Assessing the Threat

Kill 10 Redridge Mongrels and 6 Redridge Poachers, then report back to Deputy Feldon in Lakeshire.
  •
Redridge Mongrel slain (10)
  •
Redridge Poacher slain (6)

Description

We don't have men to spare, but something must be done about those gnolls you reported to me.

Scout southern Redridge for gnolls. Harry them, kill those you can and report back to me with a count of their numbers and an assessment of the threat they present. You may find those gnolls camped all along the southern road of Redridge.

Do this for the Stormwind Army, <name>, and you will be rewarded.

Follow the path south. You come to a little U bend (easy to see on the map). There is a dirt track (lakeridge highway) leading east. Take this to poacher heaven.

especially if you have the Redridge Goulash quest. But don't hit those whelps from a distance, they'll just fry you.

This was green for me at level 22 and it was a piece of cake. I went in the direction of Stonewatch Keep and there was a camp there...they roam all over the field and it's really easy to pick them off. Also, they respawn really fast.

Not too hard for a mage... did it lvl 15 np. Usually if you sheep one of the guys at the camp only one more will come after you.

The Poachers are found at 25,18
You will also find the largest group of Mongrels here so this is a good spot to work from.

I just did this with a 16 Druid, no problem. A few times i would go in as casterform and root entangle one, then shapeshift into bear and stun another and then simply use this tactic to keep two mobs outta the way while i fought the one Poacher in the camp, in Bear form you can take a beating and once he's dead you just run away until aggro clears.

So 1 lvl16 druid against four of these fellas is doable, granted, a healpotion might be needed if the root entangle is resisted and you have bad luck.

I found a good crop of these gnolls directly south of Lakeshire, just across the Highway. The poachers are easy (which, of course, is why you only need six, as opposed to ten mongrels >.<) -- you can find plenty roaming by themselves on the edges. The mongrels are harder -- only a couple spawn by themselves most are linked to a poacher, and the majority are in the camps which comprise of two poacher-mongrel pairs. Still, it was pretty easy to do for a level 18 using patience and a bit of creative pulling/pet use.
