That caravan really is just north of the goblin. It's almost within sight of him. Clear out all the centaur near the cage, as well as the patrolling cloud serpent and coyote.

The panther is a level 30 elite. Two players at level 28 or better should own this guy. At level 30, several classes can solo him with a good bit of finesse.

If you are coming from The Barrens, take the Right elevator of the Great Lift.&nbsp Once you are down, go down the wooden ramp and hug the Right wall of Thousand Needles.&nbsp This will take you directly to the encampment with the panther cage.

If you are coming from the Freewind Post area, just go to the Great Lift and once there, hug the right wall of Thousand Needles and you will soon be at the encampment with the panther cage.&nbsp Clear the mobs around the cage and then dispatch the little kitty.

Peace.

I'm not sure if it was because I did this quest as a 70, but it did not yield reputation with Thunder Bluff (or anyone, for that matter).

The target mob (30 elite) is fairly easy once you realize that he is EXTREMELY slow. Just hit Aspect of the Cheetah and run ahead of him, letting your pet and serpent sting do all the work. Concussive shot will even buy you a few seconds of auto-shot if you like, though I didn't bother with it since I missed too much. I was near Freewind Post when I finally killed him, but hey :) It worked!

For those who can't find it, it's pretty much due north of Whitereach Post, the camp where you got the quest.

quest is currently bugged, the cage will open, but you cannot fight the panther, it's considered friendly. It has to be the friendliest "Enraged Panther" ever.

Clearing the monsters around him was very easy, taking a couple minutes at tops.

However, my level 29 priest had a lot of trouble dealing with the panther himself. The panther hits very hard on a cloth-wearer, took down my shield in just a few hits and then proceeded to take off huge chunks of my lifebar, all the while interrupting my casting. I tried twice solo, getting him down to about 10% health each time.

After a while, I just gave up and got a nearby 28 rogue to help out. With the two of us, the fight was easy as pie, and we received a good 3000+ experience and a ring that vendors for 80 silver.

Summary: Unless you are significantly higher than 30, or can tank fairly well (shamans, warriors), bring a friend along to help out, and this'll be a quick experience boost.

31 Rogue solo'ed Panther.&nbsp When I arrived at the location the Panther was already out of the cage.&nbsp He hits pretty hard when he was able to land (about 200+ dmg each hit).&nbsp I was able to keep him in check by using kidney shot and was able to remove most of his armor.&nbsp I had about 300 hp left after all was said and done.

I followed solo's advice, as a lvl 30 warlock. This worked like a charm. If you are good in using life tap and you have 2/2 grim reach that helps. I didn' use voidwalker it would be intersting to see if he could draw agro. the imps extra health from blood pact was a nice bonus.

Extremely close fight. Heres what I did to win solo as a 31 Rogue.

I applied Deadly poison to my offhand dagger, and instant poison to my onhand Zealot Blade. Open the cage and immediately stealth, you should be able to get it off before he engages you. You can try opening with ambush, he evaded my ambush twice so I went with cheap shot from the front.

After cheap shot spam sinister strike and pop a thistle tea when you're at exactly 0 Energy. By this time you should have 5 combo points. Use dodge if you haven't already, he hit me for around 100 a hit. Use eviscerate and continue spamming sinister strike.

Important: DO NOT VANISH. He'll evade bug. Bring a big health pot for the surefire win, I didn't have to use a health pot, but I'm certain I would have lost w/o my tea. This took me around 5 tries to get right/lucky.

Soloed as a level 30 enhancement specced shaman. Took me three tries though, was very dependant on Windfury proc. First two times I had no procs, third I had two procs, had to use a mana pot for it to work though. Not insanely hard really, but definitely a tough one. Make sure not to have centaurs spawn on you.

The centaurs here are easy to tear through. The Panther is another matter entirely. It is level 30 elite, but it is a tough elite. I tried to kill him twice at level 31-got my butt kicked bad the first time, and I almost pulled it off the second time with retaliation. If I had a greater healing potion I probably would have done it.

Solo'ed this as a lvl 28 Warlock.. Used the good'ol Voidwalker to tank what he could, got the curses on him. When he turns to run at you, Fear him and keep renewing cor, imo and curse of agony. You should also shadowbolt him every once in a while, sometimes it will brake the fear, sometimes it wont. I found out when i did it, that mostly the Fear will not be broken by damage. And if it does, just wait till he's in range again, and Fear again and renew curses. Was a fudging fierce fight, used one healthstone, but it's doable as a 28 Warlock at least ^^

The trick for hunters (maybe Warlocks too) is not to open the cage. Sick your beast on the tiger while it's still in the cage, then call it back, the panther will come out of the cage and you can start fighting for real. Hit it with concussive shot when it charges, wing clip if it reaches you, and keep running away so your pet keeps hurting it while it's not hurting either of you. As 29 hunter, it took about 2/3ds of my cat's health and very little of mine, and I suck at this game. :)

Cage is right across from the road from the quest giver, guarded by a small group of high-20s centaur.

The location of the cage and area is right from the camp turn around and go left down the path until the first offbranch to the right (22,25), in there there are some non-elite mobs and the cage too unlock, kill all the excess that are around lvl 28, and get ready then unlock the cage! the Panther is a lvl 30 Elite! I did this quest with a friend lvl 31 shaman, while i was a lvl 29 warrior, it was no problem! Good Luck!
