Found wandering around 62,34 . Please note the easiest way to fight him by urself is to pull him with a ranged attack and kite him. Keeping moving so you do not have to fight the two rogues that are hidden with him (they move a lot slower trying to sneak up on u, so you can just walk backwards shooting or casting).

Hope this helps.

Caliph paths around near the water towers (https://classicdb.ch/?npc=7847). Be careful, he's got 2 stealthed Wastewander Rogues following him around.

(Note that this is an update of my post on Thottbot almost a year ago. I thought it would be useful here.)

There are four water towers that form a T shape: a central one at 61,34 and three around it to the SW, SE and NE at 60,37 63,37 and 63,31. Stand at the central one and you can see them all.

Caliph Scorpidsting spawns at the Waterspring camp at 58,39 near the SW tower, but don't try to kill him here as there are two Wastewander Shadow Mages with their voidwalker minions waiting to interfere with you if you do. He is accompanied at all times by two stealthed Wastewander Rogues.

After a minute or two Scorpidsting walks off to the central tower at 62,35. From here he walks back most of the way to his camp. Then he returns to the central tower and goes on to the southern one at 63,37. If he gets this far without being killed his two bodyguards disappear completely and he breaks into a run back towards the camp where he started. On the way there he also vanishes until he respawns at the camp once more.

So to find him, look first at the camp. If he's there then wait for him to move off and get him between the towers. If not then go via the central tower to the south tower. If you don't see him on the way then he's dead and you should go back to the camp to wait for him to respawn.

This was easy with my rogue as I could use distract to freeze and kill each of the bodyguards in turn and then deal with Scorpidsting himself.

Ok since there are some tools on here who think that wow and cosmos are inseperable here is where I found this guy, Yes believe it or not with out cosmos (please hold your shock and amazement).

Ok these directions will be coming FROM the south from Lost rigger cove

As you exit Lost rigger cove head north onto wave strider beach.
When you hit the beach go left(west) this will bring you into waterspring field
As you approach you will see several tall spire looking things these are water towers
Based on what I have seen he wanders between these towers so keep an eye out.
When I found him he seemed to be favoring the western most towers.
There aren't that many towers so he shouldnt be too tough to locate I found him in about 15 mins.

And since everybody feels it necessary.... I soloed him with a level 44 hunter and the 2 rogues did appear to attack.

Here's my little "secret" for people without Cosmos. Scroll to the top of this quest description. Click on the link for the item you need to get ("Caliph Scorpidsting's Head"). Scroll down to where it says "dropped by" and find the right guy (the one that's been killed over 5,000 times). Click on the "map" link by the appropriate mob. Look at the map. You can even click on the map to make it bigger. If there are multiple boxes showing his location spread out over a certain area, he obviously moves around in that area. Go there. Kill him. Apply this new-found knowledge to other quests you look up on Thott. Stop arguing about people giving or not giving coords so I don't have to read it for every quest on the site.

I saw two stealthed Wastewander Rogues moving together toward a tower and followed them. They were moving Southwest toward the water tower at Cosmos loc 62,35. When they reached the tower they moved just past it, then turned around and went back Northeast. Caliph Scorpidsting spawned and joined them and the three of them continued walking NE toward the next water tower.

As a rogue, it's easy to time a Distract so that Caliph is pulled away from the two adds that patrol with him, and then take him out when they're a good distance away.

if you're a melee class, you might wanna clear the mobs around the area before you try your luck with him because if you're actually clearing the rogues first, they'll run away and you ain't gonna kill them in time if you get disarmed.

otherwise, just kill caliph straightaway, and run - the rogues wouldnt stay on your tail for long. after that return and loot his head.

I saw the hidden rogues but bypassed it!
I'm a rogue myself, went in stealth and came just close enough so he would stand still and watch in my direction without attacking me....on that point, he stands still and the rogues keep on moving! only works for 3 seconds or so and the rogues are still in attack distance, and then he runs back for the rogues.
BUT, the rogues are just far enough to use distraction on caliph himself! this should give you enough space between his adds and him to kill him!

good luck

My first post ever, so bear with me... I just soloed him (43lvl BM Hunter) with my new-found pet (unruly) and actually had some trouble at first; encountered two stealthed adds and Caliph himself and they slayed my pet pretty quickly but fortunately didn't resist my Feign Death at all. I fulfilled my health and mana and attacked him again, now the stealthed adds were visible but again my pet got killed too quickly and I had to FD again. Third time I watched close and noticed how the adds stopped walking and were like peering about but Caliph kept on walking. Now that he really was alone, at the third attempt it was easy to kite him alone until he died.

Moral of the story: preparation is profound! :-) If I'd have to do this quest again, I would probably use Explosive Trap and Volley to maximize the damage done if you encounter him with the adds, put my pet on Intimidation and Bestial Wrath and grab everyone aggros, Serpent Sting everyone and start blasting at them as much as possible. I didn't have time to do any of these as the amount of DPS Caliph and his rogues were dealing to me and my pet totally overwhelmed on the first attempt. If you are hunter like me, keep a close eye on your pet's health to time your Feign Death correctly if you get in trouble should your pet fall..

I have to admit that I'm not very seasoned WoW-player, only a bit over month under my belt and this 43lvl Tauren Hunter is my one and only character so far... probably pretty easy quest when you get full hang of the things! :)

I was doing other wastwander quests when I "accidentally" ran into him with two rogues. I was a lvl 45 Druid then. Not problem soloeing all three at all. Fought in Dire Bear form, barkskined and healed myself once (I think after Caliph was dead and one rogue is down to half health). easy quest for a feral druid.

Soloed him at level 43 as a priest. He's a level 46 mob and he's got a couple of level 43 rogues protecting him.

Bascially just hit him with Pain and Devouring Plague and then Shielded and planted a couple of Mind Blasts on him before running from his rogues and Fading while he died from the DOTs.

5050 XP reward, got me to level 44. :)
