Skulk Rock Clean-up

Kill 10 Green Sludges and 10 Jade Oozes, and then report back to Fraggar Thundermantle in Aerie Peak.
  •
Green Sludge slain (10)
  •
Jade Ooze slain (10)

Description

We Wildhammers remember the past, more than our brothers in Ironforge. If you want to make friends here, then you get your hands dirty for us!

The Horde abandoned their positions in the Hinterlands around Skulk Rock; it's now overrun with nasty sludges and oozes. We've got plans on that area, but first we need a clean-up crew to make a hole for us.

That's where you come in, Sunshine! Head down there and take out ten green sludges and ten jade oozes, then report back to me here. Move out!

The Green Sludge and the Jade Oozes are in the middle of the Hinterlands map to the North. The area is called Agol'watha or, obviously, Skulk Rock.&nbsp There's lots of them, have fun. =D

You don't have to go all the way to Skulk Rock!&nbsp There's a nice little area (see my screenshots) south of it (I think it's called creeping ruins).

A small group of oozes and sludges - even a named one on the hill!

Skulk Rock is a hill with a small cave and can be found on the map in the northeastern side, just south of the river. If you have a coordinates plugin, the enterance is at 57,43.

Jade Ooze are located on the outside and Green Sludge can be found inside the cave and on top of the mound outside. Both mobs are level 46 - 49 and can usually be pulled one at a time.

The enterance to the cave, where you can find the mose Green Sludge can be found at the bottom of the north side of the hill (57,38)

This is a pretty easy quest to do a lower level than the quest (48). I did it at 45 and wouldn't recommend much lower as some of the Jade Oozes get up to around level 48 and it becomes difficult to hit.

Take it slow and this quest is OK. Pull one at time and mind the sleathed panthers about. 4400 XP at Lvl 44.

I just finished this quest on my 45 rogue, and I do recommend drawing the Jade Oozes singly with a ranged weapon to avoid adds.

As far as drops go, I've only ever had two epics drop for me in over a year and a half of playing, and both (Kang the Decapitator and Blackskull Shield) dropped off mobs during this quest. Different characters, different accounts - the only common thread being they were dwarf females.

But yes - they do drop purples, and apparently quite a few blues, so try your luck.

Did this as 44 warlock, not that hard. Just pull them one at a time with CoA and let the VW tank. Crappy drops....best was a slime covered bag containing 20 silver. The Horde boxes inside had crappy loot as well...all told, 5 boxes got me 3 moonberry juices and 2 black truffles.

Location: The Hinterlands Wildhammer Keep 14.44 (To recieve and complete the quest). Skulk Rock 57.38 (Green Sludges and Jade Oozes).

Description: Levels 46-48. The lower level 46's are found inside the cave. It's easier to actually go inside the cave to meet your quota, instead of grinding these mobs around the cave.

Made sure my armor was as stout as possible, loaded both daggers with poison, increased Spirit & Stamina with "Well Fed", and waded in.

Green Sludges range from L45-47 and can be taken singly, but you need to make sure some aren't hiding behind a wall in a corner so that they aggro when you are attacking another one. Also, as a L45 rogue, it is more challenging to stealth to attack a higher level NPC, and approaching from the rear is best. A couple L47 Green Sludges patrol within the compound, so be careful while you are attacking something else.

The Jade Oozes range from L47-48, and are usually surrounded by Green Sludges. You can coax a few out (one at a time) with a ranged weapon, but it still took me quite some time to get through this quest (over an hour) as I had to replenish HPs many times. The Green Sludges are easy, the Jade Oozes are more challenging.

There are a couple of loot boxes within the compound (check in the corners and by some of the debris) that contain some good healing food and mageweave, sometimes something better!

4400 XP at L45

Did this as a level 46 NE warrior. Took a while because I finally found the jade oozes actually at Skulk Rock. The Green oozes I just hung out at the first wall before Skulk Rock and took them out one at a time. Good xp when doing this as solo. Nothing worth looting though.

I did this with my 49 Dwarf Hunter. Got into the zone and found myself a 46 druid killing aswell. We did them so fast it was stupid. I got 4400 xp for it, and the xp for killing them was not bad either.

This quest is hardly worth the time for me. 50s and a pixel or 2 reputation increase is it. The oozes/sludges don't drop any cash and very few items other than 1s apiece ichor/slime/etc. Easy kills but time-consuming vs. the reward.
