Electropeller (12)

Description

We know you're lucky, but... just how lucky are you, <name>?

One night I was wandering the roads of Darkshore. I was looking for a good river or lake to try my new self-propelled, exploding duck decoy and I think I was a little tipsy... because I passed out and awoke hours later in Auberdine. My hair was singed and my bag of electropellers was gone! I must have dropped them in the water!

I need those electropellers! Maybe you can fish them out of some lake or stream in Darkshore...

Yup, they are there allright (53,32). It took me ~30 minutes of fishing to get 12 of 'em. As a result, my fishing skill is now a stunning 137 ) hehe.

You might consider 'saving' the Aquadynamic Fish Lens for your artesan fishing quest Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme - Nat wants you to snag 4 fish. 3 of the spots have a minimum fishing level of 295.

Fishing exp - 225 (required for the quest)
Big Iron Fishing pole - +20 exp
Aqua. Fish Lens - +50 exp
Total exp -&nbsp 295

Somewhere along the way you might want to upgrade to the Big Iron Fishing Pole - not only does it have +20 exp but has a 19 dps. I wouldn't take it to Scholo but might help to tame unruly minnows.

If you don't upgrade your pole, then you're going to need bait with a +65 or so exp add - and pay for the bait.

I just finished this quest and if you fish at (53, 32) on the Cliffspring River it works the best. I actually fished off of the log that crosses the eastern part of the Cliffspring River and fished toward the water fall. I got all twelve Electropellers in 46 casts. (So an 26.09% drop rate. Not too bad)

Since (53, 32) is right between the northern Blackwood furbolg camp and the naga cave you could do this quest when you do The Blackwood Corrupted or
Cave Mushrooms, although the quest will probably be either green or grayed out by that time.

Any river in Darkshore will do, don't try the ocean though, it won't work. You can do the northern river or the river by the grove of the ancients. It took me about twenty minutes to get them all at the bridge by the grove of the ancients, but I'm a Hunter so the extra pet food was nice.

If you're having trouble with this quest because you just did the previous one and are fishing in the same area...

Read your quest log. (I made the same mistake.)

Go to an inland lake or river to do your fishing I got my electropellers in the lake near the the Grove of Ancients. Be prepared it will take even more time than the Gaffer Jacks...

I stood directly at 40,74 and didnt move at all, after some time i fished all 12 out. It took me roughly a half an hour. I started at 55 fishing skill and ended with 105. The droprate is very low so i suggest doing this quest when you are at a peaceful state of mind. Stay positive, be happy your fishing skill is getting up alot, and that you are gathering good cooking supplies as well :) In my opinion its a good quest, because it helps level a few different professions. I am a lvl 15 hunter, so i also obtained quite a few leathers on my way there, raising my skinning skill alot. Also you can knock out two other quests down there as well , [14] Buzzbox 323 and also [20] The Absent Minded Prospector. Happy questing everyone!

when i started this quest, my fishing was lvl 88. and i had been fishing for about 5 minutes at cliffspring falls before i logged on here...the next 4 casts i made picked up electropellers! you dont have to just fish at the river by the grove of ancients, and your skill doesnt have to be 100. you just have to be patient. good luck.

edit: the quest took me less than 25 minutes to complete!

Go to:

53,32

There is a tree across the river. I stand on this tree and fished on the side of the watefall. Got an Electropeller at my first catch and got

all 12 in just 12 minutes!

My droprate there was 26,1%

Think this is the best spot to fish them.

I found this quest amusing! It was fun, and I think it was made for you fishermen (or ladies) out there! I know the drop rate of this quest isn't good at all, but it really does give you a reason to increase your fishing skill and fish alone. (That's me in the sticky screenshot on my mage fishing for these). Here is a small list of facts I have about them:

Quest is in: Darkshore.
Fishing Skill Required: 35 (may be lower but that is when I got it).

Zone Map: http://classicdb.ch/?zone=148

You can fish for Electropellers at the following locations:
  • Buzzbox 323 (51.3, 24.6)
  • Above Kerlonian Evershade (44.4, 76.4) and Onu (43.5, 76.3), near the bridge over the small river.
You do not catch electropellers alone, or I haven't. They were always in the same loot as some other fish.

Best of luck! Happy fishing!

My fishing was at 107 when I started and it took me 12 minutes and 20 fishing skill points to get all 12 electropellers. Not too bad.. the xp for this quest is good considering all you have to do is stand on the log and cast. No threats unless you go to the south side where the Blackwoods are... nice and easy.

I fished this quest at WIldbend River near Onu. The quest took about 25 minutes to complete with a 300 (+97) fishing skill: Big Iron Fishing Pole (+20), +2 gloves (+2), Bright Baubles (+75) as lures. I got all 12 in 58 casts from the log facing Cliffspring Falls at 53,32.

Upped my fishing from 113 to 136 and even caught a Bloated Mudsnapper (he had a Moss Agate inside him) for the efforts.

All in all, it took me only 19 minutes to catch all 12 Electropellers. (Including the amount of time it took to answer the lvl 16 player who interrupted me in the middle to ask where Cliffspring Falls is. And then physically lead him up there, when he didn't understand my answer.)

If you feel that you're just not getting any more electropellers, try moving to a new location, still inland, and fish there. I fished off the little island in the inland pond by the Grove of Ancients, and after 8 electropellers, I just stopped bringing anymore up. I tried and fished up stuff nearly 50 more times, but no more electropellers. So, I ran off to the Cliffspring River and did some fishing there, found two more before I had to go to bed. I'll be finishing this up tonight.

Save yourself lots of time and go kill undead in Raven Hill Cemetary - Duskwood. They'll drop nightcrawlers far more often than you'll fish up a electropeller, and they work the same as the quest reward. What a waste of time. And yes, it seems that you need to change spots every few casts, just like real fishing, or your drop rate for anything will decrease. At least that's my experience.

I fished in Wildbend river for a while. good thing i'm patient. skill was 106 and it went up to 139. 81 fish later, i got all the electropellers. it seemed like the more I fished in one spot the lower the rate of getting the electropellers was. i recommend using a lure to speed things up.

The average that I've seen is 1 Electropeller every 6 catches, that taking an average of 25sec per catch makes HALF AN HOUR in fishing time, plus time to go to the zones where to fish them and come back, 35-40 minutes.

My conclusion, even that I like fishing, this is a dreadfull quest drop, an one of the most pathetic quests to do.

I started off at level 55 fishing, and used a Bauble. Took me about 20, maybe 30 minutes to catch them all and at the end my skill was 110. ^^

I fished in Cliffspring River. If you want to skill up fishing, I'd recommended grabbing this quest.
