Don't be "scared" that you need 50 of these.

The mobs can drop up to 10 some times, very quick quest to do!

The Pillar of Ash is indeed the best place with the smallest pulls to grind the orcs out.

My wife and I just did this quest and tried the worgs in the SE near the dragonkin. Every once in a GREAT while we got a couple, but got 50 each in just a few minutes on the orcs near the Pillar of Ash area.

Not sure why, but the drop rate for me has been absolutely abysmal. I must have killed around 12 before my first drop of 8 medallions.

Easy to confuse as he wanted ogres first... but yeah these guys are west along the road and are called Blackrock ___ - some are lvl 54, some 55, etc.&nbsp Most of the ones I killed were 'linked' so that I was usually fighting at least 2 of them at a time.

And yes they drop quite a few at a time - matter of fact I ended up with 7 extra. :P

I got all 50 of the Medallions from the Various Worgs in the Burning Steppes. It takes about 20 of em to get 50. Not too shabby if you ask me. (54 warrior)

As from my experience, the caster mobs drops these, and the best place to farm them is inside Altar of Storms with those 5 or 6 Blackrock Warlocks. They are all together in a circle but not linked so you should be able to kill them easy.

Easy solo as a 52 BM hunter (and I'm sure it's possible as low as 50 as a BM hunter).

There's a cluster of camps around 50,53 that's perfect for the quest. It has plenty of Orcs with a decent drop-rate.

For those of you without coords: Follow the road west. Along the road, around halfway through the zone, you'll see a statue of an armored Orc holding out his sword to your left. Turn left there and you should be in the middle of the cluster of Orc camps.

I just finished this quest (3 Dec 2007) and for me the only consistent drops came from those mobs inside of the pillboxes scattered around the area near Gor'tesh (40, 55)

all u have to do is kill something tahts an NPC orc and they drop the medalians in 10s and 9s

Just completed, worgs dropped about 20 of em.&nbsp Very easy to complete and also ended up with 8 extras.&nbsp Great XP too.&nbsp 5100 for a quest that may have taken 20 minutes to complete.

I did this quest with my level 52 hunter. I got some of the medallions from an Blackrock Ogre. The rest i got from Ember Worgs. The level 51/52 wolfs that walk around in the burning steppes. They are easy to kill and drop about 4 to 12 medallions. Not everytime, but the drop rate isn't that bad. Because of the bad respawn of these creatures, it took me a little while.

Attacked the Worgs and got 50 easy. 1st one gave 10! Next ones gave 5 and 3 each. Near the end (in SE corner beside where the bots are killing Dragonspawns) I killed one and it dropped a Six Demon Bag! I couldn't believe it!!

I found the Blackrock Slayers & Soldiers were dropping 5-10 each kill consistently! In the Pillars of Ash (44,55).&nbsp I was getting nothing from the worgs, tho.

They drop off the Blackrock Orcs and the Worgs there...its kindof random so you won't always get the drops, but they WILL drop be patient and harness the power of EXP! while you kill em

Got all of mine from worgs (lower level, easier to farm).&nbsp The drop rate is not great -- tonight after the 1.9.3 patch I thought for a bit that they'd changed it and worgs no longer dropped them, because I killed 6 or 7 with no drops at all.&nbsp But then they started again and I got the rest of mine.

I love this guy.&nbsp He's completely and totally insane.&nbsp Love him.

I never got any off worgs, and only every third or fourth orc would drop them, but when they did drop, it was in groups of 3 - 10! I probably killed about 20-25 orcs total to get what I need (actually got 6 more than I needed, they stack up to 50).
All Burning Steppes orcs seem to have a chance to drop the medallions and the number is apparently random.

They drop off the mobs at Pillar of Ash, and also any of the worgs. It'll be faster just to go to the Pillar of Ash as there are both orcs and worgs that drop Medallions. (49, 55) if you need Coords. The worgs are usually in the huts/stables.

In my experience, the worgs dropped them more.

Took me around 20 kills.

Don't let the big number scare you off. Blackrock orcs, found to the SW of Dreadmaul Rock, drop these about one in three times, and in quantity (3-9 per drop for me). Watch out for adds and this one goes quickly.

I killed some ember worgs while me and a group were working on the elite dragons. The Worgs dropped them, first I think I got 11 out of one, then 6 from one. I didnt finish this quest yet because I like the description of it. It cracks me up everytime I read it.

Soloed as a lvl 54 beast mastery hunter. For you who doesnt use cordaddons, check in the western and the middle parts of the "Pillar of ash"-area, good droprate.
