You recall Jalinda talking about Pyron guarding the quarry. Perhaps you should search there?

Description

The last five of my mages that went snooping around in Blackrock Mountain came back extra crispy with a permanent orange gnomefro - or worse.

<Jalinda picks up some ashes from the ground and releases them into the air.>

One nasty bugger in particular, Overmaster Pyron, seems to be causing quite a bit of trouble. We need that elemental terminated so that our expedition crew can make its way into Blackrock Depths!

He guards the entrance at the Blackrock Quarry.

Overmaster Pyron can be found directly in fornt of the entrance to Blackrock Depths(BRD) in Blackrock Mountain.&nbsp Go in the front door and take a left - you will see a long chain running down to the central structure.&nbsp Run down the chain - through the tomb - down another chain - and you will be in the area before BRD entrance.&nbsp There will be 49 and 50 elites there guarding the entrance.&nbsp Pyron roams the hall before the entrance - he is a 52 elite.&nbsp

One thing this quest fails to mention which part of the mountain or entrance. Folks its at the BRD entrance. You will find Pyron walking along against the walls and across to the other side.
Previous post was right..He hits real hard..Might want to try Fire resistance potion as well.

Level 52 elite fire elemental that spawns right next to the instance entrance.&nbsp Hits for a ton so bring a friend, wasn't able to solo at 57 (hunter).

Had -no- trouble soloing this guy. It's just a matter of getting your fire resistance up high enough. 'course, unless it's around 300 and you have 6K health, you'll also need a healer. I don't have either, but hey, I'm a paladin. We're immortal.

not your average lvl 52 elite. i (53 paladin) tried doing him with a 53 warrior, but monsiour pyron did 300 dmg on normal hits and 450 on his special fire nova attacks -.-

He's easily soloable as a 53 Frost mage with a little ingenuity; ended the fight at full health and half mana, didn't have to pot or gem at all.

At the start, throw up Ice Barrier and Fire Ward, summon your Elemental, and let the pet aggro. Stand as far back as possible, pop Icy Veins, and go to town on him until you pull aggro off the elemental. Keep nuking until your Fire Ward and Ice Barrier are both down, then Ice Block. Pyron will run back to the elemental; when he's far enough away, click off Ice Block and finish him off.

Same strategy works for pretty much every elite that's immune to snares for Frost mages, so keep it in mind once you get to Outland.

we finished this quest today on first try.
no fire potions, zero fire resistance, 2 warriors 58 lvl, but we both used recklessness, we didnt even split the aggro, i got the whole aggro (with a major healing potion ofcourse :p), bam, dead

I'm sure the Overmaster Pyron was there for most of you guys, but you didn't see it because it was on the side of the room on some kind of fire heater and it camoflauges well.

he does only magical dmg, hence armor doesn't decrease dmg done to u. Only reistance can lower the ammount u take.

Finally I was able to take him down with a pet with 120 FR. Still it was a pain, tried several times. I used a mana pot to have enough mana to keep the pet healed. When Pyron runs out of mana, things are easier :)

I just solo'd pyron as a 57 warlock and felguard, buffed pet with strength, then kept pet healed inbetween topping up DOT's - still not easy but possible

Solo'd as a 56 Rogue using Volcanic Set, Greater Fire Protection Potion (taken early so potion isn't on cooldown), and a Major Healing Potion. Also used Evasion, Adrenaline Rush, and Blade Flurry cooldowns. Was never able to do it on most my other chars due to them not having enough FR and his immunity to snares and stuns.

No Fire elemental can be considered "normal" for their level, eiltes especially so. They hit HARD and a 56 elite (Blazerunner in Un'Goro) completely destroyed my 60 Druid.

Dont solo this guy, lvl 52, unless you have fire emblem and a good healer try staying away.

I tried to kill him me lvl 55 druid and a lvl 48 paladin, not even close. Im coming back with my druid friend, we make a pretty cool elite killing team, we farmed 2 devilsaur gauntlets at lvl 53 and 2 devilsaur leggings at lvl 54 (thats 44 of them), also is a feral druid and has blachard stout (+10 fire res i think) and fire emblem (+15 fire resist, plus the use that raises +50).

Go into Blackrock Mountain in to the big chamber with the rock suspended by chains over a pool of lava. Run along the chain to the rock in the middle then down through the buildings on it then out and along the lower chain in the bottom to get to the quarry. Once there follow the path until you come to the area called "The masonry" Pyron is on the metal floor area! Good Luck he's quite tough!

I tried it at lvl 57 (Warrior) and I still can't overcome him with 40 fire resistance, stoneskin potion and greater fire resistance potion and scroll of strength IV, what is actually needed to overcome his fire attack? how much resistance is needed to be comfy to defeat him?
