First of all you must kill the 6 Murloc Warriors and Hunters that are by the town with 3 huts.

That spawns 3 lv 13 Coastrunners.

Take them out to spawn 2 lv 15 Warriors.

Take them out to spawn Murkdeep (lv 19) and a Warrior (lv 15).

My alt, being a rogue, sapped Murkdeep and murdered the Warrior. I healed myself with a bandage in time for Murkdeep to come to his senses. A Gouge, Backstab, Sinister Strike, and an Eviscerate later Murkdeep was dead.

Find the the 3 cane huts down the beach, head south passed the washed up monsters.

Stand on the hill over looking the huys and attack from there. This helps spot him coming from the sea and helps targeting.

You have to kill everyone at the 3 huts. Then 2 little weak murlocs appear in the hut... kill them 2, then in about 10 secs 2 lvl 15 warriors will pop up in the hut. Now get rdy, kill them both and then Murkdeep will come out of the water just like the other guys said. Murkdeep will never spawn himself u hav to kill his murlocs first many times.

Spent some time analyzing this last night.

Steps in detail:

Find the camp - it is the only one with huts in Darkshore.
Clear all mob spawn.
**Stand near the camp fire in the middle** - For those people who have repeatedly cleared the camp, this step is what you were missing.
Clear adds from water.
Clear adds from water again.
Take Murkdeep's life.
Profit.

Also note that the camp itself repops pretty fast so be quick.

[Shaman 15]

For those of you that do not know, advice from hunters should only be tried by hunters (and maybe warlocks). For a very long time now, hunters have been known as the "solo class" because they really have two players: the hunter and a meat shield (pet).

Note This!! - Any time a hunter says it can be done and you are not a hunter, it is a totaly different game.

This said, I did complete the quest as a level 15 Shaman. Here's how..

As said above, pulling the mobs in singles or smaller groups is correct. The problem is when facing Murkdeep. Several quests in the game will require you to kill a "named" NPC and he/she will almost always have "bodyguards". This one is no exception. A hunter above states "easy to solo lvl 12hunter LOL kiting ftw :D" and he's full of it. Post the video friend. I would bet he completed the quest in the same way or very similar to the other hunters, sending in pet on a few pulled mobs and letting his "meat shield" take the damage. Kiting is not easy and with the new daze mechanics, I would bet all my gold that he did not "kite" the mobs (probably doesen't know what kiting is).

If you have any ranged abilities, start off with those on Murkdeep. I used Lightning after placing a Stoneclaw totem about half way in my cast range. Draenei have a racial HoT (heal over time) that I used after a nice big Nuke on the Murkdeep and I plop a Fire Nova and after plop a Flamtoung. At this point I was at a bit more than half health, my HoT was gone and the bodyguards were about to rush me. I self heal to fill my bar.

Murkdeep is now at 1/4th health, but it's not over yet. I've not done any damage to the guards, so new totems would be toast and Claw tot is on cooldown. I don't have much mana, so I Flame shock, recharge my shield and plop a Stoneskin. The entire time I'm backing up to make distance between me and the guards, I had to be careful not to evade the mobs (another reason kiting is hard here), but being on the brink of evading mobs can be a good thing. A final Earth Shock kills Murkdeep, I now have only 14% health and the guards are wicked pissed. I drop my Earthbind and turn-tail, running further away from the mobs origional spawn point. Sure enough, they evade.

I run up to the corpse of Murkdeep, grab my loot and eat/drink atop his fallen body. Success!

Good Luck and Death to Murkdeep!

I found him north of the washed up sea creatures. (closer to astranaar than the sea creatures)

Lvl to do it -
This quest was very easily soloed at lvl 18 by me a hunter my pet is lvl 18 too. this quest is probaly doable at earlier levels and by all classes. unless you have a pet or a friend i sggest minimum lvl 17, 16 if u have good gear.

How to do it-
Head down south on the shore from auberdine and at 36,78 you will find 3 murloc huts gaurded by some murlocs. Clear this camp by single pulls, and as soon as you clear the camp, back away from it, 3 lvl 14 or so murlocs will come out of the water and guard the camp. kill these easily and back up out of the camp and heal/drink whatever u wanna do, then the booss should come out of the water&nbsp kill him and your done easy as pie

Some people don't seem to understand how to get Murkdeep to come out. Here is the process I follow when doing the quest that seems to work 100% of the time I do it, so it should work for you.

1) First, clear the camp at 36,70. The camp is occupied by lvl 13-15 Murlocs so it should be fairly easy. Be sure to take notice of the 3 murlocs in the water around the Beached Sea Creature. *The camp must be completely cleared before proceeding*

2) Now you need to clear the 2nd camp at 35,74. After successfully clearing it, 3 Murloc Coastrunners will run out of the ocean but they won't attack you unless you are right in the middle of the camp (So if you are low on mana/health back away and rest). Now kill the Coastrunners. After they are dead 2 Murloc Hunters will run out, clear them out now as well. After the Hunters are dead, Murkdeep (lvl 19 non-elite) will run out with a hunter with him.

Hope this helps some people. Just did the quest myself with a lvl 21 Priest so it was a snap.

Soloed as a lvl 18 druid. Very easy. Murkdeeps spawn when you kill 3 groups of murlocs in 36.76. First there are hunters and warriors murlocs then 3 coastrunner on very low lvl then a small group of hunter or something. After that murkdeep spawn with one guard.

I have soloed this quest every time I've done it, most recently with a level 19 warrior. I've also done it around the same level with a druid and mage. I didn't pay attention to my first two characters, but with the warrior I found that the above statements seemed to apply to my event. I cleared the camp, then three coastrunners popped (level 13 I think they were). I fought them off then two level 16 greymist warriors came out killed them then Murkdeep spawned with a level 16 greymist hunter attached.&nbsp As long as you rest between fights, it's a sinch.

To confirm a previous observation, you need to get fairly close to the camp to trigger the script, it seems.

I died once whilst trying to kill Murkdeep came back, and he'd despawned.&nbsp So I cleared the camp from a distance, and - nothing just sat around drumming my fingers for a few minutes.&nbsp It wasn't until another player ran into the camp that the waves of Murlock restarted, ending in Murkdeep.

If you save this until level 20 as a druid, it can be a snap. Once Murkdeep spawns, root the additional murloc that accompanies him, then run as far as you can get before he leashes - this will ensure that you will have enough time to kill Murkdeep before entangling roots releases and you have another add to deal with. If you can put a dot up on Murkdeep (Moonfire, etc), it will be helpful since it will have a chance to kill him while he flees so you don't have to deal with two mobs if he decided to run back while you are engaged with the rooted one. I used kitty form to kill him, but you can probably also use bear or humanoid form just as well. Good luck =)

Be very careful with this quest. I tried it at lvl 19 with my lvl 17 pet and died at least 4 times. This is an extremly hard one. Oh and you have to kill the first spawns, then more will run out of the water, kill those, and then some more will run out with Murkdeep. Have fun

Read Pekky's comment with some amusement. My single biggest complaint (and one of only a few) about the quests is that Blizzard chooses (that's right, they've discussed it at length, and even explained their choice in an email to me) NOT to separately designate solo quests from group quests, except in a few specific cases. Discovering which quest is soloable and which can only be done by a group (at the appropriate level) is part of the fun. Don't want those Spirit Healers to get too lonely!

I can see their point to a certain extent: they want us to ask other players about the quests and maybe get a little assistance.

Of course you could always go to Anonymous....

Died twice going after Murkdeep. Kept going back to my corpse. Third time, Murkdeep was hanging out near the water by himself. Me and my pet took him out without any of the other greymist's coming after us.

I guess the best strategy to soloing this is hangout and wait from him to wander off.

But then i decided to do the quest, got the coords for the hut (36,78) and went there. I didnt even had to kill any of the creatures. I aimed at the sea and murkdeep was there with his friends. - Cleared the area around the buildings without walking near the bonfire.
- Walked near bonfire and 3 coastrunners (lvl 13) spawned running in from the water, killed them.
2 warriors (lvl 15 I think, can't remember) spawned. I managed to pull only one and when he died Murkdeep + another warrior spawned. Killed Murkdeep and ran away :)

-2 lvl 12 Druids- Res and Bal

Ok while we couldn't take Murkdeep alone our 1st try we did manage to spawn him without dying which was mostly due to respawn within the camp. Got him on the 2nd time around though.

Simple enough if you take your time and have good players. :)

The person above has most of it correct.

Kill off all of the murloc in that 1st camp. After its completely clear three coast runners come from the water, then two warriors, followed by Murkdeep with a hunter bodyguard.

PS. If you see Murkdeep spawned and you didnt do it... dont kill him.... or atleast ask in general if someone is trying. I was watching the camp while the other druid returned from the graveyard and a lingering 21 Shaman and 70 Mage killed him without a word. Thankfully the mage made up for it afterwards by helping us spawn him again though.

After the first time you have "cleanised" the little village of its residents, you must approach the village's bonfire, and a couple of tiderunnders will "spawn" out of the ocean to check on the village's situation. Kill them go near the bonfire again, and a new set of "task force"(level 14-15 warriors) will appear to check on the village. After killing this set wait for a bit to see if Murkdeep appears. If it doesn't go near the bonfire, and quickly retreat, and Murkdeep will appear with his body guard(I faced a level 17 Greymist Hunter). You know the rest.

I solo'd this as a 17 Druid. Not impossible by any means, but pretty hard.

At (36,77) I started at the north end of the camp and killed a couple of the 17's at that end of the camp. You don't have to empty the camp, but you do have to kill some of them.

Then a group of about 3 lvl 12's and a 16 appeared in the center. What I did was stand far away, blast one of the weak ones as fast as i could until it died, then ran away before the rest of the group killed me. Then go back and repeat against the smaller group.

When that group dies, another group of about 3 16-17's appear. I did the same thing. stand far away, blast one as fast as i could until it died, then ran away. Repeat until that group is dead.

Then Murkdeep appears with a bodyguard. Did the same thing to his bodyguard, then came back and got Murkdeep.

If you want to be on the safeside, bring a potion or two, and some food/drink always helps.

In case anyone was wondering, I didn't really have to deal with any of the original guys respawning (possibly only 1). After all i didn't wipe out the whole camp or anything. This whole thing probably took about 10 minutes. (I know it sounds longer, but it's not that bad.)

I did this quest as a lvl. 18 Hunter. When I got to the village, I was the only character there. I couldn't see Murkdeep, so I killed just 2 Murlocs, then ran along the shore - I just happened to catch a glimpse of something in the water... and there he was! Sitting just under the surface just off-shore! Alone! As soon as I attacked him, a Murloc Hunter appeared, but my pet took the bodyguard down and I took Murkdeep down easily. So before you set about wiping out the village, just check that the little bugger isn't sitting in the water all along!
