Syndicate Assassins

Kill 12 Syndicate Footpads and 8 Syndicate Thieves, then return to Magistrate Henry Maleb in Southshore.

Description

I am the new magistrate of Southshore, recently assigned after the assassination of the previous magistrate. The assassins were never found, but through our investigations we're almost certain they were hired by the Syndicate - a group of thieves led by villainous nobles of the now fallen kingdom of Alterac.

The Syndicate has a camps in Sofera's Naze and Corahn's Dagger, north and west of the Horde-occupied Tarren Mill. Slay the Syndicate members you find in these camps.

Make sure to read the Syndicate documents lying on the table in the middle of the little camp at Sofera's Naze. They will lead to the quest chains Encrypted Letter (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=511) and Foreboding Plans (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=510).

To find the place take the road north past Tarrn Mill (watch for the horde guarsd). As you enter Alterac mountains the road looks like it passes through a heavily-guarded barricade. At that point, turn east and you will see a spur jutting out SE from the mountains. Go to the spur, the syndicate has a camp there.

The footpads are quick and easy kills. The thieves are harder (level 34-35). You will want to pull mobs away from the camp are you are liable to get adds. In particular, there is a wizard (mage) in the middle of the camp who will start blasting away if you get too close. If he decides to throw in a shot or two when you are in the middle of something and not expecting it, things can get ugly fast.

Location Coords Confirmed. Quite easy to do for me as a level 36 Warlock. The papers are indeed well marked with a huge yellow "dot" and also they are marked on the minimap.

I just tried soloing it at 29 with my priest, and it's really tough. The Footpads I managed to get through at a slow pace, but the Thieves resisted so much that I couldn't keep up with their damage and consistently ran out of mana. I figured given my level it would take full mana for each one, but even that has turned out to not be enough.

I'll come back at 30 to get my last 7 Thieves. I figure with the new abilities at 30, plus the level, I should be able to keep up enough to defeat them.

The reward seems quite nice. Not a blue or anything, but still a good reward.

Only other thing to add is that I was getting 220+ xp per kill, but it was slow going, plus deaths on the Thieves.

folk that have posted beneath me say 47,79. THat is correct, but it comes under alterac, not hillsbrad.

There are two camps you can complete this quest in. One is in Alterac near Stormpike & the Mountian Lion quest (Costly Menace) on a plateau called Corrahn's Dagger @ 47, 89 (these are Alterac coords). This camp is the smaller one and you will have to wait for respawns in order to complete the quest, but very easy to solo.

The second camp is east of the road to Alterac & north of Tarren Mill, in a place called Sofera's Naze, 58,71 (Alterac coords). To get there, look for a large log on the west side of the road (51,67)just as you cross into Alterac (but before the snow). Turn east and follow the incline along side the hill, the camp should be at the top. I suggest going to this camp for the quest as there are two quests available on the table between the tents. These two quests are Encrypted Letter & Foreboding Plans.

I found a camp at 58,64 , to find it you run up the road past tarren mill (watch out for the guards) into alterac where the ogre's are ... go east on a little road ... you will find a farm looking area that has syndicate spy's and wizzards ... if you look to the right of that farm area you will find a moutain range ... run over the top of the mountain to your right after you past the farm and follow the mountains south ... you will see the horde WSG camp ... keep running past it up the hill you will see and there are your syndicates

I was able to complete this quest (it was a little tough) as a level 33 Hunter as Beast Master. The characters re-spawn VERY fast. Plus, they have a large than usual area of sensitivity. They "spotted" me earlier than most other quest characters that were not elite.
