The Crown of Will

Kill Mug'Thol, and return his head with the Crown of Will to Melisara in Tarren Mill.
Mug'thol's Head
Crown of Will

Description

With Mug'Thol's lieutenants dead, all that remains is to kill Mug'Thol and retrieve the Crown of Will. I have no doubt he'll be reluctant to part with it. Most likely expecting you, too, given the... departure... of his fellows.

Find Mug'Thol, and deliver his head and the Crown to me. The Crushridge resistance will be at an end.

I had to solo him cause no one would help me.&nbsp Basically what I did was dismiss my pet and basically make a suicide run as fast as I could up to his chamber.&nbsp I used Aspect of Monkey so that I could dodge as much as I can.&nbsp Then, while I had a huge freakin mob of angry Ogres right behind me, I went to the corner with the chest (which is right behind Mug'Thol) and Feign Death.&nbsp Wait for everyone to go back about their business and then pop up again.&nbsp You can stand on the chest and not aggro anyone.&nbsp Use this time to replenish you health.&nbsp As soon as to call for you pet or drop a trap, it will aggro him.&nbsp So I suggest trap then pet.&nbsp Do whatever you need to get the aggro on your pet.&nbsp Disengage works well, but my pet used growl and that worked fine.&nbsp Then run to the other corner and let loose with arrows.&nbsp You should have just enough room to use ranged shots.&nbsp Aim Shot whenever you can, but just be careful not to pull the aggro.&nbsp After that he is cake.&nbsp The other two gaurds won't even touch you unless you move past the table.&nbsp Now the tricky part is trying to get out.&nbsp I tried a suicide run out the front door but got nailed just outside.&nbsp So I suggest a suicide run to the roof and then jump off.&nbsp You should be able to survive it and it will take a while for the Ogres to make their way downstairs.&nbsp Now just run your ass off till they stop following.&nbsp Or Feign Death.&nbsp I just try not to use it unless I really need it.

Pheeewh... Solo'd it just about 10 minutes ago as lvl 37 feral druid.

First of all, sneaked by most guards in camp, including that lvl 39 elite wondering around, then killed 2 guards at the entrance.
Tried to prowl further, but was spotted and rushed as far as I could with a train of mobs on my tail.
After that, I was able to resurrect (via finding body) at any spot inside castle.
Found Mug'thol, then ressed at a safe spot nearby. Selfbuffed, killed one of his guards, died ^^.
Resurrected again, killed another one and almost killed Mug'thol, he had about 100 hp when he made a killing blow =(
So I ressurected again, selfbuffed and slain this nasty ogre before first guard respawned. In fact, Mug'thol himself is much weaker than any of the

Gear - blue rares (RFD, SM, quest rewards), when I had low hp - used healing pot, warstomp, then regrowth, rejuv, healing touch and shapeshift (well, as always :P)

Hope this helps someone.

Just did this solo as lv 43 Druid. Simply walked past all the ogres in stealth cat form right up to the room with Mug'Thol. Then turned to bear form in the doorway and killed the two guards, shifting form to use healing touch when needed. Killed Mug'Thol in bear form but had to keep shifting form a lot to heal myself (about 5 times). Left using stealth cat form again.

For me (43 rogue) this guy was much easier than Targ, the hardest of the 3 ogres from the previous quest... he had 4-5k HP vs Targ's almost 8k. Targ required prep + evasion x2, potion and blind+bandage (ok, maybe a bit of an overkill there, but he killed me twice before I got prep, so I wanted to be sure), this guy only needed evasion... go figure.

Solo'd this with a 46 Rogue. Stealthed inside to the far corner of the room, used Superior Defense potions, +25 Agility and +25 Strength potion and poisoned weapons. Started fight with Ambush then Evasion, Two Sinister Strikes, Gouge, Backstab and then Eviscerate. I hit Prepardness, Evasion again and repeated the above. I finally used Bloodlust and another talent that enhances melee and 15% dodge rate. I had to use a superior healing potion once during the battle. Scored 1080XP for the battle, snatched the loot and stealthed out.

I tried it at level 44 and got rocked...probably due to not thinking out a strategy.

Peace,

Cyre

Good job. This is not an easy solo.

To get to this guy, go in the front of the ruins, turn left, and clear your way to the castle at the end. There are patrols that go near the castle gate, so clear them. You don't want adds.

The castle is packed with level 39 and 40 elite ogres. Some of them are double pulls. The corridors are tight, but there is often just enough room for a hunter to use ranged combat.

Mug'thol is on the third floor. First, go up the stairs, then go up the ramp. If you go up the second set of stairs, you'll be on the roof. There are some nice single pulls to grind for greens and exp up there, but not the quest mob.

There's a double pull right at the top of the ramp and around the corner, so be ready.

Mug'thol himself won't have any help if you clear carefully. He's level 43 and he hits hard, but otherwise is a pretty straightforward kill. Just have some healing ready. I let my pet tank and used mend pet while some casters fried him.

There's a chest in the room with him. Respawns are fast enough that you'll probably prefer to hearthstone out. Set your home to Tarren Mill if you want to turn in the quest right away. Final turnin is at Undercity.

solo'd with my 41 feral spec druid.

there are 2 lvl40 elites on front of him which you have to take on at the same time, died after killing one, ran back, rezzed, took care of the other and then of Mug'thol. he's nothing a feral druid can't handle.
