The Strength of Corruption

Talo Thornhoof at Camp Mojache in Feralas wants you to kill 12 Angerclaw Grizzlies and 12 Felpaw Ravagers in Felwood.
  •
Angerclaw Grizzly slain (12)
  •
Felpaw Ravager slain (12)

Description

Being a hunter, I strive to emulate the strengths I see in my opponents. It is possible to turn the battle in your favor by simply knowing your enemy well, <name>.

In a place called Felwood, north of Ashenvale, the creatures have been tainted by a substance called fel. The bears and wolves have been driven mad by it, but I believe that they have also grown even stronger as well.

Go, <name>. Travel to Felwood and face these beasts. Learn for yourself if they are truly as strong as I believe.

Really guys, this quest shouldn't take you more than 15mins, depending on how fast you can kill.&nbsp There should be no searching and hunting for either one of these creatures at multiple locations.

Zone into "Felwood" -- And open up your map.

Look to the north and you will see "Irontree", which you'll see a crater like indentation.&nbsp Above it you will see Felpaw woods.

Above the Crater, where it says Irontree.. on themap.. there is a semi circle.. a decently large area.&nbsp Start on the left hand side of that and follow that semi circle all the way around, and you will never run out of your mob type.&nbsp If you get done with bears and need wolves, keep on going around.

This is a "locless" description.

Just above the crater, the land level above it, between the road and the crater... Follow that area around to your right.&nbsp You shouldn't have to turn around to finish.

Many more than a dozen of each mob before you finish.

Good luck,..

The bears and wolves seem to share spawn points, so if you're having trouble finding bears/wolves, try killing everything and they have a chance of respawning as a bear/wolf.

okay, a small update. Yes, I agree that it is worth flying to Bloodvenom Post if you have the flight path. If you don't, then make sure you get it while you are in Felwood, it's central Felwood, west of the road, near Bloodvenom Falls and it is quite remote.

Best place to find these mobs are around the Northern part of Felwood near the Timbermaw but a little bit south of them.

They drop Bear Jaws along with many other kinds of vendor trash. Combine that with Skinning and it makes them very nice to grind on.

The Grizzlies enrage at 25% health and they start hitting like trucks so becareful. They also use an ability called Low Swipe which not only does normal damage, but lowers your movement speed by 50% for a short duration, the combination of enrage and a 50% snare got me killed twice. >_<

Both can be found on the road north and northwest of irontree cavern. If you make a loop from the road to the valley west of felwood village and back around the south trees near the road, this quest should be done in at most two loops.

Did this as a lvl 51 troll mage.

I flew to Splintertree Post and then walked west onthe road and north to Felwood, first main road branching north, a minute walk west of the post.

Bears and wolves are all over the place, but specifically the Angerclaw Grizzly and Felclaw Ravager are far north along the road, north of Irontree.
careful, they put up a good fight and give good xp.

alhtough the above post is right - it takes an absolute age doing it that way - the mobs you want are in the very top of felwood.

I would suggest flying to felwood and heading east to the main road, then as far north as you can get - you will see plenty of maulers and scavengers - the ones you want are right at the top.

5100 XP at level 55. Don't believe there was any reward/award.

Wish I had known about this one earlier. All in northern Felwood region near Felpaw Village. Is a good one to work on while farming/grinding the furbolgs there trying to increase your Rep with Timbermaw Hold.
