Breastplate of the Chromatic Flight

To forge the Breastplate of the Chromatic Flight, you will be required to bring the following items to Jeziba the 'Sculptor':

1 Chromatic Carapace.

10 Brilliant Chromatic Scales.

10 Blood of Heroes.

10 Frayed Abomination Stitchings.

Description

The forging of a powerful breastplate to protect against the unrelenting attacks of the chromatic flight is one built upon irony.

The scales of the very beasts we battle must be sewn to the pristine carapace of an elder chromatic drake or dragon. None are known to exist at this time and we should hope that none will ever exist.

Lastly, perhaps the most difficult of all components: the blood of heroes.

The Sculptor must ultimately forge this creation.

Information on the Chromatic Carapace

Presumed to exist.&nbsp Only a greater chromatic dragonkin or dragon could pocess such a carapace.

Information on the Chromatic Scale

Commonly found on the lesser chromatic flight: Whelps, Broodlings, lesser wyrmkin.

Information on the Blood of Heroes

Legend claims that in places of extreme conflict, across what is now known as the Plaguelands clean and holy springs may erupt from the ground.&nbsp The water from those springs has been named 'Blood of Heroes,' by artisans and commonfolk alike - in honor of those that fell in the war against the Scourge.

Information on the Frayed Abomination Stichings

The threads that holds together the abominations of Stratholme are highly sought after by artisan craftsmen:&nbsp Extremly resilient - nearly unbreakable.

Information on the Skin of Shadow

Used by the Barov family of the Scholomance as a mirror into the souls that they no longer possess.&nbsp A valuable keepsake.

The quest works like this. In upper blackrock spire (Raid Section). Behind the arena are two blackrock thugs on a ledge kill them and a broodling spawns named awbee. Thats the start of the quest from there you do some running around to Haleh ect just follow the quest line untill you get to the book in western plaguelands.

Chromatic Carapace = Gyth (Epic)
Only one i have ever seen drop is mine possible to come from general too maybe.

Flayed Ambomination Stitches = Stratholme stitches the ones just before Baron Rivendare. This is probably your biggest pain when doing the quest.

Brilliant Chromatic Scales = Upper blackrock spire off chromatic dragons. I got most of mine through the rend event but they drop by general too.

Blood of Heroes = Eastern/Western plaguelands there are little pool objects scattered all over. When you loot them 1-2 elite 59's spawn. Just run

I wouldn't do this quest unless you get a carapce to drop. I was lucky enouph to get one and do the quest and it was definately a pain.

Everything is easy to get except the Chromatic Carapace drops in 1 of 100

For the dragons to allow you to pick up the book and start the quests, you must first begin the chain by speaking to Awbee in upper Blackrock Spire. She's on a ledge hanging over the city right when you exit the arena.

this BP has fire resist unlike both LF and valor...and 15 is real nice for places like MC and onyxia....i gladly would have taken it over my lightforge b4 i got my lawbringer...

i,m what you would call a newb player but have worked hard to get the carapace =0.8% drop chance (gyth ubrs) and am having a hard time obtaining the scales because of all the ppl on my server that se ooohh 25-30g thats just ruining for the ones that need them shammy/warrior of what i know its damn frustrating for the players like me that are prot spec and cant grind good and so far have only got repare bills out of guild runs =/ im gonna have to use all my cash on the scales =( but it is a nice piece so its worth it but could be much easyer if&nbsp nijas just would let the right ones get them&nbsp

this would probly be one of the hardest quests to complaete. that stupic epic thing u need from gyth, has a drop rate of 0.8%! not to mention 10 brilliant chromatic scales! (they drop about 2-4 per UBRS run)

Well im in the Icecrown server, just got all the
mats for this BP. Got the carapace 3 time i was in UBRS , won with a roll of 31 (SWEET).
gonna turn in now, Took me about 1 1/2 weeks to get all the mats.

Well after months of grinding the instances the Chromatic carapace dropped!

For the Chromatic Carapace, it is BOP and it's for a quest to get a mail and a plate, is that mean only warrior/paladin/hunter/shaman should roll on it? but it dropped to me on my last UBRS run, once it dropped, every1 roll "NEED" on it =.= but luckily i got it :) (is that something epic n every1 must roll need? :P)

sry but doing this quest is a waste of time. t1-bp is better than that for tanks because of +def and the droprate isn't nearly that bad. 10 points less in agi is price every tank should be able to live with.
But IF this item drops and a pala rolls it higher than a tank without t1bp - pala's account should be deleted (palas->ur just buff-support/healer for the raid, no dd and no tanks!).
so far - my point of view.

Done UBRS about 200times and got it when I was just going to help guildies to kill rend. Nice surprize also being the only plate user in the raid as well.

The Blood of Heroes are fairly easy to farm if you are dilligent(I got the last 7 I needed in 2 hours using the maps on this site).

I recommend rolling on frayed abdomen stichings and brilliant chromatic scales every chance you get if this chest appeals to you so that if and when the carapace drops you will have the mats. I was really excited to win the carapace the first time I saw it drop ever(after giving up after months and months).. Fortunately I had all the stichings and the majority of the scales already.

Sure its not the best chest in the game, but if you are lucky enough to win the carapace its nice to have.. A decent early tank chest(no defense), but a great pvp and fire resist chest piece. I DEd my Dark Iron chest in favor of this..I doubt ill regret the loss of four fire resist for the stam, agil, and str I gained. =P

I only saw a small fraction of these bloods active at any one time, but all the spawn points shown do have one or two from time to time, it simply requires methodically checking each area..

lol, the epic item out of UBRS has dropped like 75% of ubrs runs I have done.. Although I have no need for it.. 3 times it hasn't gone to soembody who could use :( .. What a waste.. But, know, this is good FR for those that can wear it.. Better exists, but finding FR gear with stats on is a BOON.

There is a rule of thumb for resistances fight.. In fights where resistance is important, all else is unimportant.. So, if you can get your resistances and still have stats and what not, then ya are even better than just having FR..

But there are better items.. generally people dont' pick up the quest until they have the epic item from UBRS.. all the rest of the items are definitely farmable. Although the blood of heroes would take ALONG TIME.. lol, cause when ya get one, a bunch of elites spawn and subsequently pwn you. LOL, so get naked and run around Plaguewood in EPL

Got this a few days ago for our main tank, Alliance Ravencrest. The run the next day we skinned the Beast and got his Hide, yet the nexr day Drakkisath droped his Epic sword, talk about luck.

At first NO ONE wanted the purple mat when we stumbled upon it, and i, as a warrior, din even think of getting it (wasn't sure if i should)... so we just let some peep hold it and voila! The guy hearthed immediately and left the party.

got it on my second ubrs run ever, after oh say, 4 hours of being 60, the carpace that is. Now I go for mats, and i learned early on what the soldiers blood is, when i was like 57 and stumbled upon one, I then also learned why they call nifty stopwatch NIFTY stopwatch

the carapace actually dropped twice on two runs for me, the first time i got outrolled by a bubbleboy, then i thought i could just give up.. but my next run i got disconnected during killing rend, then i got online again, JUST before he died, i got the carapace of gyth, and got disconnected again, just like it was... meant to be 8D

It isn't a "book" quest.
I suggest you start it after you get your chromatic carapace. If you have the carapace
you start the quest in the runes of andorhal in WPL. GL. With patience your mats will come.
I find the best time to get the blood of heroes is about 6 server time.

O MAN THIS QUEST WAS SOOO EASY B4 I EEVN GOT THE QUEST PPL WERE SAYING WHERE THESE BLOODS OF HEROES AT AND I JSUT GRABBED SOEM I ACTUALLY HAD EXTRA AT THE END THEN I GOT STICHINGS OFF GREED ROLSL AND CHROMATIC SCALESI WON THEN THE CARAPACE ON THE FIRST UBRS RUN I DIDNT HAEV THE QUEST TILL I ACTUALLY HAD MOST OF THE MATS I GUESS IM JUST LUCKY
