How do you get Corporal Keeshan to follow you?

This can be done at the same time as the "Blackrock Bounty" quest. By the time we found Keeshan we had already filled the quota of Blackrock Champions. ^_^ Three of us did this and we all got credit, so I'm not sure how far away you have to stray from Keeshan to fail the quest like others here described ... or maybe Blizz fixed this. :P

Wow, this NPC is a perfect crap-PUG simulator. He aggroes 4 mobs, then runs to the ranged mob firing at him, pulling another 5, causing a wipe. Seriously, this is yet another unenjoyable escort quest...

The NPC himself is waiting at 28,12. Make your way to the big room at the back of the cave, then look for a little path on the lower level of its north wall. If you're soloing this, pray that Kazon (https://classicdb.ch/?npc=584), a rare spawn, isn't waiting at a camp outside to make a tough 4-pull an instadeath 5-pull.

Relatively easy to march him to the entrance of the cave if you sit back and let him tank, but it gets very nasty in the open air because there are spawns at the cave entrance and in front of both of the tents, all of which will probably be up when you get him out if you killed them on the way in. It's possible to pull the groups to him instead of waiting for him to blunder into them, cutting the fight to only 3 or 4 mobs at once. Bring friends.

Absolutely a Party quest...when you go thru the cave it should be 1 mob per fight...outside is different story just as you came in...he will take a break at the exit of cave...be prepared to fight the groups of 2-3 mobs all over again...GL..Bring help..

I found this fairly easy to solo, atleast with a warlock. He's elite, and an excellent tank. He'll even taunt! As long as you attack the same target he is during fights with multiple enemies, you're almost guaranteed to make it. As already stated, pull mobs to him, rather than letting him charge them.

i did this with a mate, extremely easy - that was until we were a few metres from the end and a horde player with PvP enabled walked past. the corporal decided to attack him (a level ?? to my lvl 35 friend) and was slaughtered. so now we have to do it all over again. GARGH!!!

I believe it's quests like these that led Blizzard to turn BC escorts into Group quests by default. As others mentioned above me, the Corporal will happily attempt to take on far more mobs than he can handle. It's a taste of what you'll later go through during (Quest #10284). On the plus side, this escort has no spawned ambushes, so you'll just be dealing with mobs that are already there. Thus, on a crowded day, when the mobs are being mowed down as fast as they can spawn, this quest is effortless. On the other hand, if you're the only one there it's a real grinder.

in addition, the respawn rate of the blackrock orcs is insane, so it makes impossible to clean the outter camps and then begin the escort quest.

Very easy q. As somebody mentione above the hardest part is when you leave the cave. But you can easily use fact that the Keeshan will help you immedietely you become hit by mobs. So my strategy was to run in front of Keeshan and pull mobs in advance and when the mob is down Keeshan returns back and gets full of HP.

I was doing that q 2x once in group when we were in serious troubles outside the cave and then alone with 24 warlock and without any serious problem. I have cleaned whole area in front of cave entrance BEFORE Keeshan even started resting. Just pull one group of mob and let Keeshan attack them then let him finish the mobs and run for another group. (but let Keeshan reset full hp).

Piece of cake

I solo'd this quest yesterday as a level 27 rogue.

Keeshan is more than capable of taking care of himself, and if you follow behind him and help him fight the monsters he's attacking then it shouldn't be too hard.

To be honest I was more concerned with me surviving than him... I tried that technique other people mentioned of dragging mobs back to him but it didn't work out so well. I just let him run into them as he would and things went fine for me.

He can be found in the back of the cave behind Render's Camp. Go left on entering the cave, and you'll find him to the west of the pond in the cave.

totally not worth the effort if you've been to enough stockades and vc. Mobs spawns too fast if your taking them down alone (even if you are like, 27). do this only if you have a few players nearby grinding/questing, or go 30 and come back to pwn them

Corporal Keeshan is a beast. He [25 Elite] fights his way out with you. Unfortunately, his AI is not great, so expect him to carelessly rush into large groups of orcs. He will even attack enemies that other players have engaged.

You could always cheat and have another party help thin out the path for you. Any way you manage it, it's worth it since this quest give great experience.

It always helps to have at least 2 other party members who are around level 22-25 because Keeshan has to be escorted a LONG way, his path can be seen here:

You can find Corporal Keeshan in the Render Cave (aka Render's Rock) at the North of Redridge, at the rear of Render's Camp. Follow the road northwest of Lakeshire to the Render Valley and follow the map.

This may be an incredibly stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Am I supposed to be able to pick up the quest from the sign or do I pick it up once I find him? I can't seem to get the quest from the sign like you do with the Wanted quests. Help?

To answer the question on where you pick up the quest. There is a poster to the left of the Inn door in Lakeshire that describes his MIA status. However you pick up the quest directly from Keeshan. Anyone in the group can start the quest and all others in the group get the quest when selecting the Yes to share/begin the quest. EVERYONE needs to be in range of Keeshan to get the option to begin the quest. I had a few group members on separate occasions screwing around outside his alcove and did not get the option box. He walks from his little alcove up to the entrance to the cave and sits down to take a what seems like a 1 min break. He gets up and walks through the camp of orcs. He begins to run once he reaches the paved part of the road down to Lakeshire.

On one occasion there was a group member who did not stay in range and he said he failed the quest. This was a time ago and I have no idea if the distance has been altered to keep all questers within range credit. When doing this quest I ALWAYS asked if anyone has done this quest before and patiently explain what is going to happen. Doing this beforehand minimizes any heartbreak and wasted effort.

While escorting him back, do NOT get too far away from him, even to kill monsters and clear a path!

Moving a certain distance away from Keeshan will trigger an immediate quest failure even if he is still alive.

When he gets back to town, only party members who have stayed near him the whole time will get the quest reward :(

have to agree with chimera.
as a 24 druid i though i might try this, i would heal him when needed and else just kill mobs in cat form.

we came to the entrace, then he aggroed 2 mobs and a imp, the imp then ran past two groups, and he followed. and somehow it ended up with 8mobs in the end, and i failed the quest.
i would say you need atleast two players for this quest.

Easily soloed as a level 23 Feral Druid. Put on my stam gear for bear form, and went into cat. Weird, I know, but it worked. The reason I wore my stam gear is because while he took the melee mobs, I would destroy the imps, then pop into bear to take the casters. When we got outside, I pulled one of the camps and ran back till I was OOC, then turned back and healed him for the win. :)

If theres a doc in the house then this NPC can be healed with bandages, pull ppl from distance he will run at them and for some reason run back to his original place and continue with his snail pace, heal him as he walks by, solod 24Hunter

I found this quest to be very easy for a level 25 Retribution Paladin. I didn't need to heal him ever, and as Piramid said above me, just run slightly ahead of him and pull the proper number of mobs back to him. He has mocking blow up on his target at just about all times, so pulling one enemy is almost a joke.

Things to note: He is buffable and healable. If you have buffs or heals, this quest shouldn't be hard at all. He does sometimes run towards ranged mobs like imps, but I would always focus them first before pulling groups back to the Corporal. They're imps, not bosses, so killing them isn't exactly a chore either. Exorcism helped a lot too.

Gives you 2550xp at level 25, as well as 350 reputation with Stormwind. (NOT the 87 rainbow reputation as listed in the summary above.)
