Find the Gems and Power Source

Recover all three gems and a power source for the necklace from Uldaman, and then bring them to Jarkal Mossmeld in Kargath. Jarkal believes a power source might be found on the strongest construct present in Uldaman.

From the journal, you know...
* The ruby has been stashed in a barricaded Shadowforge area.
* The topaz has been hidden in an urn in one of the Trogg areas, near some Alliance dwarves.
* The sapphire has been claimed by Grimlok, the trogg leader.
Shattered Necklace Ruby
Shattered Necklace Sapphire
Shattered Necklace Topaz
Shattered Necklace Power Source
Provided Item:
Bloodstained Journal

Description

Here is the journal, translated for you to read on your own. The crux of it says dwarves hid the ruby, the troggs hid the topaz, and a trogg named Grimlok has the sapphire.

Look - you're going to need a power source to make the necklace work again. Dran Droffers doesn't know this. To find one, here's what I'd do: go as deep as you can in Uldaman and kill whatever construct there is the strongest. No doubt whatever that is would have it.

When you have everything collected, come back here!

Pretty much self-explanatory
- Shattered Necklace Ruby is in the Shadowforge Stash (I think that's what it's called) in the room with Galgann Firehammer. When you loot the chest, two mobs will spawn so be careful
- Sapphire on Grim'lok, don't forget to loot him as many people missed this one, the most obvious of them all
- The Topaz is in a Conspicuous Urn in the room with the three lost vikings, sort of right in front and on the left a bit as you enter it (where you get the Gni'kiv Medallion)
- Power Source from Archaedas :)

The gems are found in Uldaman.
First one is in a vase at the first boss (Baelog).
Second one is in a chest at the boss Galgan Firehammer (or something).
Third one is dropped by Grimlok the trogg.
The power source is dropped by Archaedas (or something), the last boss.
Good luck ^^

BEWARE!

When you loot the ruby in the baricaded area, it generates a spawn of about 4-5 (I think) non-elite mid-30s Ambushers.&nbsp They can be AE'd effectively, but if your group isn't ready for it after the boss fight, you're likely to wipe.

This guy is not that tough... you just have to concentrate and make sure you know whats going on, I did this about 30min ago, with lvl 46 warrior, 50 priest, 45 mage and me, a 45 druid... Mage is a brilliant choice for this one, bacause AoE makes this so much easier to deal with mobs.

Basically this is how it goes down... you awaken the boss, get a warrior to tank, and someone to heal him, then the boss will awaken 1 dude at a time, get the mage to kill these guys and someone to protect the mage... Eventually his heal will get low and hes going to summon the two guards... Dont kill them, just all attack the boss, and when he dies so will they. Done, and its easy! :)

I've done uldaman numerous times.

I've done with several chars and several other times with lvl 43-49s in many various groups.

Lots of different strategies, most important part is:

1. Have 1/5 heal, make sure to keep agro off healer, peel adds quickly from healer if he gets the agro
2. Have 3/5 focus on Arcahedas (sunder armor and dps)
3. Have 1/5 focus on all the minions or adds (hunter or rogue do this well)
4. When the 4 elites come out, have a tank pull agro quickly and everyone just focus on archaedas.

Once archaedas dies, everything else dies.

healing/mana pots are quick useful in this battle.

im a 43 hunter we had a 49 priest, a 42 warr, and i forget what lvl druid but no higher then 45 for sure, and we killed the last boss, it was a long battle and the druid and priest died at the very end lol but we killed him, druid took on the summoned adds, i had my pet and the tank on the boss and i would switch back and forth between adds and boss, when he summoned the inner 6ppl tank kept boss aggro while me, my pet and the druid took the 6 out, then we went back to what we had b4, till he summoned the elite adds, then we just dropped him, but like i sed not b4 the priest and druid died... not the best plan but hey, it worked

last rock i needed..
dont listen to cries of failure from mid 40 characters.. our group (40, 41, 42, 43, 43) had no problem with the right approach.. back entrance to Archeaus, pull him up to first altar room to avoid room of mobs and drain him slowly but surely..

Dig Two, where you find the Topaz for the Shattered Necklace, is inside the Instance!&nbsp You must enter the main Instance entrance and fight through the Troggs to Dig Two.&nbsp You do not need to fight the Dwarves to get the Topaz although they drop nice loot.&nbsp The Dwarves are standing on a cliff, and at the bottom of the cliff face is the urn with the Topaz in it.

For alliance, you find the broken necklace on one of the pre-instance dwarves.

You then have to take that necklace to the mystic ward in IF.

He then sends you to look for the dead pally that u find before map room.

Next find the gems as quest suggests.

contact dude in IF with bowl thingermajigger.

Shattered Necklace Ruby:
It's in a coffin like stash in Shadowforge area. Dig Two if I remember correctly.

Shattered Necklace Sapphire:
Dropped by Grimlok, you'll meet him if you are not completely lost in the instance.

Location of Topaz:
Shattered Necklace Topaz should be the hardest to find of all the 4 items you need. It's located near the huge door, behind the 3 dwarves who drop the staff for the 1st boss (that TALL lvl? lady). Just jump off where the dwarves are towards the door and you'll see it.

Shattered Necklace Power Stone:
Dropped by the last boss in the instance.

Map of Uldaman

This map is accurate and very helpful hehe! I recommend a good crew to do this dungeon at least 4 players lvl 40++ its easy to get the gems.. but it gets way harder after that.. lvl 44-45 elites and they come in pack...

Alliance quest starts with a drop inside Uldaman, a monster will drop the Shattered Necklace, then u have to go back to Ironforge, back to Uldaman for remains of a paladin, then quest will go on and on...

To kill Archaedas, have a healer off to the side and a main tank on him. Have a secondary tank (we used a warlock's Voidwalker) and someone else aggro all the secondary dudes the boss wakes up. At 2/3 health, he wakes up a few more guys, so the priest should fade. The main boss doesn't do too much damage, so the priest can concentrate on healing the secondary tank, and in his/her spare time, use wand on teh Boss. At 1/3 health left, he wakes up some more dudes, and everyone should focus their power on taking down the main boss. once he dies, all the extra guys die. He drops the power source.

Besides the gems for the quest, most of the drops in this quest suck. Especially for the number of bosses you have to go through.
