Description

The Winterfall are no longer a threat to me, but if you still want to find out what was driving the furbolg to create and consume this strange firewater, I think you should seek out Kelek Skykeeper.

He is part of a group known as the Emerald Circle, druids that are committed to their work in Felwood, healing the land from the corruption.

Kelek has much experience with the furbolgs in Felwood, and may be able to tell you more about the log.

Turn in the book at the Emerald Sanctuary. After a period of time, you'll get a message in the mail where Kelek provides you with the transation of the book. (https://classicdb.ch/?item=13158)

After you do this quest you get a book in the mail. It doesn't seem to be for anything though.

The prereq quest is The Final Piece, given by the log that drops from the High Chief: http://classicdb.ch/?quest=5123

For 59 twinks wanting a new patch 2.3 trinket, killing the chief gives you 1360 xp (incl. rested bonus), turning in The Final Piece is 4650, and this quest for a 59 rewards 9300: total of 15310 xp. You avoid any extra xp by not killing the chief's shaman friend (which is trivial now) and by not turning in the High Chief Winterfall quest.

What happens after you turn in the log to Kelek Skykeeper? All I got from him was "give me some time, and I'll get back to you." That was this afternoon, maybe 8 hours ago. I've been back to him twice, and kept checking my mail - nothing.

Ok, yesterday I did the quest and today I have a message in my mail from Kelek with the book translated.

The high chief thinks everyone is an enimie and that he must protect his tribe and land creating more firewater.

You do not need the book to turn in the quest.. it's trash and SAFE to delete the book (mail)

I just ran to Southern Felwood to complete a quest that started in Winterspring. I turn the book in to a Darnassian Night Elf, and see a message telling me that reputation has increased with Everlook I also get a green "rep bling"... but when I open my character's Reputation Tab, my Booty Bay rep has just moved from Friendly to honored!

Whazzup with that? Are Everlook and Booty Bay rep linked? And if so, did my reputation with Gadgetzan and Ratchet just go up too? Wish I had looked at the before/after numbers!

I have also gotten to the end of this quest where you receive the translated journal in the mail from Kelek. But when you return to him after receiving the translated journal he does nothing. Out of curiosity I also tried collecting 10 firewater from drops to see if this would trigger him but to no avail. Anyone else figure out how to continue this if possible? My guess is that is it broken or unfinished at this time.

It may have something to do with your faction with the Timbermaw Hold.
Im only Neutral yet, but some quest might turn up when your faction is higher.

no new Quest from Timbermaw at 58 and Friendly, but I'll be Honored soon, and since farming Furbolgs is fun and gives lots of runecloth, I may reach Revered soon, too :P Will check Timbermaw after each "levelup". Though the fact that Anonymous does not list any quests coming from Kernda is discouraging... then again, he's actually involved in the totem quests, and Anonymous does not list them either.

Well, yes, it's nice of Blizzard to include these story quests, enjoyed the furbolgs quests a lot, but Kelek says to come back to him later, so...

I don't think there is a follow-up nor is there one planned. The book is just some background information on why the Winterfall Furbolgs went mad, nothing more. It speaks in favour of Blizzard to include such little things.

Just completed this quest, turned in the book at Coords (51,81) to Kelek Skykeeper and recieved 6400 exp at level 58. Very easy quest and extremely easy exp if you need it.

IMHO it's just a tip that you can get your hands on Winterfall Firewater from these mobs. It increases your attack power by 35 along with your size for 20 minutes. I've looted several by attacking them just as they spawn. (Item #12820)

51,81.... Was looking for this in Winterspring and dang if I didn't find a rare spawn there (61 Elite) and I was only a 59 warrior At the tunnel that would lead to Hyla land when Blizz puts in a map for that area.

Upon some further investigation it looks like you have to be on the quest to kill this guy to get the Log to drop, and this is the end of a chain. Tried killing him without being on the quest but no Log dropped. This is a problem for 59 twinks who haven't done the chain previously.

Have I missed something?
