Crashing the Wickerman Festival (PvP)

Locate the Forsaken's Wickerman Festival in Tirisfal Glade. Return to Sergeant Hartman in Southshore once you've done so.
  •
Scout out the Forsaken's Wickerman Festival.

Description

I need brave individuals to head up to Tirisfal Glade and check out the Wickerman Festival. I'm not going to lie - heading up there will be dangerous. The guards at the festival will be exceptionally vicious. Still, we need to know how big the festival is this year, and how much trouble the Forsaken are going to cause us during Hallow's End.

If you're up for it, head to Tirisfal and scout out the festival. Return to me with the information, and I'll make sure you're well compensated.

It's just to the west of the Undercity, along the road. There's a giant statue thing made of hay. Run up to the statue, then run away.

Ok, come up on the west side of the undercity from lordamere lake.&nbsp You'll see the burning wickerman long before you get anywhere near aggro radius.&nbsp Here's the tough part, it requires split second timing b/c as far as I've seen, the wicker guardians stun with every hit.&nbsp So anywho, you run as close to the undercity as the terrain will let you.&nbsp You'll see a fallen log up ahead.&nbsp You want to be on the right side of the fallen log.&nbsp Run up on the right side of the log, and you'll aggro the first guard.&nbsp Don't stop!&nbsp Right before you get to the end of the log, leap over the end and head thru the wickerman's legs.&nbsp Immediately bang a left, and you should be headed back down the road.&nbsp You'll have aggroed all the guards, but they won't be able to catch you if you do it right.

Easiest route, especially if you're too low for the Plaguelands, is to go north to Alterac Mountains (from Southshore), then west to Dalaran, and further west into the huge lake/ small sea with islands dotting it.

The mobs in Dalaran are level 31 or so, and the mobs in this lake are level 18 or thereabouts, which should give you no trouble. They're murlocs and treants staying on the islands, mostly; keeping to the water should not bring any mobs to bother you.

Once in the lake, head north and you will reach Undercity very quickly. Of course, don't go directly up/ into the city. Just follow the path towards Undercity, and you will see a gigantic burning scarecrow statue thing (56, 69) with 2 giant elite abominations on either side of it.

Here are maps that I've dotted to show the path to take:
Hillsbrad Foothills
Alterac/ Dalaran
Tirisfal --> The last dot on top of Undercity in this map shows the location of the statue.

You will not be able to stealth successfully past them if you are 40 or lower. Your best bet is to zip up to the statue and die on top of it, so that you will at least have completed the quest.

My level 41 druid tried to stealth up to it though, by creeping along the wall, and was nearly at the statue when one of the abominations noticed. I basically ran right on top of the statue and managed to get the quest completed as I died.

This quest gave my druid (at 41) 12650 exp.

When you go there watch out as there are 3 elite abomination guards that can and will one shot a lower level character. You also will have horde hanging out around the area. Use and talents you have to rush through the area as fast as possible. Those guards also make trips to the Scarlet Monastery a pain.

Spuy767 has a good idea - come in from the lake and alongside the wall. My 32 Mage got the Quest Completed text before I even got very close to the Wicker Man. At that point I managed to aggro an abomination, who sent me to the Tombstone Tavern with one hit. But 6600XP, 90S and some Halloween candy (turns you into a ghost for 15 minutes) made it worthwhile. My repair bill was only about 5S.

If you skirt around the Wickerman area, and go around the corner of the Lordaeron ruins, you can easily climb up onto the plateau the ruins are built on. You can then edge back to a point immediately overlooking the wickerman area, from where you can jump down directly to complete the quest - preferably jump down when someone else has agg'd the abominations that guard it :-)

(it's still worth stripping your gear off if you expect to get killed - saves on repair costs)

I think this one is easy for pretty much anyone. Run as close to the burning Wickerman as possible. Let them kill you and stand right up against it when you rez. You will complete the quest, die and rez again, then head back to Southshore to turn it in. The alliance sleeps safer this night.

So I did the quest on 11/2... but trucked it back to Southshore and the dude (Sgt. Hartman?) wasn't there. So now what? Is he somewhere else on the map? Will he reappear during the next seasonal event (like the Christmas stuff)? Or am i just screwed?

HA! Did it without dying as a 32 rogue.

Come from the lake side S of Undercity. 55.69 is right location. Stealth, slowly sneak up against dirt wall beside Undercity. Watch the elite guard as you move slowly toward the wicker statue. The second you see the elite guarding come at you, go out of stealth and sprint. Run along wall just past the fallen tree, hook left, and run through wicker statue, then hook left and run back the way you came. I didn't get touched at all.

The guards hit hard. Just ran pass that area (you'll see a giant hay statue on fire) and you'll get the quest completed. Though, I aggro'ed one of the guards, dismounted, feigh, and mounted back to SS.

It was funny because I had been playing with my rogue on another server around the Undercity ... and then logging in with the NE druid I've noticed the quest and headed right away.

If you don't have map coordinates & never been to Scarlet Monastery, from southsore you have to go to Alterac Mountains past Lordamere Lake & Undercity and you'll find it on the left road next to Undercity (while looking on the map).

Those two 60 elites have uhm blocked the way to SM, as we tried reaching it by several methods but failed (they seem to aggro from a considerable distance)

heres what i did with my 31 rouge. there are two ways:
1.come up via the lake and swing around towards the entrance to undercity and take the patch of groud that surround the city and walk all the way around to wicker man. jump right on to the wicker man keeprunning back towards the lake.

or

2. same exact thing execpt die by the wickeman and as a ghost go to where i said above and revive up there the mobs can t see you and do that.

What is to be done? Do you just run around past the guards a bit or do you have to kill one or touch something for this quest to complete?
