Gahrron's Withering Cauldron

The Scourge's plague cauldron stands before you, spewing vast amounts of toxins into the air. A small, non-descript access panel lies in the base of the cauldron's vast platform.

Having already defeated the cauldron lord and acquired its key, you are free to add the appropriate reagents to the cauldron to make a counter agent to the plague.

these arent worth it at all. the time it takes you to do it, can buy you a scholo/strat run, which you have a very good chance of getting a corrupters scourgestone, while working towards your set or desired loot.(most raids limit 1 per person, and about 5+ will drop, scholo drops almost 10)you will also get minions and invaders off normal mobs just for going(alot of people dont even loot them). And if you want to solo farm argent dawn faction, kill lvl60 undead in east plaquelands at nox field or other field north east of blightcaller, lvl60 non-elite undead in EPL common drop invader scourgestones, every 10-20mobs=token. many people think you have to kill an elite to get an invaders, which isn't true. this is also FREE, you do not have to buy a regeant.

I don't know if this is an efficient way to get rep or not, but I don't do the cauldron stuff, cuz I don't find them to be fun. /shrug

7k in to revered.

i farmed and used 10 in a row and i didnt see the rep bar move (i am on honorable) and it doesnt seem very worth it at ALL!

40 runecloth = 2g or more on AH (if u are resonable)
40 ectoplasmic = grind em for 2 hours
10 arcane quickener = 4g and 10min runing back and forth with the crap

total: waste of your time. BuT! in the meanwhile u would get alot of scourgestones that might be more useful that grinding for these crappy objects..

This quest has a very simple purpose. When you farm for scourgestones, you can opt to give up cash and runecloth loot and gain more rep.

Some people want rep and drops.
Some people want rep and rep.

I'd say this is about 30-40 % increase to normal scourgestone farming for rep with argent dawn. Is it worth it? #$%^ yes.

This goes by very quickly. The ecto drops are very common, and you get runecloth and usually some nice potions.

What I am surprised about is that each harder site isn't worth more Reputation points considering farming Gahrron's Withering is so much harder than say farming Felstone Field.

If Felstone is worth 25 then one would think that the next one (Dalson's Tears) would be 50 then 75 for Haunt and then 100 for Gahrron's ...

Alas.. it is not.

This is definitely worth it for farming rep with AD. In most cases you are most likely farming scourgestones as well. I was farming Gahrrons Withering and making money while increasing rep. By the time I found the ectoplasmics I easily covered the 40s cost and found around 10-20 runecloth. I made my money back plus rep and more rep from scourgestones. How is this not worth it if you don't want to deal with a pick up raid full of noobs? Not only that, you may leave at your leisure.

I have been farming the mats to this for a little while now, banking my drops. At the moment i have 70 Ectoplasmic Resonator and 220 Runecloth, so you definitely dont have to buy runecloth on the Auction House to do this. I also think that I get enough money to buy the Arcane Quickener, and if i sell the extra Runecloth I get I will make a decent amount of money too.
Of course I get greens, potions and Scourgestones for doing this so I'm not complaining.

I'm surprised not a lot of people are farming this quest for rep.

I did one, and doing more is just not worth it. I thought there would be some special reward for doing all four, but it seems like that's not the way it works. Oh well, of to scholomance again...

I think you guys may have missinterpreted this.. By doing this you get:

1. rep for killing mobs
2. silver and runecloth for killing mobs
3. scourgestones to deliver for rep
4. rep for "using" the Cauldrons

Cant see why ppl are complaining =/
