance in front of you, it's the first entrance to your left side. There's level 37 elites. They're close to eachother, so it'll be hard to kill one at a time.

Stealth mode: The chest is located away from mobs. So if your high enough level you can stealth trough and get it. (I was lvl 43, i think it won't be possible for levels much lower. It's a very narrow path)
