The Corrupter

Slay Lord Azrethoc and Jugkar Grim'rod and return to Takata Steelblade in Desolace.
  •
Lord Azrethoc slain
  •
Jugkar Grim'rod slain

Description

Although I have no knowledge of this Lord Azrethoc, I agree with Maurin, he must be stopped; especially if he is attempting to gain influence over the Burning Blade to further his goals.

You have already shown you wish to aid the Warchief, and I would trust you to gather a party to slay the demon lord and his warlock servant.

When you are ready, head directly south, and return to me when the threat has been ended.

Jugkar is a level 40 warlock. He is not elite, though he does tend to stand near a felhound that will aggro on you if you attack him. He's not all that hard.

The other guy you have to kill is a level 40 elite. He's not too hard. My shaman killed him at 42, my warrior killed him at 38 (with help from a healing potion). He roams the hills to the east of the ruins at Mannoroc Coven. If you stand in a spot where you can see Jugkar, you are likely to see Lord Azrethoc very shortly.

For those who don't use the corrdinates, the demon lord just east of Mannoroc Coven.&nbsp To find him take the road from Ghost walker post to Shadowprey Village.&nbsp When you get to Mannoroc Coven, head south east around the hills.&nbsp When you pass the hills, head south west and come up behind Mannoroc Coven.&nbsp They both are in this general area.&nbsp The demon is a big dreadlord looking monster and it's hard to miss him.&nbsp The other guy, was also found in the general vicinity by a hill.&nbsp A number of mana eaters, doom warders, and lesser infernals roam this area as well.

I soloed this quest at M42 as an orc warrior and used only 1 health pot.&nbsp After I charged him, I did a battle shout, then I hit him with demoralizing shout, hamstring, rend, stunder armor 5 times, and a couple of heroic strikes.&nbsp I also used overpower a few times when he either blocked or dodged my attacks.&nbsp To finish him off, I hit him with a execute.

You don't have to kill one to get the other to spawn. They can both be up at the same time. Both roam a small amount so you can pull both solo.

Solo'd Lord Azrethoc, 41 Tauren Shaman. I setup Mana Totem, Stoneskin, Searing Totem and just start bombing on him (I'm DW BTW) heal yourself, but make sure you don't heal thru the MS (it's a waste) If hes giving you trouble Frostshock / Earthbind totem kite and heal up. He should be easy enough to solo @ 40+ BTW I also had that curse that added 15% magical and phyiscal damage taken. So without it you should be able to do it NPS

Found Lord Azrethoc @ 59 78

It seems that Jugkar Grim'rod can be found at 56,77 - he's only a level 40 and is an easy kill. He only dropped a little cash and some silk cloth for me.

OK, read all the comments and decided to try it solo. Both of them are at the far end of the Coven. The orc guy is small and easy like most wizards, but the demon kicks ass :) I'm 39 hunter and died the first time. The second time I had more luck he kept attacking my pet, then he got caught in a fire trap, then I started running around him and slowing him while my poisonous shots got his HP down... 4800 XP, I think.

This can be soloed as a 36 Warlock by enslaving one of the demons spawned by this quest. http://classicdb.ch/?quest=5581  Just make sure you don't get any adds, and let your demon get aggro before going all out.

Assassin/Subt spec.

Started with ambush.&nbsp Evaded and racked up combo points.&nbsp At 5 combo points, Cold Blood Evisc.&nbsp Used blind and bandage.&nbsp Drank a thistle tea and greater healing pot.&nbsp

Try to drink healing pot when not under Mortal Strike (I didn't and was shocked at how little health I gained).&nbsp Other than that, just rip him down before he does the same to you.

I had about 5% health when he dropped.

For warlocks:
To beat azrethoc you just chain fear him and have dots up all the time and he's yours
To beat Jugkar you can enslave his pet, and kill him easily that way.

Two good places to do Lord Azrethoc:

1. When he pauses his pat on the small hill by the pool southeast of Jugkar (57.3,79.6). Almost no adds here, except the Deep Strider Giant which passes by every 30m or so. Good spot for melee classes that do him in one spot, without kiting or Fearing.

2. When he pats closest to the main road, giving hunters and other kiters the ability to kite hin down the road, or giving locks and priests room to Fear him.

Easily soloed with my Hunter lvl 38, just use the pet for tank and mend him ALOT. I only used one mana potion for mend.
First find a safe place (recomend south of Jugkar Grim'rod) and watch for Agrro, use Serpent sting to weaken the boss.

Easy

I found him at 56,77, stationary. No idea if he wanders, unlike Azrethoc, who seems to be all over the map. Grim'rod is a 40 non-elite and easy as such if you can stay alive while wandering the coven.

Did everything solo up to the elite quest. 34 hunter 32 priest and myself 34 warlock went and killed the Lord. he caught us offguard first time and wiped but the priest was soulstoned. we rezzed and then we fear kited the lord. took about 8 mins of doing it but we still killed him.

found him on the hill at 58 73.

Nice work Jazmyne and Byoba of Twisting Nether.

Azrethoc is a lvl 40 elite, but he went down with relative ease. I'm a 40 shaman with heaven's light and AOTSC, I dropped a healing, stoneskin, and a searing totem, stomped him once to stun and healed, and that was it. The most he got me down to was about 20%. Watch out for the patrols though, the warlocks seem to come out of no where.

Yes, if you are a hunter, this quest is easy. I Soloed as a 39 hunter with a 39 pet and didn't use mend. I just go all out. Grim'Rod is very easy, didn't break a swet. watch out for mobs, still. Lord Azrethoc is a 40 elite, so I used my pet as a tank till his last breath. By the time Azrethoc reached me, one swing of my axe put him to the ground. Yes I know, I could use mend. But where is the fun in that?:)

Just thought id let ya know how i went about it as a lvl 38 warlock!

If you are a lock its good to take this quest when you are doing your lock weapon quest lvl 36+.

Lord Azrethoc and Jugkar Grim'rod are both at the same place at Mannoroc coven just east of the main path where you see all the portals. The lord however runs around in a large circuit so just wait and he will turn up. Cords if you have are around 55,76'ish in Desolace (Mannoroc Coven).

I left this quest until lvl 38 by accident and found this way fairly easy....

Locate the lord and clear any mobs in immediate area then cast Enslave demon, if it fails then fear quickly (as Lord Azrethoc has 'mortal strike' which takes off a serious chunk of health) and recast enslave untill successful.

Once Enslaved send him to kill Jugkar Grim'rod (who is non elite) and any other mobs in the immediate area, by which time Lord Azrethoc's health will be low, Clik stay, run a long way off and bandage up etc if needed then release him from your control. He will then run at you so spam fear and D.O.T's untill dead....easy :)
