Legplates of the Chromatic Defier

To forge the Legplates of the Chromatic Defier, you will be required to bring the following items to Jeziba the 'Sculptor':

1 Chromatic Carapace.

10 Brilliant Chromatic Scales.

10 Blood of Heroes.

5 Skin of Shadow.

Description

The carapace of a mature chromatic drake is needed to form the foundation of the leggings. Brilliant chromatic scales are then layered upon the wire frame and enchanted in the blood of heroes. Finally, the supple skin of shadow must be applied to the inner greaves.

Information on the Chromatic Carapace

Presumed to exist.&nbsp Only a greater chromatic dragonkin or dragon could pocess such a carapace.

Information on the Chromatic Scale

Commonly found on the lesser chromatic flight: Whelps, Broodlings, lesser wyrmkin.

Information on the Blood of Heroes

Legend claims that in places of extreme conflict, across what is now known as the Plaguelands clean and holy springs may erupt from the ground.&nbsp The water from those springs has been named 'Blood of Heroes,' by artisans and commonfolk alike - in honor of those that fell in the war against the Scourge.

Information on the Frayed Abomination Stichings

The threads that holds together the abominations of Stratholme are highly sought after by artisan craftsmen:&nbsp Extremly resilient - nearly unbreakable.

Information on the Skin of Shadow

Used by the Barov family of the Scholomance as a mirror into the souls that they no longer possess.&nbsp A valuable keepsake.

Chromatic Carapace is off Rend's Mount in Upper Blackrock Spire, and a descently rare drop at that. Binds when picked up.

The Brilliant Chromatic Scales drop off random high level elite dragonkin 57+ and are once again rather random. NOT Binds when picked up.

Blood of Heroes spawns randomly on the ground in the Plaguelands. Looting these will spawn 1-2 60+ elite 'Fallen Heroes' however you can loot even while they spawn If you're a hunter freeze trap, loot, then run off and feign death. Binds when picked up.

Skin of Shadows are also a ground spawn in Scholomance and possibly the most annoying of the items in my opinion. Almost always on my server there is someone in group trying to make a shifting cloak and will also be after this. And there is only one per Scholo run, so good luck and hopefully no ninja looting. Binds when picked up

All said and with you looking at this you may wonder if these legguards are worth the trouble. Honestly it depends on your current gear. If you have a full set of Beaststalkers or Giantstalkers especially this will be a downgrade for you in DPS. However they are also possibly rarer then Giantstalkers' leggings and look very cool (Black with silver lining and trim) and are definite accomplishment. Happy hunting everyone.

Dont start working to get these legs until you have the chromatic carapace in your inventory, that is the hardest part to get, its a rare drop off of glyth in UBRS. after you get the carapace the rest is easily obtained.

Please do not spend your time farming other items until you get "Chromatic Carapace". I went to UBRS almost 40+ times and I haven't seen it yet.

For the dragons to allow you to pick up the book and quests, you must first begin the chain by speaking to Awbee in upper Blackrock Spire. She's on a ledge hanging over the city right when you exit the arena.

Restoration PvP-Shamans like me pick it. No need for Strength and Agility, cause I hit 0-10 times at a fight with a group. And trading 7 Stamina for 9 Intellect is good and additionally 30 (!) Spirit (about 5-6 Points mana regeneration per second) are a blast. At MassPvP you will never run out of Mana for long, if you equip on Spirit, if you are short of it, just run a little (no Problem for a shaman), if somebody follows you, you will have half of your mana back after 20-30 seconds and can kick their asses.

i love the pants got the quest friday night got the carpace sat morning had all 10 blood b4 dinner then did 3 runs in scholo ...skins down. made a deal for all the scales for 35g a pop and bam got my patns in less than 3 day from start to end. best of luck

I've been in ubrs 3 times, carapace dropped twice, won the roll on the second carapace. Now I need 2x skin of shadows and 10x blood of heroes :P

Thank you to the kind poster who was able to transcribe the text that Jeziba went into before giving you the quest , when you go back to him you cant get the same info again , i think.

I am a bit concerned about the frayed abomination stitchings , they arent listed in the quest log as being an item you need , but I now have picked up two of them (?) Considering the early post in this thread I'm lead to believe that they are required in making these legguards .

Does anybody know if the frayed abomination stitchings are necessary mats for the legguards of the chromatic defier?

Any info'd be great :)

Thanx for the info Brilix , I rolled need on these twice now , i from drop , hope no one in my group at the time needed them without knowing , i seemed to be the only one in group who had a clue about them.

They're soul bound too , ah well.

The carapace has a 0.1% drop rate. so dont waster your time doing this quest, or getting the other items untill you have it. It means out of every 1000 UBRS run one carapace willd drop. And there is a high chance that someone will ninja it not knowing what it is, just because its purple. Think about this, in every UBRS run there at least two warriors and two huntes meaning even if you see it droped you have one in four changes of getting it, like i said before, unless someone decides to ninja it.

well, it turns out the drop rate is 0.8%. which means out of every 1000 UBRS run 8 will drop. GOOD LUCK.

that you have to do before this ? except from the one you get in UBRS from the little dragon, what do you have to do to get this Q ?

I've been watching over this place for some time now, and yet, every single time i get here the books says:

"The Book tells of dragons uniting against another, more powerful dragon, named Deathwind. From what you can make out, the chromatic dragonflight had almost been unleashed upon the world.The Aspects were prepared."

So what does that have to mean ? that i cant get the Q ? im just a little tired of not being able to get it, when my friend runs around with those great hunter leggings.. but then on the other hand.. why dont i just go MC, and get my t2 pants :)

Is level 57 really the only requirement to get this quest, or is there some other sort of pre req to do before obtaining this quest? I went up to the house in Andorhal with Jeziba and Chromie and I found the Catalogue of the Wayward, only when I opened it, it did not offer me a quest, but instead just had some info stuff about a dragon gathering. Anyhow, I was level 57 when I tried to get the quest. If anyone knows what's up please say so!

Why is there a choice of rewards for this quest? The only classes that wear mail at 60 are shammies and hunters. I don't see why any hunter or shammy would pick the first one (trading half the stamina and all the strength/agility for a pittance of intellect and some spirit). Could someone enlighten me?

I think he means that the Carapice was ninja'd. really rare drop off of Gyth the dragon that Rend Blackhand rides into the arena in UBRS

Why does everyone be so upset about some of the farming. I mean how much time do you need to farm those couple of bloods considering on how many UBRS runs you need for the carapace. ^^

I say if you get that do it otherwise don´t think about it, going to UBRS with the only goal of getting this on will make you VERY unhappy ^

Well, the stats are an upgrade from the beaststalkers leggings. If you have the set bonus it's questionable. I was fortunate enough to get the Chromatic Carapace on a Rend run, so I'm going for it. After that, the Skin of Shadow came fast (2 scholo runs), then I needed 7 bloods (picked up 3 from previous venturing)spent 2 days farming those 7... my own personal hell... and by 2 days I'm talking over 10 hours :( now I'm just working on my last two scales. Average price on Aegwynn is 30g buyout. Selling herbs/pots and playing the AH to make the $ and waiting for the high prices to go down (currently 50-60g buyout) GL guys, and if you need help finding bloods, I know I did, check google: blood of heroes wow

These blood of heroes are completely BS - I have scoured the plaguelands literally for hours and have not found 1. This quest blows. Ignore it. Get a real epic set.
