The messenger travels from the Jangelode Mine (44, 25), goes into Gold Coast Quarry cave (30, 45) and then goes down to Moonbrook (43, 69)

You have to kill him to get the follow up quests from Sentinel Hill

As has been noted, he spawns in Moonbrook, east of the fountain, just before the road turns north. He then walks along the Old Coast Road until he gets near the Gold Coast Quarry, then runs down the ravine into the Quarry to a spot fairly far in, but not the very back. This is one of the two times he runs, the other being when low on health. And yes, he hauls butt, even when critical.

Anyways, after that he walks back out and up the road to the Jangolode mine, and into the back of there and back out. Time spent in the Quarry is less than 2 minutes, in the Mine a bit upwards of 3. Assuming he hasn't died yet, he then ambles back south down the same route he took up, until a point somewhere between Moonbrook and the Quarry. At this point he seemed to just be travelling back and forth over a small section of road, until someone came up and killed him. I'd been tracking him for more spawns than I care to recall, so I stopped at that point. Oh, the respawn time is about 4 and a half minutes, usually.

He's fairly easy to kill, nothing special about him. But feel free to group with anyone else with the quest, everyone in the group that kills him will be able to loot the message. The respawn is short, but why waste the time?

Edit: Just occured to me, he won't attack you on sight. You can walk right next to him, and he'll ignore you. I'm pretty sure he won't even assist other Defias, but I could be wrong.

He flees really fast when he got bad condition. Applying a slowing affect -such as hamstring- should be useful.

Maybe make a Macro&nbsp /target Defias Messenger
That makes it easy to see if he is in places where there is crowded :)

Yeah, it's prty ez, he spawns at 44,69 and he follows up the trail to north, but when hes almost dead and runs, u better prepare for it to take while, he runs fast and for a short while so its hard to catch up.

ah you didn't get the VC quest because you have to collect the quest where you must escort the defias messenger to the hideout in moonbrook. Then you must report back to gryan stoutmantle, in which he will give you the quest for VC. =)

he spawns really quick. 5-10mins at the most and is easy to kill, he runs fast though so use a spell or ranged weapons toget him, he does stop running after a while though

The messenger spawns at 44,69 and is easy to kill, make sure you have something to slow him down as he makes a run for it nearing death.

If he is close enough to you while you are being attacked by other Defias, he will assist them. He jumped me when two others were attacking me at the mine.

He spawns on the road in Moonbrook just where it starts to turn north toward the quarry. After he spawns, he wanders north along the road to the Gold Coast Quarry. I've also heard that he spawns in the ravine that goes west from the road into quarry but have not verified that. I spent some time killing mobs in the quarry mine and never saw him in there.

He spawns about every 4 mintues.

I've only ever seen him spawn in Moonbrook. He can be highly contested at times, as a courtesy, try not to kill him unless he aggros you if you don't have this quest yet. It allows others to move on. Also when waiting for him inevitably the others further along here will be coming by with the Defias Traitor. Help them out by keeping the raod clear. It only helps averyone in the end with such a long but rewarding quest.

It's worth noting (especially if you solo this like I did) that when I got him down to about 1/4 health he ran. And oh boy did he run. I had to use my "Sprint" skill to keep up with him. He is FAST.
