Description

Naralex had a noble goal.

Our great leader aspired to enter the Emerald Dream and help regrow these harsh lands back into the lush forest it once was. But something went terribly wrong.

Naralex's dream turned into a nightmare and corrupt creatures began to inhabit the caverns.

While some Disciples of Naralex seek to awake our master, my concern is with ridding these caves of the evil beasts.

Brave the caverns, <name>, and eradicate the deviate spawn.

To get to the quest giver, you have to get into the wailing caverns in a special way.
When facing the entrance to the instance, (while still outside of it, it should say you are in the barrens) you should see that the entrance looks like a face. The questgivers are in the left eye. To get there, climb up the mountain, drop onto the head, drop onto the brow, drop onto the nose, face the instance, and go into the eye on the left

I don't really know if coordinates will help, but some people will keep asking for them.

Go on top of the mountain.&nbsp There's many ways up.

Once you are on the top, go towards 46,33.&nbsp This is the leg that leads to the caverns.

As you descend off of that leg (south), you'll come to a giant granite slab.&nbsp This slab is basically WC.&nbsp As soon as you step on it, the map key will no longer give you coordinates, since it thinks you are in an instance.&nbsp 45,36 is probably about the center of the slab.

As you continue to walk towards the front, you'll see there are a few drop offs.&nbsp The first drop off is easy, since there's only one ledge the whole way along.

The second drop off that you need to make is to the nose.&nbsp Look around until you find it, since if you miss, you will have to start over.

The third drop you have to make is into the west-most eye.&nbsp The face would tell you it was his right eye.&nbsp It looks like you might not find a footing to land on, but it isn't really all that hard.&nbsp Of course, if you go into the east eye, then you'll have to start over.&nbsp This drop off is about 45,38, but that won't help you much.

That's it!

I've noticed a lot of people including myself have trouble finding the npc's locations so I made a little guide to find it.

Okay, when you leave crossroads, start climbing on the mountian thats in the same direction as wailing caverns, then you keep going along it till you see the oasis. Continue on till you see the skull, get on top, then carfully go to the edge, then you look down and jump on the nose, if you are facing the skull, go in the left eye, i always go in that one because i once fell off from the right one and had to go all the way back to the mountain where you can climb up, this may not be the only way up, but it is the easiest, so i suggest you try it that way.

The Deviate Vipers are located in the Pit of Fangs. This is a section of the Wailing Caverns (instant dungeon). It is located in the far western part of the dungeon and is also patrolled by Deviate Adders. The Fanglord, Lord Cobrahn, is also located in this area. To get to it, you will have to get into the water and follow it westward through the Screaming Gully.

If you just get in and right click him to speak with him, then you can read one page of what he's saying and you get the Mark of the wild buff. He says that he gonna perform a ritual and if he gonna do that all the fanglords needs to be slain. That means that you need to kill all the fanglords in Wailing Caverns to and then get back to him and get the choice "Let the ritual begin!" and escort him to some place in there. When you've done that, you're able to get the quest.

The quest is available for both Alliance and Horde.

Good luck,

Thanks for all the previous posts in all the times I went to the oasis to fish for Deviate Fish, I never knew about the guys hanging out in their eye-socket cave.

WC is one of the most annoying instances to find your way around in but I only had trouble finding that last Dreadfang. In fact I ran out of time and will need to go back (O joy....27 out of 28 and couldn't finish).

But I have never seen more than one Deviate Scale Belt for sale (on Earthen Ring) in the last six months and this is one of the best low-level leather belts there is. So it's worth it, at least on my server and I suspect that may be the case on many servers. Of course this means I will need to farm WC for Deviate Scale and Perfect Deviate Scale but it's a lot better than Silithus.

Okay - due to good posts above - I found each of the types of mobs fairly easily.&nbsp With the first two fang lords (Cobrain & I forget 2nd one's name) - they were at the end of the 'path' where the mobs were.

One of my guildies said that WC gives him a headache - at the end when I didn't find the last lord, I understood.&nbsp :/

After running up the back side of the mountain. Which is the slowly sloping southern tip of it...

You get to the top of the head. The first jump is easy. Then look around you for a notch in the cliff area. To make it the easiest...Go to the edge of the left side of the notch. (This is from the edge, not while looking at it from the front.) Then turn directly to the right and you'll see another ledge under you. If you jump from the left side of that notch, you'll always land on the right place to get into the eyesocket. Hope that helps you guys.

Level 43 Hunter on Thunderhorn. (Alliance) I've got this patern and if you help me with Mats. I'll make the belt for you. Whisper Sylus.

Ok when you are looking at the entrance (NOT THE INSTANCE) of the "Wailing Caverns" There will be two spots near the top that look like eyes....go to the left side of the mountain(Co-ords:46,34). When at the top of "Wailing Caverns" jump to the nearest platform than do a little jump on to the hole in the wall (left eye or when looking straight on, the right eye!) and go into a small hole and theres Ebru! (PS: for Leather Workers there are two patterns for deviate bracers and cloak! =D}

Yes, I know all too well what you mean. It took me forever to locate this person. What you need to so is stand outside the cave mouth. Move slightly to the left and look up. What you will see is another smaller cave entrance that you will need to fall down into from above the cave entrance itself. To do that simple run around to the left side of the hill and start walking up. It took me a few times to find the right location to drop down from but I'm sure you will figure it out.

totally! deviate scales aren't too bad, but PERFECT deviate scales must have the worst drop rate i've encountered in this game. it took me 3+ hours and 4 trips in/out of WC to collect the 10 perfect scales for the belt. in that time, i also collected 10+ stacks of med leather, 20+stacks of light leather, and filled a 14 slot bag with reagents from all the greens i disenchanted.

i'm sick of WC all because of perfect deviate scales.

The entrance to wailing caverns is like a skull. The main instance is through the mouth. The npc with this quest would be in the nasal cavity above that. To get there, you have to go up the hill behind the skull and get on top. Then you drop down from above onto a ledge in front of the "eye sockets" and go in that way.

As for farming perfect deviate scales, it took me six runs to get enough for the belt, and about half of them came from skinning the raptors. If you don't have skinning, it will take a really long time. Most of the scales come from the mobs between the entrance and Lady Anacondra.

This is quite a project, but worth it for twinking a 19 or if you want to sell the belts to twinkers for large amounts of gold--especially on the Alliance side. If you are just going to level up, forget about the belt and spend your time leveling up. At 60 no one will remember this belt.
