Description

<name>, I could use your aid if you're up for it. I am an alchemist of some note, and I seek your aid in acquiring some reagents found out in the Badlands.

I need the following items to replenish my stocks: five buzzard gizzards, ten crag coyote fangs, and five rock elemental shards. Obviously, you can get them off of the beasties themselves; if you're not the fighting type, then find friends who are.

Acquire these items for me, you'll get some coin out of the deal. Watcha wanna do?

This quest is rather difficult because the drop rate on every item you need to collect is VERY low, but stick with it!

For those with coordinates:
Rock Elementals can be found at 13,36, near Kargath up some hills by the Graveyard.

The Buzzards can be found at 15,60 around a giant carcass.

And as for the Coyotes...jthey're everywhere across the Badlands, sorry I can't get you any exact spring of surplus coordinates, but they're scattered everywhere. You'll find some if you make a 360 degree turn though, i bet :).

Extra Fact: Here's another fun fact I thought you should know: The Coyotes drop the tails for the Darkmoon Faire as well, if you need them.

The coordinates are:
Buzzard:around (13,61)
Coyotes:Around (8,60)

The quest was easy as a 42 Hunter.&nbsp If you're trying to find the Rock Elemental shards then 14,36 will put you right in the middle of a ton of the Rock Elementals... and as an added bonus (if you're a miner) there are tons of Mithril, Iron and Gold in that same area.

yeah i did this the jawbone and the quest to brings bits of earth elementals back to the gnome all at once. at 38 i had no trouble with these imposable adds mentioned above. was damn good xp also.

oh and if adds are really a problem just clear in from an nice open area pulling the mobs to where you know its safe. if you know you cant handle them then fight where you can its not that hard.

You have to really suck to not be able to kill the buzzards at level 39. I mean, sure there are jaguars stealthing around, but they're level 36 to 38. Coyotes? Yeah, levels 37 to 39 too. You could do this quest at level 41 and still get full xp for it so what's the problem?

The stones are relatively easy to get (just do the quest that makes you farm for stones off of the elementals,) but the fangs and the gizzards are a pain. The fangs are a pain because they have such a low drop rate (about 10% iirc,) and the gizzards are a pain because for every 10 wolves there's only one or two buzzard.

Still, soloed this easily as a level 36 rogue. Also this is a horde AND alliance quest, don't know why it says horde-only...

[edit] Oh, I see... the reason is you can also get this exact quest from someone in Loch Modan. So this one is the one that hordies get, but the one in LM is exactly the same.

Head over to Apocryphan's Rest (16,61 for those with /tloc) and you'll find 8 Giant Buzzards with a not-too-horrible respawn rate. Made the grind a little easier.

This quest is easy as lvl 41 hunter.

Location 12, 34 for the elementals, respawn rate is good.

For buzzards and coyotes just walk around east of the mountain where Kargath is. Buzzard drop was about 1 in 3, coyote drop same, pick up the coyote jawbone quest at the same time to make things faster (found in tower outside kargath inn).

3000 exp at level 41 still!

Gathered the Shards while doing the Rock Elemental quest from the gnome
so that was easy.
Gathered the Fangs while doing the 30 Jawbones.
The Gizzards were the ones that gave me the most problem took me about 3 clears of apocryphan's rest to get all 5.

Worst drop rate is by far from the Gizzard, it's around 1 in 5. As of 2.3 this quest now give 4150xp. Do Coyote Thieves quest while your at it.

buzzards 15.61 is a good spot and drop rate was about 70-80% for me did this with Barbecued Buazard Wings

coyotes all around 27.60 drop rate about 50% with sometimes more than one fang dropping from them. did with Coyote Thieves

rock elementals around 20.45 drop rate around 40% did with Study of the Elements: Rock

easy quest to do just alot of walking.

The drop rate for the Shards are worse then the Gizzards or Fangs. So prepare to grind a bit on them, but on the bright side, if you are a Mining prof, there are several Mith veins around that area.

The Fangs also drop either in pairs of two or singles, so that part can go quickly.

When going for the Gizzards, be careful if you go to the carcass and not pull too many, they are 39-40 and it can hurt if you get two-three of them on you.
