Description

There's never a shortage of empty bellies here in Thelsamar, kids running in and out, workers from the excavation coming in after a hard day's work. We're famous for our blood sausages, I don't suppose you've ever tried them?

No? Well, around here you've got to work for your meals, and don't think just because you're a fancy <class>, you'll be any exception.

I'll need bear meat, boar intestines for the casings, and spider ichor for spice. You get me some of those, and leave the cooking to Vidra!

if you go a little bit more north, to about 29,20 and hit up the Lv. 11 Forest Lurkers, the drop rate is a lot better.

all 3 can be found just north of the village 35,35 with good drop rates. lv. 10-11 boars and spiders and lv. 11-12 bears can be found... kill the lower lv. if you're having trouble, drop is still good.

Does anyone know how to get this quest? Do you have to have your Cooking to a certain level? I have this on one toon, but I can't get it on the other.

Found plenty of spiders and bears here. Found a small amount of boars and larger amount of spiders there.

The drop rate for the Boar Intestines seems very, very low. One of my alts found that the boars in Westfall dropped this item at a much higher rate, and mailed some to the alt with the quest.

I just completed the quest and she talked to me, level 12 NE Hunter / just friendly with the dwarves and cooking is only 24..

Bears to the South
Spiders to the West
Boars to the North

Lvl 40/41 Alliance NE druid/Dwarf warlock, both 67 in cooking..neither of us could get this quest & I don't see any prerequisites. Ended up buying the recipe in Stormwind, only to use up the ingredients I got to use for the quest.

Perhaps they dropped the quest because the drop rates on the critters themselves in Loch Modan were pretty slim.

Lesson learned: see if the quest giver will talk to you first before spending time fulfilling the requirements in advance.

I found the boar intestines very hard to gather, I killed about 20 boars now and no intestines yet. They're very easy to get in lakeshire though.

For what it's worth, after killing 20 or so lower level boars on the western side, I found crossing the loch and killing the elder mountain boars (Lvl 16-17) a good option.

Takes a little extra time but I got all three intestines in under 10 kills. Also remember to save them if you've come from killing boars in Westfall (unlike me).

the drop rates for the boar intestines are around 32% while the bear meat is 39% and the spider ichor is 35%. So good luck!

Whilst the wowhead droprates probably differ, the drop rate off about (lol, an hour... ) whilst doing the kobold quest Rat Catcher, which also has a rubbish drop rate.. one my mobinfo shows

Boar Intestines (Mountain Boar) 33%
Spider Ichor (Forest Lurker) 40%
Bear Meat (Elder Black Bear) 38%

Also ended up killing other mob types such as bears etc, got no drop from those.

I got the spider parts and bear parts within 10 minutes and dinged while doing that. i spent the next hour getting the boar parts, and in the process gained 75% of the next level.
