DO NOT open the chest more than once that summons the parrot...because the parrot will come AGAIN and you only have ONE cracker...so...basically, you're toast if you do. Also, you CAN STILL open the lockboxes when you are a rat.

Also, when you are lvling your lockpicking skill with the chests in there...a faster way is to stand so that theres a chest in front of you, one to the left of you and one to the right of you...then you never have to move around the room to open the boxes...you can just stay in that one spot and open those 3 in front of you over and over. They reappear fast. (also, by doing this, when you get stuck in an ice trap, it wont matter).

Also, your lockpicking skill will only go as high as your characters level x5. Soo, if I was lvl 17, that would be 17x5=85, so I could only get a max lockpicking skill of 85 while I'm at level 17 on my rogue. So therefore, you can only increase your lockpicking as your character level increases as well. Good luck.

Completed it at level 16, the earliest level you can get the quest.

On the top level

Boxes were orange till 30
Yellow till 60
Green till 100+

Two Debuffs can be recieved:
Rat Nova (turns you into a rat for 10 seconds dealing a very low ammount of damage)
Frost Hold (Frost Nova that freezes you in place for 10 seconds dealing a very low ammount of damage)

On the bottom level i stayed till i had 80/80 lockpicking and the main chest was green.

Parrot sees through stealth and targets you instantly, so no backstab possible.

I died, however hurried back and found the parrot still waiting for me in non-elite form. i stealthed up to it and killed it in a nailbiter.

before u go to the ship at (6554) u go to the robot at the side of the quest giver where u get thives tools and the E.C.A.C the go to the boat who u get onto by the front when in there go and get ur skill up to 90 its worth the time then open the box and a parrot attacks u but then use ur E.C.A.C at him

Ok just a few points that are based on me just completing this quest.

&nbsp 1. Lockpicking does NOT rpt NOT have to be at 80.&nbsp I picked the lock at 30 but I couldn't at 20.&nbsp I am guessing the post that said 25 is spot on.&nbsp But give it to 30 just to be safe LOL!

&nbsp 2.&nbsp You do NOT have to be in the same room as the parrot in order to use the cracker.&nbsp When you open the box the parrot spawns in the outer room, NOT the one the chest is in.&nbsp If you have the cracker in your action bar just click on it and the parrot will get small and be small when you go into the outer room to fight him.

&nbsp 3.&nbsp Do NOT rpt NOT open the chest more than ONCE otherwise you will spawn TWO parrots and only one of them will be small.&nbsp The second will kick your butt rather quickly.&nbsp (Voice of experience here!)&nbsp I was lvl 18 and the parrott before the cracker was lvl ? to me.&nbsp After the cracer tiny level 18 but still capable of kicking your butt if you don't have a potion or two on hand.

&nbsp 4.&nbsp If something happens and you screw the pooch and loose your cookie or spawn two parrotts.&nbsp simply abandon the quest and go get it again.&nbsp both birds will disappear and you can do it right the 2nd time.

&nbsp 5.&nbsp The directions in the above posts are spot on so I am not going to repeat them.

&nbsp 6.&nbsp I could only get my lockpicking to 80.&nbsp after that it appeared to be maxed. another 10 chest openings and it didn't go up.&nbsp don't know why, don't particularly care .. just a point of reference.

At Level 16, like above, maxed my lockpicking to 80 on the different boxes in about 10 minutes..just stand inbetween a couple of them and just alternate. 1 of the boxes had random effects, 2 times I got frost nova'd, 2 times I got turned into a rat or something.. Then I went to the Treasure box, picked it no problems, Polly spawned, I gave him the cracker ( from my action bar..much easier )..then sliced him up. Died once, but when I came back, he was still small and I took him out. Turned in the quest and got 10 thistle teas :).

Just get it to 85 on the boxes. It's worth it in the long run.

where do you get the ECAC?

Oh ya, I forgot to mention why thistle tea is so wonderful. As a rogue, you depend on energy to perform special moves such as sinister strike, backstab, and eviscerate. Most every rogue, regardless of level, is limited to 100 energy (with talents, some can get 110). In a tough fight, you can easily exhaust your energy, and you have to wait for it regenerate over time. This diminishes your damage output and combo point gain. Thistle tea instantaneously fills your energy bar to the full 100. This will allow you to unload a new torrent of high damage abilities and can potentially save your life in select fights

Actually you can get your LP skill up to 90 on the chests on the second floor :D

I think this is a glitch after wasting my time reading all of you repeat yourselves...but after I give polly the cracker it turns into the lvl 18 parrot, but all of my attacks just say 'Immune'...If it is a glitch I would apreaciate it if any of you knew how to fix it..

Since the patch, Polly is immune to physical attacks.&nbsp Me and a guildmate went in with his warlock and the warlock fed polly a nice few dots for dinner before become it became one with the floor.

1. First , need take a E.C.A.C from robot near quest giver.
2. Then Need move to 64.45 . 64.45 is in the ship .
3. In the ship was a box . It name is The Jewel of the Southsea .
4. Then need one time open The Jewel of the Southsea . And in the minute there come a bird lvl 50.
5. Then need target bird and give she E.C.A.C . In the 2 seconds she's level will be demoted to 18 level and bird will be maked smaller .
6. Need to kill that bird and take from she Southsea Treasure.
7. Need move back to Ratchet for your revard ^^ .

the reason you could not go further than 80 is because lockpicking is like any weapon skill. It has a maximum of your level times 5. Each time you level, you get five more points available to train up on. This is why a level 50 who decides to use a new style of weapon cannot hit very well. It's also why after fifty locks you still did not go above 80. 80 was your cap at 16.

Have done everything up to killing the level 18 polly... after giving him the ECAC he shrinks, but when i try to attack him, it just says hes immune.... this is annoying. also i have had a theives tool, is there any difference from the one the machine gives you in ratchet? cause i cant get that one

I saw a few posts saying the quest is bugged. It's not. Go into the ship, go down the stairs, walk to your right and on the right is a door. Go through that door into a room full of chests. Run up your lockpicking skill to the maximum. Then go out of the room and straight ahead, down the stairs and in the next room you will find a chest. Pick the lock on the chest and the level ? parrot spawns and attacks.

Use the E.C.A.C. while the parrot is targetted and after 5 seconds or so the parrot will be a level 18 normal mob. Kill the parrot and loot the quest item.

Easy. If you do not have the E.C.A.C. then go back to where you picked up the quest in Ratchet and talk to the robot next to the quest giver for the E.C.A.C. you need.

but today when i want to do my quest i found the chest to me is red? i tried to open it but it always say " its locked" i have the tool, why?
the NPC says i can practice from the priates den, where is it?

OMG got to ratchet to get the q..found out i needed thieves tool.. so i ran back to xroads and flew to org to buy,but then i foud out i could have bought it in xroads ffs! and also i find out i have to get something from the robot,run back to ratchet and the st00pid robot isent there..so i abandon q, and cant get it back from the goblin! OMFG! going back to org to see if i can get it back there.. FFS

only u have to open the chest the, wen polly comes, use the cookie and polly down at lvl 18

i tried to do the quest and died a couple times.. now i can't get ECAC no more from the robot.. my rogue just laughs and that is it.. :(

That bird is hopped up on steroids or something...

I don't know if anyone has experianced this but I leveled up my lockpicking first then tried to open the chest. when it open I was told that all I see is cracker crumbs and big green feathers. What is the respawn rate for this quest, cause I did not kill the bird hehe.

Every time I try to get my E.C.A.C my character just laughs and I don't receive anything! WTH! Then I go to the boat to even try to pick the locks and get my skill up and that isn't working either, so I can't even get to the bird, let alone try to kill it! Can someone contact me if they know anything about this? Thanx

When I attempted this quest, I could not use the ECAC. Every time I tried using the ECAC, it told me that the target was not in sight. I informed a GM and he told me that there were reported bugs with the quest. How did you use the ECAC on the parrot? Just want to know if I was doing something wrong.

Now I've gotten this quest and if i try to train my skill on the trainings-chests the chest opens and than - nothing. My char is shrinking and can nothing more do. Someone here who knows about this? I've the quest, I've the tools, and I'm a rogue lvl 16.

As a L17 rogue, polly is completely immune to my attacks, even when shrunk. I'm going to have to wait 'till later and re-attempt this.

And, despite what Kezlar says, the parrot can attack you before you go up the stairs.

Confirmed earlier today with GM that this quest is definately busted (and it can't be that long ago that it worked since there is another high-teens guildie rogue who did it successfully just a few weeks ago).
