You've got to help me, <name>! My friend, Ringo left earlier to explore the volcano to the south of here, and he has been gone way too long. I am really worried about him.

Ringo can be found initially in a small cave on Fire Plume Ridge at location 51, 50 to complete the quest to "find" him. Once you find him, he'll give you a new quest "A Little Help From My Friends" and you escort him back to Marshal's Refuge.

The escort part isn't tough because you lead Ringo, and so you can avoid mobs on your walk back (and you have like 25 minutes to do it.) You have a little canteen of water in your inventory that you were given from Spraggle when you were sent out to find Ringo, called "Spraggle's Canteen"- watch for Ringo to say things like "Ugghhh" or "I'm feeling faint" ... those are indications that he is about to faint, and will need to be revived with the water from the little canteen in order to proceed.

I put the canteen in an empty slot in my hotbar for the duration of this quest. I kept Ringo targeted when he faints, you lose him as a target, so even if I missed his cues like "uggh ... the heat, it's getting to me...", as soon as I noticed I'd lost him as a target I knew I needed to revive him. Simply click the canteen in order to give him some water and revive him.

Easy as pie :)

edit: It's a year and a half later or so, and I thought I'd add a few notes, seeing as how I'm doing this now on my Horde character. First of all, thanks for the + rates :) I'm glad my comments have helped! Second, thank you for clarifying that he is in the cave on the map and NOT on the top level of Fire Plume Ridge, StringAnomaly :) Also, thirdly, thank you for pointing out that you don't have to have Ringo targeted for the canteen to work, Cinosh! I only had him targeted because when he faints, you lose him as a target and so it sometimes helps you notice when he faints in case you miss his spoken cues :) I've edited the text a little to make that clearer. I appreciate it!

And now, my edits... the exact coordinates of the south eastern slope on Fire Plume Ridge where I went up are 55.26, 49.86. If you go up the SE slope there, you'll encounter one Scorching Elemental mob between you and the cave. Once up the slope at 54, 50 you can easily see the mouth of the cave where you'll find Ringo. Grab him and head back down the same way you came up!

Good luck!

Another pop culture reference by Blizzard.

Ringo was the drummer of the Beatles, and "Little Help from my Friends" is a Beatles song off the album Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Rock on :)

This quest works fine, and it's very easy if you are level 50+. When getting to the cave (52,50) you will see Fire Elementals (not elites) and they hit hard, both range (some of them-can't remember type) and melee, but nothing scary: 150+hp strikes,&nbsp They do not respawn too quickly either.&nbsp

If you get there and he is not there, it is possible that someone is on the quest. If you abandon the quest (for whatever reason) destroy the canteen to be certain to get it again. There was a bug in the quest (check earlier posts) and not sure if completely fixed.

When escorting little man, he will faint a couple times. Here's what I noticed: He faints about 1 second before the canteen cooldown, so make sure that you are far from potential mobs. I guess he will keep fainting until you get there, but I never tested it. As long as you be careful to go between mobs, the quest should take about 5-10 min (depending on your elusive path back...lol) Took me 7 minutes, nice XP too!

Hope this helps!
Good Luck and Happy Hunting! :)

This was so easy. It is a two part quest first part is in Marshals Refuge its called Lost! The dude is in the east cave on the fire mountain. Talk to him to complete first part get like 2800 exp then talk to him again and get the leading quest. Put the canteen in your action bar and lead him along the east side of the mountain accross the river north up to marshals refuge to the same person who gave u the lost quest. He will faint 3-5 times just use the canteen on him when he falls. Didn't get into one single fight on the way and got 5650 and a choice of three items. 51 warlock Desrasputen

Unlike other escort quests, he follows you and you can choose your route to minimize fights.&nbsp Its easy because he doesn't automatically find 2-3 guys for you to fight.&nbsp But he doesn't seem to help out in fights, either.

Like other escort quests multiple people can do this one simultaneously as long as you are all on the same leg of the quest.&nbsp Make sure you have an inventory space available before you start the quest, Ringo will give you water to revive him, then lead him back to the camp.&nbsp If you fail the quest, make sure to abandon it and delete the water bottle.&nbsp You will have to wait for the quest to reset but you can go back and get it again.

One poster suggested this could be done at lvl 40. This just isnt so. Your agro zone at lvl 50 is too large to squeeze between the COUNTLESS lv 54-56 fire elementals surrounding the entire ridge. If you have stealth then yes, its probably very easy to slip in and out at lvl 50. 40 though? Even stealthed they would detect you I think. If your thinking of soloing at 52 or lower without stealth you might as well just punch yourself in the beanbag 2, 3, or possibly 4 times, cuz I am willing to bet the pain in your groinal region wont last nearly as long as the amount of time it would take you to solo this quest. "easiest red quest ever"? ...
Neigh, the dino bone quest was pretty tame in comparison at lvl 49 even though you have to take the terror run to get to the dino bones.
Not trying to pick everyone apart here, just saying the majority or the posts here are VERY misleading. Maybe this is due to a patch or somthing and theres more elementals there now than there was before.

On the map, you will see two caves on the volcano. Ringo can be found in the cave to the right.

You will see a path marked by torches zig-zagging up the hill to the cave.

The next part is an escort quest.

Did this as lvl 50 Marks Hunter, extremly easy. I also paired it up with "Beware of Pterrordax." Came out of Marshal's Refuge, went west and killed the Frenzied, headed south east to kill regular Pterrordax, and did this escort on the way back to turn in the quest. The path to get to his cave is at 56,51, on the east side of the mountain. Then, once you're escorting him, head towards the northern mountains, towards a point halfway between Marshal's Refuge and Fungal Rock (to avoid the Tar Lords and such.) Head west, hugging the side of the mountain till you get to Marshal's Refuge. Easy 13k-14k xp right there.

Oh, and I saw some people saying that they had trouble finding Ringo when he fainted, because of the tall grass. What worked for me (besides Track Humanoids, haha), was turning the camera so it was pointing straight at the ground and backtracking your steps.

Good luck!
