Seeping Corruption

Fill all 4 Empty Vials at the tide pools along the coast of the Ruins of Eldarath in Azshara before returning to Chemist Cuely.

Box of Empty Vials

Description

See that tauren behind me--the one who looks like she's going to be ill at any moment? She was in Azshara recently. She claims she was wounded by some naga while making her way through the Ruins of Eldarath.

After fighting off a few of them, she took a break on the beach and drank from one of the tide pools. Now she's feeling nauseous... among other things.

I'd like to find out what she drank. Take this box, in it are some empty vials I labeled. Fill each at different pools and come back.

This Quest takes place along the beach to the East. The tide pols are as follow.

/tloc (with cosmos)

#1 47,61
#2 47,52
#3 48,49
#4 46,46

The quest was not too hard you just have to deal with 49-52 Naga. They were spread out pretty good and I could take them on one at a time.

I made this macro

/use Empty Vial Labeled #1
/use Empty Vial Labeled #2
/use Empty Vial Labeled #3
/use Empty Vial Labeled #4

Then you don't have to worry about what vial is for what pool ^^

I don't have Cosmos, so here's a bit of help to those who also were confused by the coordinates...

#1 is located in Southridge Beach approximately in the middle of the 'wet sand' area on the map.
#2 is directly north of #1 just inside the North border of Southridge Beach.
#3 & #4 are north of #2 in the Shattered Strand area

I went into each pool and right clicked on the vial.&nbsp If you're not sure which pool is which, just keep right clicking each vial until one starts to fill.&nbsp Good luck!

A Druid or Rogue should have no problem completing this quest as soon as it is attainable at level 46. Stealth works great, and there is just enough free space near/in each pool to be safe while filling the vials.

Don't know what the hell they were doin, but some the coordinates have you up the beach away from any kind of water. I use the map addon that comes with CTMod, maybe whatever mods they use have display them differently.&nbsp Also for the record they go in order from SOUTH to NORTH not the other way around.

#1 49,62
#2 49,52
#3 50,49
#4 48,47

If you look on your map tide pools 1,2 and 4 are on there. Number 3 is right next to 4, couple yards south of it.

EDIT- Forgot to say, Chemist Cuely begins and ends the quest and the Tauren stands right next to him. Cuely is located in the Apothicarium, in the back section underneath the hallway to the royal quarter.

I had a lot of trouble filling vial #1.&nbsp There is a tide pool quite a bit south of the others that seemed like it SHOULD be tide pool #1, but when I tried to fill the vial, it wouldn't let me.

So I went up and down the beach several more times, searching in vain for another tide pool.

Finally, after exhausting all my other options, I went back to the tide pool and started walking around the pool, trying to fill the vial every few feet, at varying depths within the pool.&nbsp On about the fifth try, it worked..

So just keep at it. If the quest says "Need Tide Pool #1", just move over a bit and try it again.

I have been up and down the beach 4 times, in land and on the coast... can someone tell me where #1 is filled?

Reply Posted by Excedrin on 2005-01-10 18:06:19 it's south from #2.. they go in order 1 2 3 4 from N to S it's behind a big hill.

If they go in order from N to S, 1 must be N of 2.

They are right there on the mini map.&nbsp You can see all 4, so you don't really need the coords except to make sure you are at the right pool perhaps.

It does help to know that they are just regular pools.&nbsp Nothing special about them.

If youre a lock, just pull them one by one with your voidy, it is relatively easy when they dont resist the dots, dont even worry about trying to DPS unless youre finishing off with confligrate or what have ye.

and yes, the chest deep in the water worked perfect the first time on all 4 of them.

I can't fill the third vial, tried standing everywhere in the pool at every depth. Filled the other 3 fine without worrying about chest-deep or anything - anywhere worked, except for this pool.

The pools are nothing special. Just small pools of water on the ground that you would normally run around. They dont stand out in any way. The only way you know your in a poool is by clicking the vials and seeing if one fills up.

I think it's nice of Blizz to not give those pools a tooltip or other indication which pools are meant except the "tide pools" in the quest text.
I spoiled it though by reading this page first :D

For those who do not use Cosmos, the pools are located due east of the Ruins of Eldarath, close to the shoreline.
On the large map of Azshara, you can see 2 trails leading to the coast. If you follow these due east, the 4 pools will be between them (or really close).

I also found that as a Shaman, using the Grounding Totem early kept the Sirens from hurting me too badly with their DoT spells. So hit them with Lightning Bolt, then Chain Lightning, and start closing with them. You can throw Frost Shock on the way, then drop the Grounding Totem (and maybe the Magma) and start swinging.

I want to add that this Quest is a total of over 8000 XP. You get 2550 when you return to him, 500 for giving it to her, and then he gives you 5100. This is a lot of XP for about 5 minutes of work.

thanks for posting coords. i spent 30 minutes riding up and down that beach last night and couldn't find pool #1! i did pick up some nice exp and a few good greens off the nagas.

this is a nice grind area lots of spread out, unlinked mobs. only silver and clam drops, and few item drops.

i'll try to find pool 1 during lunch today.

I found a problem with the first pool too, I tried that pool three times, and it wasn't till I read this then went to the middle that I could get the vial filled..
