Gordunni Cobalt (12)
Orwin's Shovel
Provided Item:
Orwin's Shovel

Description

I just arrived here in Feralas, and I've heard that the Gordunni Ogres that inhabit the wilds here have some interesting minerals. Who knows what they are up to, but they sure are protective of that stuff! They don't leave it just lying around; no, they bury it to protect folks like me from getting their hands on it.

If you'd be willing, I'll give you my shovel. Go to the Gordunni Outpost north of here and dig me up some Gordunni cobalt. Look for the blue glow, then start digging!

Go to the Ogre's bases, their are two (see the map) and you will find little blue glowing things on the ground around the outskirts of the base, use the tool you got from the quest "Orwin's Shovel" near the glow and it will turn into a mound on the groud that you can loot. If the mound has long blue glow eminating from it, it contains a Gordunni Cobalt, otherwise it contains junk. The glowing ground respawns pretty fast so you can do it around a single camp.

Just use the shovel near the blue glowing spots on the ground, and a "Gordunni Dirt Mound" will appear, which you can loot for your cobalt (or in some cases, disgusting ogre clothing).

just a hint - when the mounds appear after you've used the spade, if they have a blue glow to them, there's a cobalt in them.

no blue glow on the mound = junk.

Do this quest with:

Ogres of Feralas

The entrance to the Ogre encampment is at the top of the lake that supplies the river running south to Mohache.&nbsp There is a mine at the begining and two paths you can take from the entrance area.&nbsp The one to the north leads to another mine and has lots of the cobalt.&nbsp There are spots where you can stand and use the pick five or six times then loot the one pile 5 or 6 times.&nbsp If you take the path to the east, you come upon two adjoined camp areas.&nbsp Keep an eye out for the scrolls on the ground.&nbsp They begin a quest.&nbsp First step of that quest is to turn the scroll into the same person as gives the quest above.

Use the shovel you have on some blue-ish glowing spots on the ground, it will spawn a dirt mound that you can loot. Don't bother looting the mounds which do not glow blue, as they don't contain cobalt.

The spots can be found all around the Gordunni Outpost North of Camp Mojache

They're all around the ogres near 76,29, but they are very hard to detect until you know what you're looking for.&nbsp Look for a faint blue glow from the ground, then click on the shovel to dig for about half a second.&nbsp Nothing will happen at first, but a brown mound will appear nearby.&nbsp Click on it and maybe it will contain cobalt, maybe something else.&nbsp (anybody know how much ripped ogre loincloths sell for at AH? casue I got a bunch of em.)

for this quest there are little blue glowing spots in the ground. Once you walk over them right click your shovel and then a dirt mound appears. Right click the dirt mound and you get a cobalt. The entrance to the place was about 80,34.. at least it was for me, there could have been more places to go in.

The mounds that contain cobalt always gain a blue cylindrical shaped glow after being dug. Trash mounds have no glow.

Your proximity to the mound doesn't appear to affect drop rate.

Very easy for anyone who can sneak around (Druid, Rogue). The cobalt is usually not near any mobs so that helps quite a bit. I collected them all and fought only two ogres.

You don't have to go into the caves to dig up the Cobalt. Stand near a blue "shiny" dot and right-click the shovel. The dot is replaced with another mound that you right-click on again to get the Cobalt.

I went into the caves first and then dug at the dots. No fighting at the dots.

If you can spare yourself the experience from the quest, and want to have a little fun....Orwin's Shovel can be used anywhere, not just in the Gordunni compound....

Lots of fun to mine the bank in Orgrimmar and have people staring curiously =P

Quest is good for EXP if you do this with the quest that requires you to kill various ogres.. The best place to find the cobalt is north of the trail by the back of the ogre camp. You should be able to get all 12 by the time you make it back there.

Go north of Camp Mojache following the right side of the river to the end then you will see a path follow it up to the Orge camp the blue things can be found all over the ground in the camp just dig them up with the shovel. Also the little blue things do make a sound like when your near a portal.

Easy quest. Look for blue spots on the ground. There are several as soon as you go in and they are in a grp far from mobs so its easy and simple!

Did it with a 44 hunter -> no prob! (if you got pets, you can aggro a close orge and mine the spots)

the quest is given by Orwin Gizzmick who roams around Camp Mojache. Walks up and down the main road going through. Easiest way to do the quest is take the trail behind the pavilion just north of the camp. There's 43 ogres which you need to kill for another quest in the camp given by an npc by the flight path. The ogres are pretty easy to kill for even my 41 hunter. When you see the light blue dots on the ground right click your shovel from intentory then right click the mound that pops up. If the mound has blue lights coming up it has the cobalt, if not it has worthless item. Good luck =)

Ok this is easy. When you dig up the mounds of little blue dots, a new mound appears. When it does, if it doe snot have a blue light coming out of it, it do esnot have the cobalt inside of it and move on. Otherwise you will just get some lame pants or teeth.

76, 29 dig with the shovel when you see the blue glowing thingys on the ground (near trees usually) and dirt mounds pop up, the dirt mounds that glow blue will have the item, regular dirt mounds just have grey items so far.

If the mound you create glows blue then its got cobalt in it. If not, don't bother (unless you have a loincloth fetish:)

Fun little quest, straightforward. You can do the Gordunni Ogre quest at the same time. I did this solo at 39. There is an entrance at the end of te river, by the waterfall, but I went in the back way which is down the zone wall past the pavillion and past a rock outcropping. Had to work up the side of the hill a bit, but entered the ogre camp by a kitchen of some sort. Found the Gordunni scroll on the ground there, as well. Tons of blue spots and a good area to kill ogres for the other quest. Mages were easy. I just earth shocked them to interrupt casting. Toughest customers were the brutes. Took every ouce of mana I had to solo the 43's.

Ok, I did this quest tonight, pretty easy and straightforward for my level 40ish hunter. There are blue spots all throughout the camp.

Sometimes when you use the shovel, you will get random items from the dirt mounds other than cobalt. I got things like old bones, ogre teeth...and, tada RIPPED OGRE LOINCLOTH, a cloth item for your legs which has no level requirement. It looks pretty funny on my toon, and I purposely did not turn this quest in for awhile because I was busy farming loincloths for all my friends. All these items sell to the vendor for silver, so if you want a neat clothing item to gross out your friends and make them laugh in horror, keep digging until you get an Ogre Loincloth.
