Verifying the Corruption

Seek out and destroy 2 Entropic Beasts and 2 Entropic Horrors while exploring Shatter Scar Vale. After checking to see if the craters there are still filled with corrupt fel water, return to Taronn Redfeather in Felwood.

Explore the craters in Shatter Scar Vale

Description

To the north, along the east of the road in what's called Shatter Scar Vale, is an area where infernals were called down during the last great war--the craters still scar the land, as do the infernals themselves.

I am curious about two things. First, are there still entropic elementals roaming the area? And second, are the craters still filled with the corrupt, fetid water that gathered there years ago? Will you help me and check, <name>? Be careful though, the infernals destroy anything in their path.

For the "exploring" portion of this quest, I completed inside the southern rim of the southernmost crater seen on the overhead map of felwood -- roughly half a cm above the two letter o's in Bloodvenom Falls on the map.

For those who use coord's -- 41,42

Note that although this quest is marked "Elite", it is quite doable without killing any of the elites that roam in Shatter Scar Vale.

The quest mobs are non-elite.

Defenitly not elite. You don't actually have to kill any of the elites and it is easy to avoid them. Easy quest nice xp.

Very easy quest. It wasn't at all hard to avoid the elites, so this quest doesn't require a group. In fact, the elites aren't too hard to take down, so you may even be able to solo it while killing elites.

I discovered the craters without even realizing it. Just go to the proper area to kill the elementals (42,41) and you should discover it with no problem.

The horrors and beasts have shared spawn points, so if you can't find one or the other, just keep killing and it'll eventually spawn.

It's easy to solo this.
I did it as a level 53 druid.
For exploring the craters just jump into one, and run along the road to pull and kill the mobs u need to.

As has been said, this quest is extraordinarily easy and probably doesn't deserve the "Elite" label. The reason it does have that label, however, is that there are a number of elite Infernals running around the area and they can ruin your day if you're not on the lookout for them. Hunters will have the easiest time.

Wow... took all but 3 minutes as a 54 priest, just look for Nip the Almighty and go north from him... the things you ahve to kill are only lvl 50-51. the only trouble i had was finding the second horror.

The quest is very simple and the coordinates given are accurate. I went with a friend simply because we had the same quest. The irritating this is you kill the first monster but it takes forever to find the second one and then you run into the guardians. Luckily I had my friend and we were able to kill both that were there, but the first set you need take forever to spawn.

Irritating quest, but the xp was good.

I'm a 54 Hunter, friend lvl 52 Warlock.

I just did this quest and i found out that these guys are immune to fire spells :(. Being a Fire mage i couldnt do to much damage to them with frostbolt and other things, had to use Frostbolt, Cone of Cold, and Arcane Missiles. But it was easy. You just have to avoid the big infernals and your good.

Pretty hard quest, the horrors are lvl 54 and the beasts are lvl 52-53, Plus there is a lvl 52 elite running around, only bout killed it at lvl 52 with recklessnss on my warrior. so watch out.
Co-Ords are 42, 40 have yet to find the cave.

it took me a while to find my way back to the quest giver but just kill the 2 monsters and walk in the crater, its north of that river.
P.S. to shadow priests like me who think they can kill infernals ( i barely kileld a 52 one) THEY ARE IMUNE TO FEAR

I didn't see any elemental elites in the area but, I did see one Rock Guardian elite (level 56, I believe) to watch out for.
As long as you avoid him (her?), the quest is no problem.

This quest is amazingly easy as a warlock. Curse of Shadow one of the elites, Enslave, and have fun. They do around 80dps, and they lasted the full 5 minutes for me, but I was done in 1minute. Spent the remaining 4 minutes playing with my new toy.

You turn the quest in at the Emerald Sanctuary. Just down the road from where you do the actual quest. If you look on your map, it should be there, otherwise you shouldn't have the quest to begin with.
