The Super Snapper FX

Use the Super Snapper FX to take a snapshot of Gammerita, then return to Daryn Lightwind in Rut'theran Village.
Snapshot of Gammerita
Super Snapper FX
Provided Item:
Super Snapper FX

Description

Have the first look at my new invention, <name>. All you need to do is target whatever it is you'd like to take a picture of, and push the button.

What was that creature from the Hinterlands that you mentioned? Gammerita? Well, good luck finding her. I'm sure Daryn will be quite pleased with the snapshot you return to her.

In any case, here's the Super Snapper. Have fun!

U can send a XX,XX all day. The turtle Patrols the coast in the Hinterlands. It's blue so you'll be able to know when you find him. He patrols on the right side of the water fall

You're looking for Gammerita (she was a level 48 elite in classic, demoted to a just a standard level 48 for Burning Crusade and Lich King and is now simply a standard level 31 mob after the Cataclysm... nothing to get nervous about anymore). She's the only named [and non-neutral] turtle patrolling the beach from north to south along the eastern coast of The Hinterlands (between Raventusk village and the waterfall). All you need to do is get close enough to her to click the camera... you don't actually have to fight or kill her... you can even take a shot of her after someone else has killed her. This quest does count toward the Loremaster of Kalimdor (A|H) achievement.

Note that this quest is obsolete after the Cataclysm and Gammerita no longer has a quest associated with her.

The turtle is on the eastern coast of the Hinterlands.&nbsp It paths near the waterfall at 80,47, moving north and south.

If you find the turtle dead.. take the picture anyway and turn it in. The other turtles in the area are yellow so you will not pull agro from them.

Just walk up and down the coast on mount spamming

/target Gammerita

(after typing it once just hit enter, hold ALT and the up key, then press enter) - rinse and repeat.

Didn't take long to find her.

What was awesome was that someone else had already killed her, so I took a photo of the dead body then skinned her, haha.

72, 66 is the entrance to the lower east coast in the Hinterlands. You dont have to jump, there is a path there.

While doing this quest you can also do the quest:
Whiskey Slim's Lost Grog ( you pick it up in Stranglethornvale).

This one is a fairly easy quest, unless you opt to fight Gammerita.
Take the path down from near the graveyard and you will find her north of there on the coast. When you shap the shot she will charge (doesn't like papparatzi?). If you are going to fight, keep in mind she is a lvl 48 elite, otherwise, run.

Level 42 Rogue, walked up to her, took snapshot and walked away... no sprint (wasn't ready yet) and no vanish (also not ready yet)... She gives up very easily:)

Also did [47] Favored of Elune?, while i was near Eary Peak anyway....

Good easy xp:)

I'll post it here because it was this quest that caused me to start exploring. After taking the pic, I started running north, trying to find path up. I'm night elf rogue and had to HS from Darnassus to Stormwind and fly from there to Aerie's Peak, so my HS had about 50 min cooldown left. I didn't notice any path up so I continued north. And continued some more. Past Eastern Plaguelands (I had to swim some parts and I could walk some parts). Then it said "Quel'Thalas" above my minimap. I checked my world map and noticed I'm travelling through Ghostlands! But not by walking, but by swimming.I should've been in the middle of Ghostlands and to the south I see high mountains (couldn't climb over them, tried several times) and to north, the sea. Or ocean or whatever, lots and lots of water. I swam near the mountain base, and, according to some mod that shows coordinates on world map, at 52,19, I found something interesting: a small tower, just like the lighthouse in Desolace, only smaller. And some other ruins. But there was no one there. I searched the place, found nothing and moved on. Eventually, I reached Tirisfal Glades and could get out of water near Scarlet Monastery, can't remember the name of the beach or shore.

So, has anyone else been to the mysterious ruins at 52,19?

Oh, and I play at Vek'Nilash PVP-server. Night elf rogue named Ayami. Damn that was long text.

Uh, dont do what I did and destroy the camera after you take the picture to free up bag space. You require both items to complete the quest.

As of patch 2.3, Gammerita is just a regular level 48 mob, no longer elite. If she attacks you, you may as well kill her instead of running.

This turtle is an off-color to the rest&nbsp in that area. It patrols between the waterfall and Raventusk Village. So, if you don't see it, most likely it's recently been killed. Respawn is about 15 minutes.

As for the path, yes it's there. I guess for some of you city slickers, you wouldn't know a dirt path if you walked on it. The path is just off to the left as you approach the Elite Trolls on the main road. The dirt path leads to the edge of the cliff which&nbsp has a path down to the beach. Very easy and no need to kill yourself jumping off the waterfall&nbsp -)

Taking a picture of the corpse works too - even if you didn't kill it. Much better than waiting for a respawn.

This quest is really easy and can be grouped with Whiskey Slim's Lost Grog http://classicdb.ch/?quest=580 and the final part of Cortello's Riddle http://classicdb.ch/?quest=626 I soloed it on my 48 warrior. All you have to do is find Gammerita on the eastern coast of the Hinterlands, she patrols so you may have to look a bit. Her shell is white so she'll stand out from the other turtles. Put the Super Snapper FX into your action bar, then when you find Gammerita, target her from a distance and move in just close enough to take the picture. Once you do she'll aggro so get ready to run. You'll automatically be in combat so you won't be able to mount but you can easily outrun her on foot without any speed buffs.

the day I went to do this, horde were camping the path leading down to the shore.

i walked to the waterfall, crawled out on the rock ledge closest to me, edged all the way out and jumped. landed in deep water, took no damage.

gammerita wasn't very far south of there, and unlike other turtles there she is hostile to alliance. targeted her, flashed her, ran for the water, shapeshifted and swam for it. she got one good bite (326 damage) and went back to the shore.

I'm sure a swim speed potion or azure silk belt would work as well as the angry sea lion swim boost.

laughed at the photo and hearthed out. lvl 44.
(edit)
oh, and horde have a quest for her too. you may run into them. I did. waited for them to finish and run off, then moved in.

I found gammerita at 79,57 , there where two horde there a lvl 60 rogue and a 60 hunter for some odd reason killing it. The funny thing is this actually made it much easier because ure aloud to take a picture of the it when its dead.

Oh ya and gimmarita is just a turtule like the others roaming around, except she is a differnt color and she is elite

I was able to do it, not a hard quest for a 47 hunter. But beware! If your playing on a pvp server and if your not at all good at Player Vs Player then I would highly recommend bringing someone with you. For some odd reason Horde love to grind down there. I found the turtle on the northern end of the cost by the water.

Gammerita wanders all along the coast starting to the NOrth at 82,49 and wandering as far South as 75,67. It wanders over to hills and back to shore and sometimes disappears into the water as it goes along its route. It's easy to spot in contrast to the Snapjaws. Gammerita has a white shell and aqua legs which makes it very visible.

I tried looking at the cords, the best one was 80,56. I traveled along the mountains along the coast utill i came to the area where she should be, i jupped down and she was walking with the other turtles. She is blue and lvl 48.
She does attack when you get close to her, but you don't need to kill her. I took her pitcure and left. Very simple.
went when i was a lvl 44 worlock.
