Description

We believe there is one being that may be able to help us understand what is happening to the forests of Teldrassil. Unfortunately, getting the creature to cooperate has proven disastrous.

He hides on a branch at the outskirts of the Oracle Glade. All who have so far approached the satyr, whether through force or diplomacy, have met with doom. Perhaps stealth is the answer, <name>.

Find what Sethir the Ancient carries in his packs and report back to me.

Sethir is a level 12 Satyr that can be located at the coordinates 37, 22. Conversely, you can just go north of the Oracle Glade and follow the wall of wood to the west. He is out on a branch. You need to pick his pocket using stealth in order to grab his journal. If he sees you, he usually spawns 1-5 minions.

The best way to pick his pocket is to take a wide path around him while approaching from behind. Pickpocket him at maximum pickpocket range. If the minions spawn, hit sprint and run out of the area.

The best way to find it is go to the "O" of Oracle on the map and then go north, you will then see a little cut in the mini map and then go on that tree u see, then he will be to your right, then walk up to him or as close and possible till he speaks then wait like 2 minutes then he will be on the main log and then sneak up behind him and just pick pocket.. did it in my first try and then tried to kill him, i killed him at level 10 but his minions got me befor i could even click the damn body to CHECK for loot leta lone actually loot him

Sathir can be found at 37,23. once u take the journal about 10 underlings come to do battle.

In answer to poster #1 - the Satyr is located physically on a tree branch that hangs effectively "off" the map. Past the Oracle Glade, you will find the zone barrier - along this barrier slightly towards the East (directly North of the Glade now) you will find the branch. The Satyr was standing straight out (although when I finally completed it he was on the branch to the right). He is facing you and will say "I know you are there rogue" when you approach. I am not sure - but this doesn't mean he actually sees you.

I tried to backstab him :(

The second time I got all pissed off, stealthed up to him, backstab and ended his life really quickly - just out of spite. He died before he could call his friends.

The third time I realized that when the NPC says "maybe stealth is the way" - she MEANS it. Hit your stealth, walk up behind him or on the side, get behind him in any case, pickpocket and sneak out. It was dumb easy once I actually tried to steal his journal.

Now, if you see Sethir the Ancient anywhere on the tree beyond that V, then wait until he disappears. Stay stealthed, and station yourself right here, as far back as you can get:

Finding the place - There should be a break in the wall due NNW of The Oracle Glade.&nbsp (The wall being the border of Teldrassil).&nbsp Through that break should be a main branch (1).&nbsp Off that branch, should be another branch (2), don't go on that one and don't fall off, it's a five mile drop to the bottom.

Getting the journal - Wait for the demon to get on (2) and get as far as you can to the back of (1).&nbsp Once there, wait for him to come back.&nbsp Pickpocket him for the journal.

Getting the heck out of there - Now, you can either be completely reckless or you can be stealthy.

Recklessness - RLH.&nbsp RUN LIKE HELL.&nbsp Use Sprint to get the hell out of there.&nbsp He'll summon four demons that are like... evil.&nbsp But just keep running and running.

Stealthy - Wait for him to go back on the other branch and walk out in stealth mode.

I'm usually a warrior so I chose recklessness but I could have easily died with one mistake.&nbsp Stealth probably woulda been easier.

Stealth to the spot and wait for him to appear in the "v" in the hill. Wait till he leaves and then stealth through the "v" and onto the branch. Steal along till the branch stops u, turn and look at "V" after a few minutes the saytr appears on the branch with his back to you (make sure your "pickpocket" is in a sidebar) creep up within range, as long as you don't hang about you can pickpocket the journal. Back back to the place you waited and still in stealth use your homestone to recall to your inn.

bingo! Easy as falling off a log, Took an hour and 5 deaths to suss that tactic *grins*

North of the 'O' in 'Oracle Glade' on the map, there's a v-shaped hole in the wall surrounding Teldrassil. A branch leads outside the map, he is on that branch.

I was lvl 12, snuck up behind him but when I pickpocketed he attacked.&nbsp I killed him before the minions finished me off but I thought "Well, I'll at least get the journal from the corpse". NOPE. You MUST pickpocket him from behind - killing him reaps nothing but several goat-boy minions and a one-way trip to the graveyard.

Argh!
I suppose its my own fault. I should have come here first and looked up the quest.

I found him out on the branch, no minions in sight, he was facing away from me out into the sky..
..so I backstabed him.
Killed him quick, then when I turned around, there were like 9 mobs behind me, including him again. I tried sneaking past, but one of them saw thru it and they all swarmed me. I tried to use sprint to get away, but no dice.
Next time I'm going to try picking his pocket, and if he doesnt see me and spawn his minions I will sneak out with the book (if its successful). If he does see me or I have to kill him, I will keep doing it over again waiting for his respawns till I get it, then warp out.

I found him right at 37, 22, like others have said. However, I don't think it's necessary to worry about him catching you while you pickpocket him. Stealth up to him and sap him, and then pickpocket him. It's quick, you avoid having to worry about fighting him and his adds, and you can get out of there long before the Sap wears off.

Just helped another rogue do this quest and they kept having issues with targeting. Just want some of you new people to realise that you may end up auto-attacking if you use the mouse to target instead of the tab key.

OK, i just finished this quest and the ONLY hard part was to find him. the descriptions are all very different. so to make it easy.&nbsp When you bring up your map and it says oracle glades...go directly above the O and you'll find him.

Please guys, can someone explain in detail where this guy is? I've been all over Oracle Glade with no luck. I don't understand what the branch looks like that is "off the map" From what I understand the Oracle Glade tree is just a small tree in the center of the Oracle glade map. This branch is on the outskirts of Oracle Glade? The map of oracle glade is in a circular shape with an open bottom which leads to Dolanaar etc, what part of that circle is this branch located?

He said "I know you are there, rogue, Leave my home or join the others at the bottom of the world tree," both before and after I pick-pocketed him. I didn't use sap or anything, I thought it was pretty easy.

I guess he can see stealth but he won't attack unless you are there for a while or get really, really close. I was at max-pick-pocket range.

ok stand on the left side of the moonwell facing north. then head north until you reach the end of the map. Look of an opening at the edge of the map. You will see a tree branch that you can walk on. Then you have found where he is at.

I found that the easiest way to get it was to be behind him on the branch waiting for him to spawn. He does see through stealth pretty well, so unless you are already there before he is, it will be difficult. I ended up having to kill him 3 times before I could find the right place to wait at without being seen.

You don't have to practice pickpocketing in order to do this. At level 10 I was able to stealth up to him and pick his pocket without any problems. He did have his back to me when I went up to him, so that could be part of the trick. There might also be some sort of level restriction, like maybe he can see through stealth when you are less than level 10.

He said "I know your there rogue..." and I still managed to pickpocket him after that. Then he called his minions. You have a bit of time if he says that. He attacks you when he says DIE!.

When the branch disappears, if you change the viewing angle, it sometimes reappears (it depends on whether the 'camera' is in the branch or not). This may not help, bacause often when the branch is visible, your veiwing angle is useless.

I did this at lvl 10, it was hard, but only because I hadn't used pickpocket before.

Loved watching my hubby do this quest ...... while I kept a rogue alive who failed the quest and got beat up on, my hubby slowly stealthed on to the branch and sat watching 5 other rogues standing around wondering who was to be next in line to try the quest. Sethir is killed and after a min he respawns on the branch. Hubby gets up, moves 2 steps, pickpockets, stealths off past me and the 5 argueing rogues. Priceless :o)

What wasn't so cool were the 3-4 guys that spawned on top of me as I sat laughing at this LOL ..... that will teach me .. Teehee :o)

Sethir is hard to find. I went to the glade a couple of times and didn't find him. It's a while since I did it fowever... a determined effort revealed that along the edge of the map in that area there is a branch you can sort of walk on, and off the map so to speak. You don't disappear or go anywhere special, you just have a pile of air beneath the branch (no mountains)

Sethir was here walking around. I was (as usual) stealthed. I watched him for a while, thought about where best to attack him. He went way out on an ever thinner branch and disappeared. When I went out there also he was gone. When I turned around he was back at the start of the branch facing back in towards the forest. By now I had realised it was a rogue quest and 'viloence had failed before', or so the quest description stated. I decided to pick pocket him, and did. 1st shot, and got his book. Then I think I 'sprinted' past him to safety.

He is out there, you steal from him, don't attack him.

I don't know if there's something else I need to be doing but I've tried this quest a dozen times and everytime I try to get close to pickpocket him, he either attacks me or I attack him. Do you have to get right on him to enable pickpocketing? This quest is really grating on my nerves. Somebody help a brother out...please?

Did this at lvl 10 on my rogue with very little previous experience at stealthing. He was about halfway down the branch. Just stealthed up to him (his back was turned to me), targeted him, picked his pocket, and walked away, still stealthed. Super easy quest. Don't see how people had trouble with this one.
