The ring well outways all the running around you have to do for this story arc, well worth it, plus all the xp from the Deadmines and the Stockades. But if your doing the stockades, make sure you have all the quest that go with it:
Bazill Thredd (Stormwind)
Crime and Punishment (Duskwood)
Quell the Uprising (Stormwind)
The Color of Blood (Stormwind)
The fury Runs Deep (Wetlands)
The Stockade Riots (At the Stockades itself)
What Comes Around (Redridge)

This chain is definitely one of the best quest chains in the entire game. The ring is good too.

I disagree with the previous poster.&nbsp I completed this quest series at level 24.&nbsp I had help along the way, but that's how you maximize your quest rewards.&nbsp Not only did I get a ring that is somewhat helpful to me as a caster (gnome/mage), but I got 3750 XP, which bumped me to level 25.&nbsp All in all, I thought it was a very long, but rewarding quest chain.

I do wish that Anonymous would get the quests from "The Attack!" to "An Audience with the King" appended to the nine-step Defias/Van Cleef quest chain.&nbsp They are all part of the same series.

To the person who talked to the GM:

The king has not moved location.

He is the Missing Diplomat, trapped on Altraz Island. His son is now king.

Since the son is now king, Lady Katrana speaks for him.

Very nice twink ring.

Keep in mind that if you're going to use it for your twink, you should start "The unsent letter" quest from Van Cleef immediately at lvl 16. The whole quest chain gives you 12515XP, mobs excluded.

For your other ring you should choose the Warsong Gulch PvP reward ring.

I ran through this line (still need the duskwood and redridge parts), but want to put a little clarity here.

The quest tells you to speak to "King Varian Wrynn". A search here for that King does not find you anything.

When you get to the court, you are questioned marked by "Lady Katrana Prestor", which is the NPC you need to speak to for this quest. She tells you that the King is away on "...a diplomatic mission...".

She gives you the ring, 3750 XP, and 500 (non human) Rep points with Stormwind.

For twinks who have just learned of this, if your 19 you can still do the quest line and not pass 20, You just need a high level to take you through all the parts. (which will make it go faster AND eat up a lot of the Mob exp you'll get.).

Started this questline again after I learned of the ring a few days ago, and at 19 I had to go back through DM to get the letter, but due to having a high level I just waited at the entrance for him to clear the instance, except for VC, then ran up and looted VC after he killed him, overall (because of the respawning pats) I got about 900 - 1000 exp, so thats not too bad.

And you do the same thing for Stocks, which is easier because you dont have to worry about respawns as much. So unless your already close to leveling to 20, then I suggest you start the questline and get this ring.

If you start this quest chain flat out at 16 (with hardly any/no xp) you will just hit 17 when you finish it.

OK if you can't speak to the Lady then The reason why is that another quest is in progress. Still around for a bit and you get to see a really cool fight with the Lady next to the king turning into a Dragon oxiyia and all the guards around you doing the same think then they start killing everything. Just move out of the way let the guy who started the quest finish it and then wait 4-5 mins for them to respawn.

For you who think this quest line was so long you could kill your self. In the Onyxia key chain&nbsp before the end you will either kill youself or cry for a week. This quest is so much better so doing this quest line was nearly like a good dream compared. I did it on my 21 pala. Took arond 2-3 hours after i got the Q. :)

Storyline: You kill bad guys, you work like the police (running around like crazy doing something that seem pointless for every1 else) your job is to stop something and then you get the ring from that little boy. I didnt bother reading anything...

the ring may be crap for higher levels, but it's TOTAL PWNAGE at level 19. Find a good friend to boost you through this quest line and you will have a mighty blue ring to use in lvl 19 WSG.

I know a lot of people complain about how crappy this ring is. Honestly, for the level its pretty good considering the Alliance doesn't have access to the Seal of Sylvannas and I don't see many groups for SFK for the Silverlain Family Seal. If your a Hunter, Druid, Shaman, or Paladin you WILL use ALL of the stats on that ring. In my opinion that's crazy to get so many useful stats. Thing is every class benefits from this ring. Clothies get Sta, Int, and Spirit melee like Warriors and Rogues get Str, Agl, and Sta.

Seriously, unless you wait a long time to do this chain, say post 30, yeah, this ring may not be as good but you'll be hard pressed to find a ring to replace it with as rings are not easy to come by unless you have lots of gold to spend.

i got the letter, did all the quests (with help with some guildies lvl 60mage)

then i got the quest called "the attack!" i got a lvl 28 pally 2 help me kill the 2 lvl 30 guys we did it. i did the 3 other quests then i got the ring and im happy :P

Can this be completed at a level <19? I have the letter and can get high level escort for the work, but I don't know whether the chain will continue or if it will stop because of my level at some point? OMG you all dont know the NPC HISTORY

Heres why theres a child as king.

The true king went with an escort to see lady proudmoore in dustwallow marsh but he get kidnapped and for the Human race the king is important so the king child took his place for now but on the supervision of Lady Preston and High Lord Bolvar
both control Stormwind i wont talk of detail because i dont wanna spoil...
but its why theres 3 guys standing there with 1 that is a child
